At Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Illinois, we stand firmly on the truth that the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Therefore, please join us for this month’s Call to Prayer.
The Illinois State Legislature, formally known as the Illinois General Assembly (IGA), is made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate (Upper Chamber) has 59 members, currently 40 Democrats and 19 Republicans, while the House (Lower Chamber) has 118 members, currently 78 Democrats and 40 Republicans. The IGA is in its 104th General Assembly, which convened on January 8, 2026, and is scheduled to adjourn on May 31.
This month, we are specifically praying for the highest-ranking leaders of our 177-member IGA:
- Don Harmon, Senate President (D–District 39)
- Chris Welch, Speaker of the House (D–District 7)
Please join us in praying that the Lord would:
- Light a fire in their hearts to know Him more and unto salvation if applicable.
- Bless their marriages and
- Put Christ-followers in their offices and personal lives who will give wise counsel.
- Direct them to make significant budget cuts to ease the financial burdens on our families.
- Give them the courage to protect human
- Give them respect for girls in
- Enable them to see the importance of parental authority in education.
