CEO Penny Nance Implores Legislators to Protect Life

FOX News highlights a letter spearheaded by conservative leaders to encourage legislators to block federal funding of abortion. In the letter, Concerned Women for America CEO and President Penny Nance and other conservatives leaders call on lawmakers to defend life at all stages. Currently, pro-choice advocates seek to remove Hyde, which would allow our taxpayer money to fund abortions.

Over 100 prominent leaders signed the letter, but the next few weeks will be an uphill battle since Democrats maintain the majority in the House and Senate.

Fox News Op-ed: Nance: What I learned from FBI’s ‘assessment’ of me, my organization

The following quote can be attributed to Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America (CWA), on the news of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) decision to assess for potential investigation CWA in 2016:

“Concerned Women for America (CWA) has throughout our forty-two-year history supported law enforcement and U.S. intelligence agencies. CWA is shocked and disappointed to learn that the FBI conducted research and an assessment of our organization. Our belief in the rule of law and in the integrity of our nation’s top law enforcement agencies makes it all the more disappointing to learn of the political targeting of our organization.

“Powerful government bureaucrats have used the FBI, IRS, and other agencies against perceived political rivals before, but it is nonetheless disgusting. It is my belief that my personal support for Donald Trump for President was the only reason for this investigation. The waste of taxpayer dollars was unscrupulous and frivolous. The question now becomes upon what intelligence did the FBI feel it needed to assess CWA in the first place? Were other agencies involved?

“The Biden Administration must work to reestablish the American people’s trust in our top law enforcement agencies which is at an all-time low. Unjustified, political investigations are in direct violation of Americans’ civil liberties.

“We call on Congress to clamp down on the out-of-control intelligence community. The American people deserve better. We demand better.

“Freedom and liberty are severely burdened when Americans cannot trust their government officials. While the right result was ultimately reached in regard to CWA, the intelligence community, including the FBI, continues to make it absolutely clear they cannot be trusted.”

CWA Responds to Viral Gay Chorus Video Sexualizing Children

San Francisco’s Gay Men’s Chorus made headlines last week by posting a highly controversial video claiming they were going to “convert your children.” The chorus has defended their remarks as “tongue-in-cheek” humor while simultaneously removing the video from all their platforms. The Day That Changed the Course of History Forever

A few short months ago, President Joe Biden sent a message to the American people. He said, “If we do this together, by July the 4th, there’s a good chance you, your family, and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or park and celebrate Independence Day.”

This message came from the sitting American President – not a monarch, not a king. How far have we fallen from our founding as a nation whenever the sitting President feels he can dictate what Americans can and can’t do? Let alone on the very day we celebrate our independence.

Ahead of Independence Day 1776, our Founders launched not only a revolution in government but a revolution in the pursuit of justice, equality, liberty, and prosperity.

On July 4, 1776, our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence enshrining the divine truth that would change the world forever: “That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

This bold declaration would change the course of world history and cement the very foundations of America– the truth that what God has given us can never be taken away by government.

Today we celebrate this important foundation of our great nation and are reminded of the importance of remaining grounded in this truth. We are in a battle for the soul of this nation and will continue in the fight to preserve its freedoms for generations to come.

Let this serve as your reminder that you never need anyone’s permission to celebrate the birth of American independence, a notion that undoubtedly would sicken the men who gave their blood for this nation in those early years.

President John Adams once said this day “ought to commemorate as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to Almighty God.”

Amen, President Adams.

CWA Latest in Townhall: Biden Administration Masks Abortion Agenda as ‘Gender Equality’

Concerned Women for America Vice President of International Affairs Neydy Casillas, Esq. highlights the Biden administration’s distorted rhetoric in defending a pro-abortion agenda in her latest Townhall article, “Biden Administration Masks Abortion Agenda as ‘Gender Equality.’” The Biden administration uses phrases like “gender equality,” “reproductive health and rights,” and “women’s health” to mask their efforts to increase abortion accessibility. Under the veil of women’s health, the Biden administration revoked the Mexico City policy, which forbids federal funding for abortions abroad. The U.S. is now funding the UN agency, UNFPA, again, which encourages abortion. Casillas reveals that this is all done under the veil of healthcare.

Casillas states, “Let’s just say it: abortion is not healthcare. An unborn baby who lives inside her mother’s womb is not an illness to be handled.” A child is a gift, not a problem. It is deeply concerning that the United States is contributing to abortion accessibility. We must fight for unborn lives in the U.S. and abroad.

  1. John Adams believed July 2 was the correct date to celebrate American’s independence and reportedly turned down appearing at various July 4 events in protest.
  2. The tradition of setting off fireworks to celebrate Independence Day began in Philadelphia on July 4, 1777. Ships fired a 13-gun salute in honor of the 13 colonies.
  3. Two Presidents died on the same July 4 in 1826, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, on the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Just five years later, James Monroe became the third President to die on July 4.
  4. In 1778, George Washington issued double rations of rum to all his soldiers to celebrate July 4.
  5. In the pre-Revolutionary years, colonists held annual celebrations of the King’s birthday. In contrast, during the summer of 1776, some colonists celebrated on July 4 by holding mock funerals for King George III as a way of symbolizing the end of the monarchy’s hold on America.

 Education Department Redefines Sex to Throw the Civil Rights of Women Under the Bus

A sham and a shame. Our daughters deserve better.

 Washington, D.C. – Just one week before the June 23 anniversary of Title IX, the Biden Administration has unconstitutionally reinterpreted the meaning of sex and effectively thrown the rights of women and girls under the bus. The landmark federal civil rights law enacted 49 years ago to prohibit sex-based discrimination and protect women has just been used to erase female status and turn Title IX on its head.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights issued a Notice of Interpretation explaining that “sex-based discrimination” includes gender identity and sexual orientation. The expansion of this definition means the government wants to force us to live under the fantasy that biology no longer matters and that the Biden Administration will no longer protect the equal rights of women and girls in education and athletics as intended.

From day one, the Biden Administration has been declaring war on what it means to be a woman. From replacing the word “mothers” with “birthing people” in its legislative proposals to leaving female athletes in a field of lost dreams, the Democrats have turned back the clock on decades of progress for women’s rights.

This decision is outrageous and insulting to every woman in America. It is detrimental to the safety, privacy, and opportunities of female students and athletes. Even Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an icon of the feminist movement, understood that sex-based classifications could be permissible because certain “differences between men and women” are “enduring.” For years, we’ve watched young, courageous, female athletes work to excel in women’s sports and demonstrate a simple point: sex-separated sports are at the heart of fair competition because men have innate physiological advantages over women based on immutable biological differences.

Unfortunately, in this radical woke era that elevates self-declared identity over reality, women and girls have been sidelined by leftist ideologues who demand any man can claim female status and have full access to our sex-separated spaces and sports.

Concerned Women for America (CWA), the largest public policy organization for women in the nation, has been on the front lines of the battle to defend Title IX for female students and athletes. Last week, Doreen Denny, CWA’s Vice President of Government Affairs, provided live testimony for the U.S. Department of Education’s virtual public hearing.

With this radical reinterpretation of Title IX coming on the heels of a full week of testimony and thousands of public comments, the Department of Education’s decision was obviously made before the results were in. President Joe Biden and Secretary Miguel Cardona clearly don’t care about what the American people, including the majority of women, have to say or about safety and fairness for women and girls.

Taking Back the Rainbow

This past weekend, hundreds of formerly LGBTQ-identifying individuals gathered in Washington, D.C. as part of the CHANGED Movement’s Freedom March. They shared testimonies about how Jesus met them where they were and completely transformed their lives.

We were honored to host a group from the CHANGED movement in our headquarters this week to hear their stories, learn from them, and pray over them. These remarkable individuals help others in the LGBTQ community understand underlying trauma and healing needed in their lives and seek to bring the message of the restorative power of Christ to those facing these challenges.

Jackson Women’s Health Organization—a case challenging a Mississippi law that limits abortions after 15 weeks, except in certain circumstances.

“As the hundreds of thousands of women I represent have made clear throughout the years, we will never stop fighting for the most vulnerable among us—for babies in the womb and mothers in crisis pregnancies. That is why this law in Mississippi was passed. It is a good law that protects women and children. It seeks to recognize the humanity and dignity of unborn children while protecting the health of mothers.

“We are thrilled that the Supreme Court gets another shot at correcting the nonsensical and unscientific structure established under Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. It is way past time for the Roe house of cards to come down. Women deserve better.
