“He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?”
– Micah 6:8
At Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Illinois, we acknowledge that God asks for justice, kindness, and humility of all mankind. This includes both the citizens of this great state and those who govern it. As the 2026 gubernatorial race begins, let us focus on these traits within this month’s Call to Prayer.
J.B. Pritzker has served as governor of Illinois since January 14, 2019. On November 3, 2026, Illinois voters will have the opportunity to send Pritzker back to the governor’s mansion or elect a new governor.
Following the March 17, 2026, primary election, Darren Bailey has been selected as the Republican candidate and will run against Democrat Gov. Pritzker in the General Election.
Please join us in praying for the candidates and the upcoming election.
Pray that the Lord would
- Raise up the candidate He desires for our state.
- Strengthen both candidates, physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
- Give grace, love, and mercy to their families during these next seven months.
- Place a hedge of protection around the campaign teams and grant them wisdom, discernment, and fresh insight as they support and guide the campaigns.
- Extend mercy over Illinois—that God would hear our prayers and guide the future leadership of our state.
- Stir a desire to vote in every Christian’s heart.
