Penny Nance, CWA’s CEO and President spoke out on the FBI targeting in a Fox News op-ed and had this to say, “We should all be worried about the ability and hubris of a politicized FBI to invade and target American citizens and organizations out of favor with those in power … We call on Congress to clamp down on the trampling of our civil liberties using perhaps well-intentioned but overly indulgent rules. To win the battle for the soul of our nation, we must come together as one Church under the leadership of Christ. In this week’s episode of our podcast, Penny is joined by Ryan Helfenbein of Liberty University’s Standing for Freedom Center to discuss how to Biblically navigate through tough issues.

Happy Memorial Day 2021

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

This weekend many Americans will leave work looking forward to a long weekend ahead, to spending more time with their friends and loved ones, and to some much-needed time in the sun. As the unofficial kickoff to summer draws near, we pause to remember the men and women who left for work one day and never made it home for another long weekend and their families who would never get that extra time back.

Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, is an American holiday honoring the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the U.S. military. It originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official holiday in 1971.

Although this weekend will leave us all feeling a little more excited for the season that’s to come, it’s important to remember the real reason that we get to have this extra day to spend however we choose.

Freedom. Sacrifice. Love.

John 15:12-13 says, This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Scripture tells us that there is no greater sacrifice than laying down one’s life for others. In America, we are uniquely positioned to understand this principle in a more meaningful and personal way. We know what these men and women were defending. We know that when they kissed their family goodbye for the final time, they did so knowing they were protecting the rights and freedoms for them to prosper. America is the greatest country in the history of the world because of the men and women who sacrificed their all to protect it.

This Memorial Day, while you are enjoying a day off, take a moment to remember those heroes, past and present, and remember the people they left behind. May their sacrifices never be forgotten.

NCAA Caves to Public Pressure on Women’s Sports

By | CEO, News and Events, Sexual Exploitation, Women's Sports | No Comments

Just one month ago, the NCAA threw female athletes under the bus and sided with transgender athletes, claiming it would prohibit states with restrictions on trans athletes in place from hosting their future events. Amid mounting pressure from conservative groups, including CWA, the NCAA has caved and will allow tournaments to be held in states with laws protecting women in sports. Read our full statement below:

“Perhaps the NCAA is finally getting the message that discrimination against female athletes is NOT fairness. Maybe the NCAA has finally read the scientific research that proves male athletes cannot become female athletes. It could be the NCAA is finally recognizing that their policy allowing transgender males to compete in women’s sports is an affront to women’s equality and rights.

“States are passing laws because Joe Biden is repealing Title IX and erasing women’s sports. It’s about time that the NCAA back off its woke agenda and stand up for female athletes. There is much more the NCAA needs to do to regain its sorry track record in women’s sports. Let’s see if they are really serious about getting out of the starting blocks.”
