Action Needed! Hyde Amendment at Stake

By | Hyde Amendment, Legislative Updates, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

If you oppose the federal government using taxes from workers’ paychecks to fund the destruction of babies in the womb through abortion, call your member of Congress at 202-225-3121 and urge them to vote NO. Read why below.

Senate Democrats Repeal Hyde Amendment in Massive New Spending Cloaked as “COVID Relief”

As part of the massive, partisan $1.9 trillion coronavirus spending bill passed on Saturday, every Senate Democrat voted to scrap over 40 years of bipartisan consensus to prevent the federal government from using your tax dollars from paying for the brutal destruction of babies through abortion. This is unconscionable. Any American who knows babies in the womb deserves the chance to live needs to stand against this atrocity.

A strong majority of Americans, including many who identify as “pro-choice,” support the Hyde Amendment (for domestic programs) and the Helms Amendment (for international programs), which prohibit federal tax dollars from American workers’ paychecks being used to kill innocent pre-born children at home and abroad.

President Joe Biden and his radical Democrat party are promoting a culture of death in this reckless, excessive federal bail-out bill. Under the guise of an “American Rescue Plan,” they are abandoning protection for the most vulnerable and voiceless lives in America:  babies in the womb.

Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (West Virginia), Bob Casey (Pennsylvania), and Tim Kaine (Virginia) voted for an amendment to restore the Hyde Amendment protections to prevent any of the $1.9 trillion from paying for abortion on demand. The amendment failed to reach the sixty votes needed for passage. These same members then voted for passage of the final bill, willing to allow billions of dollars in new Obamacare funding to pay for an abortion for any reason. Sens. Manchin, Casey, and Kaine care more about $1,400 checks in the mail than the billions of dollars that can now be spent to destroy innocent pre-born babies. Shame on them and the entire Democrat party.

The so-called “American Rescue Plan Act of 2021” now goes back to the House for a vote. If you oppose the federal government using taxes from workers’ paychecks to fund the destruction of babies in the womb through abortion, call your member of Congress at 202-225-3121 and urge them to vote NO.

All Night Vote-A-Rama to Push Massive New COVID Spending

By | Defense of Family, Legislative Updates, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

This week, President Joe Biden shirked off a request from several moderate Republican Senators to work on a bipartisan coronavirus relief bill. Meanwhile, Senate Democrats led by Budget Chairman Bernie Sanders laid the path for a budget resolution establishing a framework for massive new federal taxpayer spending for coronavirus relief that subverts the 60-vote requirement of the legislative filibuster. Their tactic guaranteed passage on a party-line vote after an all-night amendment marathon and Vice President Harris showing up to break the 50-50 tie.

This first partisan showdown by President Biden and his new Senate majority was proof enough that any talk of unifying Washington D.C. policymakers is nothing more than lip service. It previewed the coming battle over whether the filibuster will stand and the issues that will define the differences between the two parties and their priorities.

The process was not without a tactical opportunity for Republicans to file hundreds of amendments for floor consideration (over 800 in all were filed) and secure several votes on key issues during the 50 hours of debate. In a letter to Senators, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) signaled our intent to score relevant amendments related to our seven core issues. Of the forty-five amendments that received votes, CWALAC identified six votes that will be included on our scorecard, which have put Senators on record for the next election on some key issues.

Two of the six amendments passed to become part of the budget resolution.  The others failed:

Protecting Life:  Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) offered a Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act amendment to create criminal and civil penalties for medical providers who fail to exercise the same degree of care for babies who survive an abortion or attempted abortion as would be provided to another child born at the same gestational age. The vote failed 52-48 (all Republicans plus Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin [West Virginia] and Bob Casey [Pennsylvania] voted yes). Sixty votes were required under the Budget Act due to a lack of germaneness as a non-budget measure.

Supreme Court Packing:  Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) offered an amendment to prevent attempts to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices beyond nine. The amendment put Senators on record on the issue of court-packing. On a failed 50-50 vote, every Senate Democrat opposed the amendment indicating that every one of them would support adding justices to the Supreme Court in an attempt to overrule the current 6-3 conservative majority.

Religious Freedom:  Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) offered an amendment to prohibit infringing the free exercise of religion in employment, commerce, social services, faith and community partnerships, or access to housing, healthcare, or education. With 60-votes needed, the amendment failed 50-50 with Sen. Manchin voting yes and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voting no across party lines.  In his remarks, Sen. Lee cited the targeting of Little Sisters of Poor because of their religious beliefs as a reason why this protection is needed.

Sen. James Lankford (R-Oklahoma) offered an amendment to limit COVID-19 relief payments to states or localities that impose greater limits on the content of speech or restrictions on religious exercise, houses of worship, and faith-based organizations under the pandemic. This measure passed 51-49 with Sen. Manchin crossing the aisle.

Reopening schools: Senators Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) and Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) offered an amendment that would withhold additional coronavirus funds to schools that do not reopen for in-person learning after teachers have received a COVID-19 vaccine. The amendment failed on a party-line vote.

U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem: Sen. James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) and Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tennessee) offered an amendment which shows the Biden Administration that any attempt to undo President Trump’s historic move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem in 2018 would not have Senate support. Their amendment requires the United States to maintain its Israel embassy in Jerusalem and passed overwhelmingly by a vote of 97-3.

With final passage of the budget measure after an all-night vote-a-rama, Democrats will now be able to write a partisan reconciliation bill that can bypass the filibuster in the Senate. Eleven Senate committees are now instructed to report legislation for the $1.9 trillion coronavirus spending package demanded by President Biden by February 16. One month after losing two seats in the Georgia runoff election,  Senate Republicans must exercise every muscle as the minority party to hold the line against the radical political priorities of the left.

A Few Simple Things You Can Do

By | Maine | No Comments

So much is happening around us that can cause people to wonder “what in the world is going on?” We are watching friends and fellow Mainers lose their livelihoods out of no fault of their own; we know people who have contracted the coronavirus, and there appears to be an all-out assault on our civil liberties, especially our religious liberties.

Few can argue the fact that leading up to COVID-19, there was an increasing apathy toward the things that matter to God. Our state and nation have traded the goodness of God for what the world has to offer. And we have become less concerned about telling others about Jesus.

I don’t know about you, but recent events have stirred in me an even deeper commitment to want to make a difference in my country. And more importantly, I want others to experience the peace that only Jesus Christ can offer. 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is not willing that any should perish.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) is rooted in prayer. We believe the Bible is our standard for living and that a country and its people will only thrive when the foundation is built on His truths. So even in these uncertain times there are ways to engage, and I wanted to offer several ways you can take action and pray.

Take Action:

  • Ask the Lord to show you a person(s) who needs prayer and then be sure to pray for them.
  • Ask the Lord to guide you to a person with whom you can share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The simplest way to do it is just to share what Jesus means to you and what He has done in your life. Use these verses to guide your conversation: John 3:16 and Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9-10, and 10:13.
  • Send this message to family and friends.

Please Pray: Dear Father, we are struggling worldwide because of this pandemic.  It is a perfect opportunity to share the Gospel as people share their own personal struggles.  Please show each reader of this message at least one person with whom to share Your truth.  As You do this, it will be confirmation that You want it done.  May You have the glory.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen

“This world is not our home; we are just a passing through.”  Everything we do for God will last for eternity.  May you be blessed by knowing God used You to enlarge His Kingdom.

Together We Stand for Pro-Life and Pro-Family Issues – Save The Date!

By | Blog, News and Events, Social / Cultural Issues | No Comments

In this time of uncertainty, there’s a fundamental truth that gives us hope – that together we can do extraordinary things. Over the past few weeks and months, the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help out, give back, and heal. Whether that’s through donations to community organizations, celebrating doctors and nurses at shift changes, or reaching out to a neighbor to help with groceries, generosity has been helping the entire world get through this global pandemic.

On May 5, 2020, Concerned Women for America is participating in #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving. As you know, CWA has been vigilantly fighting the liberal left’s anti-family and pro-abortion plans to exploit the coronavirus pandemic through relief legislation.

#GivingTuesdayNow will ask for support, and for everyone for help spreading the word. Tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us, too!

It’s Time to Re-Open American Communities

By | Blog, Culture, News and Events, Social / Cultural Issues | No Comments

CWA’s CEO and President Penny Nance signed onto a letter applauding our nation’s Governors who are responsibly opening their states and supporting Americans as they exercise their constitutional rights and return to daily life.

~~~~~~
April 23, 2020
Washington, DC
In response to public health guidance from the White House, governors in Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, Alaska, and Tennessee have begun announcing phased re-openings of their states and communities, allowing people to choose to return to work, go shopping, purchase services, and attend religious services, and once again exercise their rights and judgments as citizens. We applaud the thoughtful leadership of these governors.
  • In Georgia, Gov. Brian Kemp has announced that some businesses, including gyms and hair salons, will be permitted to reopen, and elective surgeries can resume on April 24. Restaurants and theaters can re-open on April 27.
  • In Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott re-opened state parks on April 20, and stores can begin offering “retail to go” starting April 24. Texas residents may also resume attending religious services.
  • In Mississippi, Gov. Tate Reeves has allowed nonessential businesses to do curbside pickup, delivery, and drive-through service, and is considering permitting businesses to re-open on April 27.
  • In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis opened beaches for walking, biking, hiking, fishing, and running in parts of the state on April 17, and will soon issue a plan to safely re-open the entire state.
  • In South Carolina, Gov. Henry McMaster is permitting some beaches and retail stores to re-open, including department stores and bookstores.
  • In Alaska, Gov. Mike Dunleavy is permitting restaurants, retail stores, and non-essential businesses to re-open while following “rigorous health and safety standards.”
  • In Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee said the “vast majority” of businesses may re-open on May 1.
Americans mobilized quickly in the face of the COVID19 outbreak, and through their efforts, prevented the spread of the disease and the overwhelming of hospital facilities. But now, it is time to allow the country to re-open, so that the public health response does not result in even more damage and fatalities from sustained financial ruin.
Day 24 – Supplication as We Open Up the Country
By | Blog, Covid-19 | No Comments
Holy Father,
We come to You with supplications,
Asking for a special blessing for our efforts
To open up our country and defeat this virus.
We do not have all the answers,
But we trust You, Lord, give us wisdom;
Be our lighthouse leading us to safe harbor,
Fill us with faith and hope.
We are thankful that You allowed our leaders
To act quickly in the face of this threat.
Many lives have been saved—we are thankful,
Even as we mourn the tragic loss of many.
Now, send out Your light and Your truth,
Open our eyes that we may see.
Let them bring us to Your holy hill,
To Your dwelling place.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)
To You, we run, Lord. In You, we are secure.
Do not hide Your face from us.
Show us the way out!
Out of the darkness of Covid-19,
Of social isolation, of complacency,
Of the sin that ensnares us.
Show us the way out, Almighty God.
That we may worship You in the temple once again,
Altogether singing the songs of Your Salvation,
Proclaiming the works of the Lord!
Let us sing: “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.”
Or: “A mighty fortress is our God,
A bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood
Of mortal ills prevailing”
Or, “All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Amen!
Join CWA of Illinois: Statewide Day of Prayer for Illinois, Friday, April 24
By | Illinois | No Comments
With the COVID-19 pandemic, Americans are sheltering at home. We have been given time to draw close to the Lord and intercede for President Trump, Vice President Pence, and the affairs of our nation – especially all who are fighting on the frontlines of this invisible enemy.
If there was ever a moment in history to pray for America, it is now. Deep darkness covers our land. Ours is a divided nation, but we have a Promise of hope and restoration if We the People obey God’s Command: “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive them, and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Many prayer groups are gathering across America via phone and video conferences to ask forgiveness for our national sins and ask God’s grace and mercy to restore this land. The following is another opportunity to pray for our state and nation.
Illinois State Rep. Darren Bailey (R–District 109) has extended an invitation for all Illinoisans to join him in a Statewide Day of Prayer on Friday, April 24, 2020.
We encourage you to take time to pray on that day for our national and state leaders. Suggested prayer points and supporting Scripture are listed below.
#1. Pray for our nation and its leaders. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people–for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peacefully and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”
 #2. Pray for those struggling with anxiety. (Philippians 4:6-7)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
#3. Pray for those in need. (Psalm 22:4-5, 19)
“In You our ancestors put their trust; they trusted, and You delivered them. To You they cried out and were saved; in You they trusted and were not put to shame. But You, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me.”
We have found ourselves as a state and nation in a season of testing. My prayer for myself and CWA of Illinois is that we will be found faithful to prayer so that this season of testing will enable us to shine our lights for God’s glory!
I leave you with one of my favorite promises from the Bible: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us– whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15
Thank you for praying!
Pandemic Restricts Abortions in South Dakota
By | South Dakota | No Comments
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  –Psalm 139: 13
While non-essential businesses are closed and elective medical procedures have been postponed, including services pertaining to women’s health, many abortion facilities across the nation are still performing abortions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, along with governors in Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio, Oklahoma, etc. have banned abortion procedures in their states as non-essential, only to have their executive orders challenged in court.
South Dakota citizens are asking about Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls, our state’s only abortion facility. For decades, abortionists for the Sioux Falls Planned Parenthood flew into South Dakota from St. Paul, Minnesota, two days a week to perform abortions. However, with the COVID-19 travel restrictions in place where Minnesota has shelter-in-place directives, the abortionists are prohibited from coming to South Dakota. Gov. Kristi Noem’s guidelines also postponed elective surgeries.
While Planned Parenthood is still open for other “services,” such as birth control, we are grateful that babies are not being killed in South Dakota at this time either by surgical or medical abortions. Medical abortions (RU-486) have accounted for over 40% of South Dakota abortions in the past. Our South Dakota laws require that both surgical abortions and medical abortions necessitate a 72-hour waiting period.  Additionally, informed consent must be performed personally by the abortionists.
We pray,
Creator God, we praise You that life is not intentionally being destroyed in South Dakota during this pandemic. We thank You that we are all created in Your image and are precious in Your sight. We pray that all life, born and unborn, be respected and valued as we go forward.  Guide those women who are seeking an abortion now and following the pandemic – that their hearts would be changed to give life to their babies.  We desire that a mother’s womb be the safest place for pre-born babies.
“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 31:8-9
Day 21 – Prayer to the Glory of God
By | Blog, Covid-19 | No Comments
You reign on high, Lord—
Clothed with majesty and splendor!
The clouds are Your chariot;
You ride on the wings of the wind (Psalm 104).
Like You, there is no other
Who can transform the heart;
Who can quench the soul’s thirst;
Who can alleviate the anguished mind.
You said, and it was done.
You established the boundaries of the waters.
You cause the grass to grow for the livestock.
At Your rebuke, the storm subsides.
There is no other like You.
The birds are taken care of,
Flowers are clothed; by Your hand
The moon proclaims the seasons.
O Lord, in wisdom You made all,
And creation proclaims Your glory.
The Earth is full of it,
Even its perils remind us we are not gods.
When trouble comes, all look to You,
Our Creator, whom we know can deliver us.
You have done it before,
Your Holy Word testifies of Your great works.
Do it again Father,
Bring glory to Your name through COVID-19.
Send forth Your Spirit and cleanse us
From the sin that ensnares us.
Do not turn Your face from us,
Hear our humble cry.
It is You we seek, You alone,
Our only sure foundation.
May Your glory endure forever,
May we rejoice in Your works for generations.
We will sing praises to You with thanksgiving,
And rejoice in all Your proclamations.
Now, through this pandemic, and beyond,
To face with boldness and faith
The trials of our age, the cross of this day,
Until that glorious day where we’ll rise from death.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
Day 20 – Prayer for Our Cities
By | Blog, Covid-19 | No Comments
The Lord reigns on high,
Let the nations be glad!
For righteousness and justice
Are the foundations of His throne.
And of His kingdom, there shall be no end.
He loves and is love,
His heart moves with compassion
For the children of men.
For we are like sheep without a Shepherd,
We run towards trouble, not realizing
That calamity awaits— death is inevitable.
Help us, Good Shepherd.
We pray for our cities, LORD;
So much turmoil affecting so many.
Help us reprioritize in these desperate times,
Teach us to number our days.
Give us love for You and one another.
Give us wisdom and discernment.
We know not what we do, so many times,
Forgive us. Renew us.
We pray against the evil schemes
Of the enemy. He is a liar and a murder.
From the beginning, he was so.
Help us resist His temptations.
Preserve our lives, LORD,
Help us have peace in the middle of the storm,
Give us faith, and love,
Give us hearts full of thanksgiving.
We depend on You. We
Do not put our hope in medicine.
Policy, leadership or might
But in the Lord of Hosts, the Holy One of Israel.
Be with every governor and every member
Involved in dealing with this threat.
Keep their eyes on truth, and
Frustrate evil at every turn.
In Christ, we pray,
Amen!
Pro-Life Members of Congress Call for Protections in the Pandemic
By | Blog, Legislative Updates, News and Events | No Comments
This week pro-life members of Congress voiced serious concerns about abortion activists’ efforts to use the coronavirus crisis to expand access to abortion-inducing drugs and use fetal tissue from aborted babies in research for coronavirus vaccines.
With most U.S. senators and representatives observing shelter-in-place guidelines in their home states, the task of writing, reviewing and signing congressional letters is even more complicated. CWA’s legislative team supported member offices initiating these letters, adding to the success of gaining over 150 signatures on each.
Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Mississippi) and Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio) led a bicameral letter to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Stephen Hahn, signed by 38 Senators and 121 Representatives, raising urgent concerns about at-home abortion drugs.  During this time of suffering through a world-wide pandemic, abortion activists are using the crisis to push for easier access to medication-induced abortions through mail-order and telemedicine.
In the letter, the lawmakers report on a series of reports indicating that mifeprex, the first drug taken for a medication abortion, can cause five to seven percent of women to require follow-up surgery or emergency room care – a reckless burden on health care resources in our communities.
The lawmakers also urged the FDA to conduct rigorous oversight into ongoing studies dispensing abortion drugs to women remotely which is a violation of the FDA’s required Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS).  The Gynuity TelAbortion project launched in 2015 is continuously testing medication abortion drugs on women dispensed directly by mail.  The project now prescribes medication abortion in 13 states:  Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
CWALAC has long urged the Food and Drug Administration to strictly adhere to the REMS to enforce the use of dangerous abortion drugs that pose serious health and safety risks to women and their babies.  In 2002, we filed a 92-page Citizen Petition with the FDA in partnership with the Christian Medical Association and the Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists seeking the withdrawal of the FDA’s unlawful, expedited approval of mifepristone (RU-486), the second drug taken in a medication abortion, in the closing weeks of the Clinton Administration.
Concerning fetal tissue research, separate but similar letters to President Trump were delivered this week urging him to maintain pro-life protections in the search for treatments and vaccines for the coronavirus.  Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) led the letter signed by 35 Senators as a staunch rebuttal to the request of 15 pro-abortion state attorneys general who are seeking waivers to the ban on fetal tissue research for COVID-19.
“These attempts to exploit the current crisis faced by our nation undermine your leadership and the promising research that is already underway,” the Senators wrote, “Holding the line ethically gives us the ability to put resources toward better science that is already showing promise against the coronavirus. Therefore, we urge you to stand strong in rejecting these appeals for taxpayer dollars to be used for the practice of using aborted babies in experiments.”
In the House, Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado) led the letter to President Trump with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California), Whip Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana), Pro-Life Caucus Chairman Chris Smith (R-New Jersey) and over 120 Members of Congress urging him to stand firm in the quest for ethical and effective treatments for the coronavirus.
Citing many promising developments in ethical research, the members conclude:
“Thank you, Mr. President, for your decision to halt the grisly practice of using aborted babies for experiments. We urge you to maintain your current fetal tissue research policy and to redirect funds toward ethical, successful alternatives to combat COVID-19.”
We remain grateful for members of Congress, the Trump Administration and pro-life governors who are not letting up on their commitment to protecting life in this pandemic.
Day 15 – Praying the Full Armor of God
By | Blog, CEO, Covid-19 | No Comments
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our CWA leaders—
Their many gifts and talents.
Lord, we ask you now to anoint them with your Holy Spirit
As we commission them to serve our nation.
Together, we put on the full armor of God
So that we can take a rock-solid stand
Against the devil’s schemes.
Lord, help us all to remember:
That our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
But against the rulers, against authorities,
Against the powers of this dark world
And against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
We pray that your church will put on your armor,
That as we endure in this day of evil, we won’t stop standing our ground,
And after we have done everything, to stand
Having weathered the buffeting of the trials of life and of darkness.
That no matter what; we may stand firm in You
Adorned with the belt of truth,
The breastplate of righteousness firmly in place,
And with our feet fitted with the readiness to share the gospel of peace.
Holy Lord, help us to take up the shield of faith
With which You can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
And give us the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
Which is the Word of God.
Father, many of us are struggling.
Our nation is struggling but, O Lord, help us not to struggle in vain.
We pray that you will heal our nation both physically and spiritually.
We pray for the weakest in our nation,
That you will place a hedge of protection around their bodies.
We pray especially for the elderly and those with other illnesses,
Protect them, Great Physician.
We pray for the doctors, nurses, first responders,
And all other health professionals
That you will keep them and their families safe.
We pray those of us who are well
That we will not grow weary but will serve
And love our neighbors. We pray
for the businesses and charities that are struggling.
We pray for peace for the family who is worried
About paying their rent or child’s school tuition.
Lord, we pray this trial is an awakening for this nation.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray our hearts are turned to You,
That our lips speak Your praise even in the darkness.
May we repent as a nation of our pride and selfishness.
Lord, we know that everything we have
Comes from You and therefore,
We recommit our lives, our families, and
Everything we have to You.
We pray for President Trump. Please,
Give him wisdom and discernment.
We pray for Vice President Pence.
Please bless their entire team with supernatural ability
To combat Covid-19. We pray for Mike Pompeo,
That you will guide him and our nation as we deal with others.
We pray for the church,
For the spiritual leaders among us,
We pray for boldness and courage to
Carry Your gospel with faithfulness.
Anoint us anew,
Amen
Action Item: Tell Gov. Inslee to Shut the Abortion Clinics!
By | Washington | No Comments
Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. Jay Inslee (Democrat) has shut down churches, schools, and mass gatherings?
Currently, across the United States, including Washington, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.
On March 18, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding 10 people. While many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers across Washington State insist on business as usual while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.
Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. Inslee and urge him to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Washington.
Gov. Inslee: 360-902-4111 | Online Contact Form
#2. Forward this email to family and friends.
Please pray:  Dear Father, we ask that you move on the heart of Gov. Inslee to seek You in all things, especially with regard to this issue of life.
“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
Thank you for taking action at this critical time.
Penny Nance: Coronavirus Keeps our Churches Closed on Easter, but our Faith Can Never be Taken From Us
By | Blog, News and Events, Religious Issues, Special Feature | No Comments
CEO and President Penny Nance published the following opinion piece on FoxNews.com this Easter weekend.
“Like millions of other families, my family’s Easter will be very different this year. Years and years of attending church services, gathering together afterward for a huge meal, wearing a new spring dress, socializing and enjoying fellowship won’t happen. Neighborhood Easter egg hunts are also a no-go.
For the first time in our nation’s history, the doors of America’s churches will be shut on Easter Sunday. Think about that shocking statement for a moment. At a time when we most need to draw strength from our faith, we cannot worship together.
This is hard for us. The American Psychological Association notes that during a period of social distancing, quarantine or isolation, people may experience increased fear, anxiety, depression, boredom, anger, frustration, irritability and stigmatization.”
Day 10 – Supplication to the Lord of Hosts
By | Blog, Covid-19 | No Comments
“For behold,
He who forms mountains,
And creates the wind,
Who declares to man
What his thought is,
And makes the morning darkness,
Who treads the height places of the earth –
The Lord God of hosts is His name.” Amos 4:13
Our Heavenly Father,
We come to your throne of grace and mercy
To worship You, seek Your face, and ask for Your favor.
You alone are the Lord God, the Creator of the heaven,
And earth, and the sea and all that is in them.
By faith, we obey Your Word
To not be anxious about anything,
But in every situation, by prayer and petition,
With thanksgiving, present our requests to You.
At this time of restricted movement throughout our country,
May we all not use this period as an opportunity for the flesh,
But through love serve one another and pray.
“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty;
only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh,
But through love served one another.  For all the law is fulfilled is one word,
Even in this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Galatians 5:13-14)
We pray for all who are suffering from the coronavirus.
Bring Your healing to them.  Help all those working in hospitals
As well as Emergency Medical Technicians and Law Enforcement officers;
Give them strength and health; protect them from contracting the Coronavirus.
Oh Lord, how we need You!
Our eyes have been opened to the great need of so many people for physical healing.
Lord Jesus, we also pray for those who have not sought forgiveness for their sins.
May we be used to touch the lives of others with the Gospel, that many may come to repentance.
Thank You, Lord God,
For boldness to speak the truth in love,
For Your Glory,
Amen.
Action Item: Tell Gov. J.B. Pritzker to Shut the Abortion Clinics!
By | Illinois | No Comments
Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. J.B. Pritzker (Democrat) is shutting churches, schools, and mass gatherings?
Currently, across the United States, including Illinois, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.
On March 18, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding 10 people. Many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, yet Planned Parenthood insists on business as usual and will continue to offer abortion services in six of their health centers across the state while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.
 Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Illinois Department of Human Services Secretary Grace B. Hou.  Urge them to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Illinois.
#2. Forward this email to family and friends.
Please pray:  Dear Father, we ask that you move on the hearts of Gov. Pritzker and Sec. Hou to seek You in all things, especially with regard to this issue of life.
“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 31:8-9
Thank you for taking action at this critical time.
Action Item: Tell Gov. John Bel Edwards to Shut the Abortion Clinics!
By | Louisiana | No Comments
Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. John Bel Edwards (Democrat) is shutting churches, schools, and mass gatherings, as Louisiana sees a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases?
Currently, across the United States, including Louisiana, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.
On March 18, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding ten people. On March 22, Gov. Edwards issued a “Stay At Home Order” and reissued it again to be effective until April 30 which included abortion clinics. While all three abortion clinics initially closed after the national and state directives were issued, several are now reopening. Many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, yet some abortion clinics in Louisiana insist on business as usual while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.
Abortion providers in Louisiana are putting profits over the safety and health of women as they prey on vulnerable women during a time of great uncertainty and fear.
Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. Edwards and Interim Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health Stephen Russo. Urge them to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Louisiana.
Gov. Edwards: (225)342-7015 | Online form
Sec. Russo: (225) 342-9500
#2. Forward this email to family and friends.
Please pray:
Heavenly Father, Your name is above all names. We are asking that You move on the hearts of Gov. Edwards and Sec. Russo to seek You in all things, especially with regard to this issue of life.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed.
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice.”  Proverbs 31:8-9
Day 5 – Prayer with a Heavy Heart
By | Blog, Covid-19 | No Comments
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to You with heavy hearts.
We come to You broken in spirit for our nation
In need of Your healing touch.
We trust in You, Oh Lord.
We know You never stop working on
Our behalf for we are Your beloved.
Please guard our hearts and minds in You
And surround us with Your presence.
Dear Father,
We pray the blood of Jesus over our President
For protection, health, favor, and guidance.
As it says in Psalm 52:8,
We trust in You confidently
Because You rescue us and keep us safe
For You are forever good and faithful.
We also pray for our medical teams.
Draw near to them and bless them with provision,
Peace of mind, and strength.
We pray for wisdom as we intercede
For our leaders in our states, churches, and families.
Psalm 91 says that we can dwell in the shelter of the Most High
and remain secure in the shadow of the Almighty,
Whose power no enemy can withstand.
We declare Psalm 32:7 and Psalm 18:2
You, Oh Lord, are our hiding place.
You will protect us from trouble,
And You surround us with songs and shouts of deliverance!
Oh Lord we declare that You are our rock and our fortress,
Our shield, the horn of our salvation,
Our high tower and our strength.
Worthy to be praised!
Please heal our nation and deliver us completely.
Encircle us with strength and set our feet securely.
Thank You for Your lovingkindness and for Your sovereignty.
In Jesus’ powerful name we pray, Amen.
Action Item: Tell Gov. Mills to Shut the Abortion Clinics!
By | Maine | No Comments
Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. Janet Mills (Democrat) is shutting churches, schools, and mass gatherings?
Currently, across the United States, including Maine, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.
On March 18, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding 10 people, and Gov. Mills has placed many restrictions on Mainers’ activities according to this directive.  While many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, Family Planning and other abortion providers across Maine insist on business as usual. These life-taking procedures consume critically needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.
Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. Mills.  Urge her to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Maine.
