Nance Talks Abortion and Racism on Fox News

By | CEO, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

Penny Nance, talks abortion and racism on Fox News @ Night with Shannon Bream. Among other things, Penny had this to say, “The true racism in this picture is to look at Planned Parenthood and its founder Margaret Sanger who called minorities ‘human weeds’, who worked to usher in forced sterilization. Pro-life women want to love them and care for them. The other side wants to exterminate them.”

CWA of Missouri Applauds Missouri Attorney General’s Request

By | Missouri | No Comments

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has asked the Supreme Court to formally review the 2019 “Missouri Stands for the Unborn Act” after a judge granted Planned Parenthood’s request for an injunction, stopping the law from being enacted.

Concerned Women for America of Missouri State Director Bev Ehlen had this to say about the review request, “We are pleased that the Missouri Attorney General has appealed to the United States Supreme Court concerning the pro-life bill. The Missouri General Assembly voted overwhelmingly (110-44 in the House and 24-10 in the Senate) to pass this bill. We hope the U.S. Supreme Court will take it up and decide it on behalf of the unborn.”

CEO Penny Nance Implores Legislators to Protect Life

By | Hyde Amendment, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

FOX News highlights a letter spearheaded by conservative leaders to encourage legislators to block federal funding of abortion. In the letter, Concerned Women for America CEO and President Penny Nance and other conservatives leaders call on lawmakers to defend life at all stages. Currently, pro-choice advocates seek to remove Hyde, which would allow our taxpayer money to fund abortions.

Over 100 prominent leaders signed the letter, but the next few weeks will be an uphill battle since Democrats maintain the majority in the House and Senate.

VP Kamala Harris’ Idea of Democracy: Abortion for All

By | Defense of Family, International, News and Events, Sexual Exploitation | No Comments

Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris participated at the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) with a speech focused on the importance of democracy. The Generation Equality Forum is an event convened by the United Nations (UN) with a goal of “advancing gender equity and equality around the world.”

According to the GEF, this includes the “determination to smash the patriarchy,” “empowering women and girls in all their diversity,” which includes persons who perceive themselves as women, “any job is a woman’s job” including prostitution, and “women’s rights are human rights,” a phrased launched by none other than Hillary Clinton during the 1995 Women’s Conference in Beijing.

The forum is meant to celebrate the Beijing Platform, adopted in 1995 by 189 nations which include “reproductive health and reproductive rights.” After the platform’s adoption by the countries and UN officials, radical feminists in some countries (including the United States) started to use sexual and reproductive health as a euphemism for abortion, even though this was not the stated agreement.

Radical feminists are working to ensure that abortion becomes legal worldwide, regardless of a country’s right to set its own laws and exercise its national sovereignty. Abortion activists are working to build up new platforms forcing countries to accept abortion, and they are being aided by international organizations and some of the wealthiest governments around the globe. This sends a message that abortion is the epicenter for women’s equality.

Another instance earlier this summer, the G7 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, United States) met to help countries overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. In their conclusions, the G7 reaffirmed their commitment “to promote and protect the sexual and reproductive health and rights of all individuals and in supporting diversity, including sexual orientation and gender identities.”[1] They also committed to a “close alignment with the GEF.”

The truth is that this forum is not for everyone. It seeks to help only those who support abortion, radical feminists, transgender groups, LGBTQ+ groups, and any other supporters of their radical ideology.

Still, Vice President Kamala Harris decided to speak at this forum and talk about the cornerstone of America: democracy. There is nothing more anti-democratic than these international forums, where only those who agree with their agenda can have a voice and governments are giving money (including the Biden Administration) to fund and export an agenda that contravenes the deepest foundations and beliefs of the peoples’ nations. Nothing could be more anti-democratic than bypassing the authority of the legitimately elected representatives of a nation.

A true forum of democracy includes women who do not see a child as an obstacle, moms who want to dedicate their time to raising children, women who love their husbands and their families. True democracy means that even those who disagree will get a voice and have their vote be respected.

Concerned Women for America represents those women who are excluded from Vice President Harris’ idea of democracy. We will continue to work tirelessly to be a part of these forums and represent the hundreds of thousands of women who are proud of their femininity as created by God.

No Hiding from the Hyde Amendment

By | Hyde Amendment, Legislative Updates, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

Appropriations season is upon us. As President Biden unveils his $6 trillion Fiscal Year 2022 budget proposal to Congress, it is time again to protect longstanding prohibitions on the use of federal funds for elective abortions. We currently face an unprecedented threat to the time-honored safeguards of the Hyde Amendment and related provisions.

The Hyde Amendment was introduced in 1976 to stop the flow of federal taxpayer dollars for abortion following the Roe v. Wade decision. Every annual spending bill over the last four decades has included this provision, defending the conscience rights of a strong majority of Americans who would otherwise be forced to pay for the destruction of human life. Additional Hyde-like pro-life amendments have since emerged to apply these critical restrictions to other relevant federal programs, both domestic and international.

Abortion giant Planned Parenthood and its industry allies have tightened their grip on the highest echelons of government power to finance their cause. Yet most Americans agree that the abortion industry should not receive federal funds and that preborn life deserves protection. A recent Marist poll found that 76% of Americans support restrictions on abortions after the first trimester, at the very least. Funding for overseas abortion is opposed by 77% of Americans and even 64% of pro-choice voters. Further, 58% of Americans support the original Hyde Amendment.

Unfortunately, President Biden has abandoned his previous position and promise to defend Hyde, a troubling sign that he is beholden to radical leftist interests rather than the will of the American people. Many in the Democrat majority in Congress have pledged to repeal these life-saving measures, raising the stakes even higher for the battle ahead. If they cannot get their way on Hyde, some have even proposed grant programs to directly fund Planned Parenthood clinics.

In anticipation of the Biden budget request, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee joined dozens of others in the pro-life community in a letter to House and Senate leadership urging them to guarantee inclusion of the Hyde Amendment and related provisions in FY 2022 appropriations. Nearly 2.5 million precious lives have been preserved since Hyde’s inception. We cannot sit idly by while this Administration seeks to open to floodgates and send our hard-earned tax dollars to those preying on the most vulnerable among us. As appropriations season commences, we must hold Congress accountable for holding the line on Hyde.

SBA Administrator Withholds the Truth on Funding to Planned Parenthood

By | Legislative Updates, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

The Small Business Administration (SBA) has obstructed proper Congressional oversight of the COVID-19 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through its refusal to share information on over $90 million in total loans to Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).

At a recent Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship hearing, Ranking Member Rand Paul demanded answers on the unlawful distribution of funds to PPFA affiliates deemed ineligible for the aid program. SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman dodged the inquiry, failing to recognize the critical need for transparency on the use of precious taxpayer dollars. Under her leadership, the SBA approved at least $17.6 million in additional loans to PPFA, including a maxed-out $10 million loan to Planned Parenthood of Greater New York just before the program exhausted funds in early May 2021. This despite ongoing inquiries regarding $80 million in aid yet to be returned by 38 affiliates. Paul underscored the role of the Hyde Amendment to prevent federal money from going to abortions, thus preserving Americans’ conscience protection rights.

The SBA’s failure to enforce the rules against Planned Parenthood sends a clear message. This Administration will stop at nothing to protect the abortion industry’s survival, even at the expense of our nation’s small, main street businesses who are truly in need.

We stand behind the efforts of Sen. Rand Paul and others to uncover the truth and hold bad actors accountable. Our leaders must not stop until funds are returned, necessary legal action is taken, and the proper controls are instituted to prevent such a scandal from occurring again.

Breaking: Biden SBA Approves $10 Million PPP Loan to New York Planned Parenthood

By | Legislative Updates, News and Events, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

Time-sensitive action item at the end of this article.

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York has just been awarded a $10 million loan in the final hours of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which Congress passed to provide struggling small businesses a way to keep their employees during the pandemic shutdown. THIS IS NOTHING SHORT OF A SCANDAL.

Last week, Biden’s Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it ran out of funding for the PPP and stopped accepting new applications. That same day, a $10 million loan was approved for Planned Parenthood Greater New York. You may recall that Congress passed restrictions to the PPP that were supposed to disqualify Planned Parenthood affiliates from being eligible.

But the Biden Administration doesn’t care about playing by the rules. Fully funding Planned Parenthood is a top priority for President Biden and Democrat abortion advocates in Congress.

In addition to sending millions of dollars out the door through the Paycheck Protection Program, Biden is on a fast track to rewrite the rules for the Title X family planning program.

Two years ago, the Trump Administration succeeded in restoring Title X to its stated purpose of protecting human life and prohibiting federal funds from going to places providing abortion counseling, referrals, or services.  As a result, Planned Parenthood was shut out of the program.

Now, Biden is working to revoke the 2019 rules in order to RE-fund Planned Parenthood through Title X.

These proposed rules are now open for public comment until May 17.

Opposing the Biden Title X Rule is a top priority for CWALAC, and we need your help.  You can send an official comment and be counted among those who oppose allowing the Title X family planning program from being used as a vehicle to promote abortion and prop up abortion providers.

Let’s Stop Funding Planned Parenthood Courses!

By | North Dakota | No Comments

The Safe Spaces course, i.e., sex education course. for K-12 teachers, is being offered again through Distance and Continuing Education at North Dakota State University (NDSU). The instructor, Katie Christensen, is the State Director of External Affairs, Planned Parenthood, North Central States. Materials recommended for children in Safe Spaces include, It’s Perfectly Normal by Robbie Harris. The book for elementary-aged children contains graphic drawings of female and male anatomy and covers topics such as sexual intercourse, abortion, and homosexuality.

In February, the North Dakota Senate passed SB 2030, a higher education challenge matching grant program that provides North Dakota universities and colleges matching grant funds for student scholarships. The bill passed with an amendment, taken from the North Dakota Century Code that prohibits state entities from partnering with an abortion provider or promoter. Watch the Senate floor debate here.

The issue of the amendment is simple – either NDSU chooses to continue its partnership with Planned Parenthood or NDSU drops its affiliation with the largest abortion provider in America and receives state funds for their student grant program.

The North Dakota House Appropriations Committee for Education is bringing the bill, which includes the aforementioned amendment, to the House floor for a vote. Advocates for the Safe Space (Sex Education) course claim the amendment is an afront of academic freedom. The North Dakota House members need to hear from YOU!

Huge Win for CWA: Planned Parenthood Affiliate Finally Admits its Racists Roots

By | LBB, News and Events, Planned Parenthood, Sanctity of Life | No Comments

Concerned Women for America (CWA) has been fighting for years to expose Planned Parenthood’s (PP) legacy of death which has its roots in the racist eugenics movement. As PP celebrated 100 years a few years back, CWA launched a campaign called “100 No More,” exposing the organization’s racists founding through eugenicist Margaret Sanger. CWA also noted the disparate impact of PP’s policies on minority communities to this day.

Though African Americans are only 12.6% of the U.S. population, they make up 35.4% of all abortions, over 1 in 3. And census data shows that 79% of PP’s surgical abortion facilities are within walking distance of minority neighborhoods. Here is a shocking clip of Margaret Sanger in her own words]:

But PP and liberals have stood by Margaret Sanger’s side for decades. They defended her. They would even give out the infamous Margaret Sanger Award, which they called their “highest honor.” Proud recipients included Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and Secretary Hillary Clinton.

The same liberals who prop themselves up as champions of minorities would fight us every time we would shed light on PP’s racist roots. They were proud when the Smithsonian put a bust of Margaret Sanger in the National Portrait Gallery. CWA fought them hard on it and called on them to remove it, yet they emphatically refused and were elated to have the pro-abortion display, ignoring the explicit racism attached to it.

But time has caught up to their lying, hypocritical schemes, and now they’ve been forced to acknowledge their racist legacy. The news just broke this week that Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) is being forced to remove the Margaret Sanger name from its abortion clinic as “a necessary and overdue step to reckon with our legacy and acknowledge Planned Parenthood’s contributions to historical reproductive harm within communities of color.”

The change does not come out of self-reflection, but out of pressure from its base. As The Washington Times reported, in a June 18 open letter, 350 current and former staff members and about 800 members wrote, “We know that Planned Parenthood has a history and a present steeped in white supremacy, and we, the staff, are motivated to do the difficult work needed to improve.”

In today’s climate, PP’s racism is no longer able to hide behind their friends in the media and the politicians they support. So, PPGNY has announced the removal of Sanger’s name, and perhaps we are seeing the beginning of the truth coming out. It is definitely an excellent development for truth and life.

The fact that it is the New York Planned Parenthood facility is significant. CWA has also talked about the deep abortion extremism in NYC, where more African American babies were killed by abortion (31,328) than born (24,758) in 2012. We can only hope that the city wakes up to this racial genocide and turns against the inherent racism within the pro-abortion movement.

To be sure, PP is only changing a name, while changing none of its racist policies, like opposing bills that have tried to ban abortions based on race. They have announced no willingness to change their shameful policy on taking money for abortions based on race.

CWA will continue to fight for justice for women. There is much work to be done to protect the inherent value of every human life. But perhaps this development shows us that Americans are starting to wake up to the abortion con and will demand change.

It is definitely something CWA had been hoping to see, and we give thanks to God for this small crack in Big Abortion’s stranglehold on our nation.

Nance: Norma McCorvey’s Testimony Reveals Roe v. Wade’s Foundation of Lies

By | Blog, CEO, Family Issues, Feminist / Women's Issues, Legal, News and Events, Planned Parenthood, Sanctity of Life, Social / Cultural Issues, Uncategorized | No Comments

CWA’s CEO and President Penny Young Nance wrote the following op-ed published on CNS News.

“It is always sobering to stand and contemplate the destruction and devastation left along the pathway of “Hurricane” Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that invented a right to abortion. It is worse than any of the modern-day disasters we have experienced. More than sixty million babies now lost.

In light of a new documentary airing Friday — “AKA Jane Roe” — today is yet another day of mourning as we now hear a new tragic explanation that only adds to the injustice and confusion that is Roe.

The Supreme Court case was not only plainly an unconstitutional exercise in judicial activism, it was also the result of a wicked plan to deceive the public into something it never wanted. And now, this 2020 documentary, produced by Nick Sweeney, whose body of work informs viewers of his agenda, paints a picture of even more injustice and deception surrounding the complicated and sorrow-filled life of Norma McCorvey.”

Pandemic Restricts Abortions in South Dakota

By | South Dakota | No Comments

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  –Psalm 139: 13

While non-essential businesses are closed and elective medical procedures have been postponed, including services pertaining to women’s health, many abortion facilities across the nation are still performing abortions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, along with governors in Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio, Oklahoma, etc. have banned abortion procedures in their states as non-essential, only to have their executive orders challenged in court.

South Dakota citizens are asking about Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls, our state’s only abortion facility. For decades, abortionists for the Sioux Falls Planned Parenthood flew into South Dakota from St. Paul, Minnesota, two days a week to perform abortions. However, with the COVID-19 travel restrictions in place where Minnesota has shelter-in-place directives, the abortionists are prohibited from coming to South Dakota. Gov. Kristi Noem’s guidelines also postponed elective surgeries.

While Planned Parenthood is still open for other “services,” such as birth control, we are grateful that babies are not being killed in South Dakota at this time either by surgical or medical abortions. Medical abortions (RU-486) have accounted for over 40% of South Dakota abortions in the past. Our South Dakota laws require that both surgical abortions and medical abortions necessitate a 72-hour waiting period.  Additionally, informed consent must be performed personally by the abortionists.

We pray,
Creator God, we praise You that life is not intentionally being destroyed in South Dakota during this pandemic. We thank You that we are all created in Your image and are precious in Your sight. We pray that all life, born and unborn, be respected and valued as we go forward.  Guide those women who are seeking an abortion now and following the pandemic – that their hearts would be changed to give life to their babies.  We desire that a mother’s womb be the safest place for pre-born babies.

In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,

Action Item: Tell Gov. Inslee to Shut the Abortion Clinics!

By | Washington | No Comments

Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. Jay Inslee (Democrat) has shut down churches, schools, and mass gatherings?

Currently, across the United States, including Washington, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.

On March 18, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding 10 people. While many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers across Washington State insist on business as usual while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.

Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. Inslee and urge him to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Washington.

By | Louisiana | No Comments

Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. John Bel Edwards (Democrat) is shutting churches, schools, and mass gatherings, as Louisiana sees a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases?

Currently, across the United States, including Louisiana, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.

On March 18, Vice President Mike Pence issued a mass gathering ban exceeding ten people. On March 22, Gov. Edwards issued a “Stay At Home Order” and reissued it again to be effective until April 30 which included abortion clinics. While all three abortion clinics initially closed after the national and state directives were issued, several are now reopening. Many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, yet some abortion clinics in Louisiana insist on business as usual while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.

Abortion providers in Louisiana are putting profits over the safety and health of women as they prey on vulnerable women during a time of great uncertainty and fear.

Action Item: Tell Gov. Tom Wolf to Shut the Abortion Clinics!

By | Pennsylvania | No Comments

Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. Tom Wolf (Democrat) has closed non-essential businesses, schools, mass gatherings, and requiring Pennsylvanians to postpone important medical procedures?

Currently, across the United States, including Pennsylvania, services that constitute essential health care are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Gov. Wolf has shut down all “elective medical procedures” yet in our Commonwealth, the abortion industry is open for business as usual and now is asking for donations of hand sanitizer, home sewn masks, shoe covers, and surgical hats so they can continue doing abortions!   If businesses, churches, and schools are closed, why should Planned Parenthood remain open?

Gov. Wolf needs to know that Pennsylvanians like you believe that abortion is NEVER an essential service.

Immediate Action Needed

#1. Please contact Gov. Wolf and Secretary of Health, Rachel Levine.  Urge them to join other states across our nation by closing abortion clinics to stop elective abortions in Pennsylvania. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Pennsylvania.

#2. Kindly forward this email to family and friends.

Thank you for taking action at this critical time.

Action Item: Tell Gov. Northam to Shut the Abortion Clinics!

By | Virginia | No Comments

Why are abortion businesses still operating when Gov. Ralph Northam (Democrat) is shutting churches, schools, and mass gatherings?

Currently, across the United States, including Virginia, services that constitute essential health care for women, such as routine Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, are being postponed in order to reduce everyone’s risk of exposure to COVID-19 and to conserve scarce medical resources. Yet, the abortion industry is open for business as usual.

On March 25, 2020, Gov. Northam signed a Public Health Emergency Order, which directed all hospitals to stop performing elective surgeries or procedures.  The press release states that this directive does not apply to family planning services, i.e. abortion facilities. While many healthcare agencies have ceased their non-essential medical, surgical, and dental procedures, Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers across Virginia insist on business as usual – performing around 42 abortions per day while consuming Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment that COVID-19 patients need.

We need to urge the Governor and the Secretary of Health and Human Resources (HHR) Daniel Carey, M.D. to safeguard women and our healthcare providers by:

  • Ensuring that emergency response funds are not diverted to the abortion industry,
  • Ceasing operations and joining other healthcare providers who have ceased elective procedures,
  • Urging abortion providers to donate their PPE and other equipment to coronavirus response,
  • Safeguarding women who frequently require additional emergency response from complications.

Immediate Action Needed
#1. Please contact Gov. Northam and HHR Sec. Daniel Carey.  Urge them to join other states by closing abortion clinics and redirecting PPE and other medical equipment to our state’s much-needed coronavirus response. Be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Virginia.

  • Gov. Northam: (804)786-2211 or by email.
  • Secretary Carey: (804)786-7765 or by email

#2. Forward this email to family and friends.

Please pray: Dear Father, we ask that you move on the hearts of Gov. Northam and Sec. Carey to seek You in all things, especially with regard to this issue of life.

“Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 31:8-9
