“Equality Act” Exposed:  Vulnerable Women and Children Lose
House Democrats Ram Vote to Avoid Scrutiny

Washington, D.C. – Penny Nance and Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) joined Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Missouri), Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Arizona), and organizations from the left and the right to expose the dangerous effects of the Equality Act before tomorrow’s House vote.

In a virtual rally hosted by the Family Policy Alliance, all were clear: the “Equality Act” will do away with women’s-only sports and locker rooms, safe spaces for vulnerable women in prisons and domestic violence shelters, and jeopardize parents’ jurisdiction over their child’s education and health care. The “Equality Act” is dangerous for our country.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America LAC, issued the following statement:

“Democrats are rushing the deceptively-named Equality Act for a vote because they fear the truth if their radical gender ideology is exposed. The media and Big Tech are giving them cover, devoting no attention to its dangerous and far-reaching implications. Amazon is banning books revealing its harms.

“The gender ideology of the elitist left erases the ability to differentiate between men and women and denies the harm this inflicts on women and children. Democrats should fear any examination of the real impact of the “Equality Act” because Americans reject its destructive agenda.

“This bill is not about equality; it is about imposing a new form of discrimination against women and all who believe in the basic truth and dignity of our creation as male and female. Women’s rights to safety, privacy, and conscience are abandoned under this bill. Vulnerable women in prisons and violence shelters have nowhere to be safe when any male claiming identity as a woman can occupy our spaces.

“Under the so-called Equality Act, women will lose female protected status in bathrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms, and women’s shelters. Women will lose opportunities for scholarships and contracts.  Female athletes will lose their place on the podium in unfair competition. Children will face interrogation about their “gender identity” by educators and doctors and prescribed cross-sex hormones based on their self-declared identity regardless of parents’ concerns.

“The vast majority of America is united against government-coerced gender ideology and the harms that will result from the Equality Act.  Congress must reject it.”

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee to Newsweek: “Evangelical policy leaders have been willing to work with every president. To his credit, President Trump sought our advice often—and we supported his policies because they matched our positions. We will never again settle for political crumbs from the establishment’s table. We expect conservative elected officials to live up to their campaign promises to earn our votes.”

Political Revenge Impeachment Not Good for the Country

Washington, D.C. – This evening, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and House Democrats will formally transmit the article of impeachment against former President Donald J. Trump to the United States Senate. House impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) is expected to read the article of impeachment on the Senate floor at roughly 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), had this to say concerning the prospect of a political impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate:

“At a time when the country needs healing and reconciliation, the Democrats’ insistence on this constitutionally dubious political assault on a former president and his approximately 74 million supporters is unconscionable.

“There are serious issues that require immediate congressional action—from the pandemic to the economy to our national defense. That Democratic leadership finds it appropriate to waste the country’s time on yet another attempt at getting their political nemesis, Donald Trump, shows what little regard they have for the public’s needs. They are willing to inflict further damage on our frail national social fabric in order to get their political revenge.

“Senators from both sides of the aisle should consider what is best for the country as they proceed. They should not risk the nation’s long-term welfare for petty political resentment. They should put an end to this impeachment charade and move forward with the people’s business.”

Penny Nance Quoted in the Washington Times

By | CEO, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America, is quoted in the Washington Times article, Biden, Harris commit to ‘codifying Roe’ as pro-lifers decry abortion agenda.

Nance, “This week, Joe Biden took his hand off the Holy Bible at his swearing-in and within hours began a full out assault on women and human life as president,” said Concerned Women for America president Penny Nance. “It is only the beginning of his promised actions to erase women and force taxpayers to finance the killing of unborn babies, underscoring the dark consequences of this election.”

Women are Grieving as Biden Initiates Assault  on Female Identity and the Sanctity of Human Life

Statement from Penny Young Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America:

“As women who stand for what it means to be female created in God’s image and bearers of human life, Concerned Women for America (CWA) is grieving today on the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

“This week, Joe Biden took his hand off the Holy Bible at his swearing-in and within hours began a full out assault on women and human life as president. It is only the beginning of his promised actions to erase women and force taxpayers to finance the killing of unborn babies, underscoring the dark consequences of this election.

“With the stroke of a pen, President Biden ordered federal agencies to replace the meaning of sex with “gender identity,” allowing any male to claim status as a woman. Let me be clear, CWA will never accept the identity theft of female dignity. We will actively oppose this policy along with every real feminist in America.

“Biden’s radical gender policy eviscerates protections for women in domestic violence shelters, prisons, and locker rooms. His order aims to repeal Title IX, a civil rights law enacted 48 years ago to advance women’s equal rights in education and athletics. Biden’s mandate rejects a sex-based standard in women’s sports, even though poll after poll shows 75-80% of Americans oppose allowing biological males to compete against female athletes in women’s sports.

“With equal audacity, President Biden dispatched Dr. Anthony Fauci to the World Health Organization to preview his aggressive abortion agenda. Dr. Fauci announced the repeal of Mexico City Policy, which prevents taxpayer funds from being used to promote abortion as women’s health care overseas – a restriction 75% of the American people support. Of all people, Dr. Fauci should be unifying the country to fight COVID-19, not doing Biden’s bidding to promote a culture of death.

“Biden has nominated an abortion radical, Xavier Becerra, to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.  As California’s Attorney General, Becerra aggressively sued the Little Sisters of the Poor and other states for their laws to limit abortion. Biden has promised to repeal Title X regulations and the Hyde Amendment, forcing American taxpayers to fund the destruction of innocent human life on demand, despite the fact a majority of Americans oppose these repeals.

“Unity is clearly not the objective of the Biden Administration. Americans should be shocked and appalled by the deeds this President has done to divide this country in just his first hours in office.”

What To Do Until Inauguration Day

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

On Wednesday of next week, the United States will inaugurate a new President. Joe Biden will take the oath as the 46th President. All of us can look around and see the conflict and discontent in our country. I was seeking the Lord about the state of our nation and asking Him for a word of direction. The word I got was PRAY!

I have put together a prayer guide for the next six days until Inauguration Day, which I would encourage you to use to guide your prayer time leading up to the inauguration. We will be having a time of concentrated prayer on Wednesday, January 20,  at 4:00 p.m. Eastern (3:00 p.m. Central; 2:00 p.m. Mountain, 1:00 p.m. Pacific). By that time, we will have a new president, and we will be gathering to pray for the new President and the new administration.

Register here to attend this time of concentrated prayer. Thank you for standing with CWA in prayer for our nation.

Statement from Penny Nance on Impeachment Proceedings

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

Concerned Women for America‘s CEO and President Penny Nance released this statement regarding the impeachment proceedings against President Trump:

“If President-elect Joe Biden wants to bring the country together, we need congressional leaders to focus on a productive and peaceful transition of power, not foment political punishment. Our emotions are raw, and this nation needs time to heal. The violence and destruction at the U.S. Capitol last week is indefensible. Wielding political power to weaponize retribution and punish political opponents is antithetical to American ideals. Joe Biden has the opportunity to seek unity and healing, but that will not happen by creating greater strife and rubbing salt into our wounds.”

CWA Response to Lawlessness in D.C.

Concerned Women for America’s CEO and President Penny Nance responded to the January 6 events at the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C.

“Lawlessness is not a Christian, conservative value.  @CWforA condemns acts of violence and destruction.  Righteous indignation and strategic political engagement are right and just reactions to injustice not mob rioting.  We are better than this as a nation.  Stop it.”

“I know good, peaceful people who came to #dc to exercise their First Amendment rights in reaction to voter fraud, but they need to go home now.  Others are using it as an excuse for criminal behavior.  Unacceptable!  @CWforA @YWforA”

A Christmas Message from Penny Nance

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

It’s Christmas Day! What a wonderful time to reflect on the birth of our Savior and God’s goodness. Scripture tells us that, “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which means, God with us).”

And that is the thought I’d like to leave with you today. God is near.

I know 2020 was a tough year for many, but we must never equate adversity with the absence of God.

So, I lift up a prayer for you today wherever you are, whatever situation you are going through, that you may experience Immanuel, God with you.

Merry Christmas!

A Special Thanksgiving Message from CWA

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

In the midst of the preparations for Thanksgiving and looking forward to the Christmas season, I wanted to express our thanks for you and your support of Concerned Women for America. This year has been one of the strangest I can remember in my lifetime. What a year 2020 has been!

Who would have known that COVID would turn our lives upside down! In March, we sent our staff home to work remotely. With the wonders of technology, we were able to keep moving forward. Through God’s faithfulness and your giving, we were able to stay on a solid financial footing through the months that have followed. On June 1, we returned to our offices. God has protected us, and we have not had any incidences of the virus in our office.

The death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to succeed her on the U.S. Supreme Court provided CWA with an amazing opportunity to reach out to Christian, conservative women across the country. Early in October, we launched the “Women for Amy” bus tour to raise awareness and promote the confirmation of Judge Barrett. Our pink “Women for Amy” bus did over 8,000 miles in twelve states and rallied at 36 different locations. We were able to rejoice in the successful confirmation of Associate Justice Barrett.

The victories we have experienced this year have been made possible as people like you have prayed and lifted us up through the hard battles made even more difficult by the pandemic. Every prayer you have prayed has been felt and appreciated. We could not do what we do without the strong arms of the Lord holding this ministry and giving us the strength and resources we need. You are a huge part of that, and for that, we are thankful.

We look forward to 2021. By then, we should know who the President is, and soon after the first of the year, we will know who will control the Senate. We are already making plans for any contingency which could come out of the final results. We will continue to be engaged both nationally and internationally on our seven core issues and will be working to see that policy decisions which are made are good for our nation and our families. With your support and your prayers, we will continue to do this regardless of who sits in the White House or the U.S. Senate. And for that, we are thankful.

We pray God’s blessings on you and your family as you gather to celebrate Thanksgiving.

For all these things, we are thankful,
Penny Nance

Fox News Op-Ed – Nance: 2020 election’s only wave – Republican women double numbers in the House

By | CEO, National Sovereignty, News and Events | No Comments

“Conservative women candidates laid the groundwork early for keeping seats being vacated by male Republican members and flipping seats occupied by liberal women who were beholden to Planned Parenthood and the leftist agenda of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. Their efforts paid off … No amount of money from the left’s political donation machine was enough to win these seats. The power of the conservative message won the day,” stated Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) CEO and President, Penny Nance, in her op-ed for Fox News. Read the entire op-ed here.

Conservative Women Poised for Action

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women for America (CWA) CEO and President Penny Nance had this to say on the news reports that former Vice President Joe Biden is projected to win the election:

“The news media does not get to call the election. We will let the legal process play out, and if former Vice President Biden is the winner, we will congratulate him, pray for him, and engage him to do the right thing on the issues about which we care.

“The hundreds of thousands of conservative women I represent know how to play offense and defense, and we do not shy away from any circumstance.

“One thing is for sure. Our election process needs reforming. It helps no party to have this many Americans show such strong distrust of the process. I am glad to see some senators, like Sen. Josh Hawley, already looking to introduce legislation to safeguard our elections.

“We are looking forward to engaging the president (whether former Vice President Biden or President Trump) and the new Congress, reinvigorated by some incredible new conservative, pro-life women who are sure to make their mark in a positive way for our nation.”

Prayer and Fasting for the Election

By | CEO, News and Events, She Prays She Votes 2020 | No Comments

Dear Prayer Partner,

You have probably heard it said many times during this election season that this election represents a critical turning point in our history. I believe the results of this election will determine whether or not this Republic will survive as we know it. But I also rest in the knowledge that God places people in positions of authority, and as a sovereign God, He moves them as He chooses. “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” (Romans 13:1) “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will.” (Proverbs 21:1)

I can so relate to the story of Esther in the Old Testament.  When she was faced with the dire situation facing her country, she said  “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. (Esther 4:16)

Like Esther, I am asking you to join me on Monday, November 2, for a day of fasting and prayer for our nation and the situation in which we find ourselves. Would you fast as you can on Monday (whether it be a 24-hour fast or a shorter fast)? I believe that fasting is a way of humbling ourselves before God. As we fast and pray, we acknowledge that He is sovereign over all things, and even though He does all things according to His will, He requires that His people seek His face and His plan.

Please join me on Monday, November 2, as we enter into a time of fasting and prayer for our nation.  “ … Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” (Nehemiah 4:14)

Your prayer partner,
Penny Nance
