An Illinois Senate Bill We Can Support!

It seems that so often, as conservative-minded women, we stand in opposition to legislation in the Illinois General Assembly. However, there is currently a bill we can wholeheartedly support.

SB3945, sponsored by Sen. Erica Harriss (R-District 56), is scheduled for committee this week. This important legislation – the Adult Content Age Verification Act – seeks to protect children online by holding commercial entities accountable if they fail to implement reasonable age-verification measures for material harmful to minors.

Protecting our children from sexual exploitation is a core value of Concerned Women for America (CWA). We are grateful to Sen. Harriss for introducing this bill and for her continued commitment over the past three years to safeguard our youth from online predatory practices. This is the first time the bill has advanced this far. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Urgent Action Steps:

  • Contact your state senator and ask him/her to support, or better yet, to co-sponsor SB3945.

This is a commonsense bill that should receive bipartisan support, so don’t be reluctant to reach out. Let’s be bold in asking our senators to stand with CWA and Sen. Harriss to protect our youth.

Being informed on this issue is both important and impactful.

Please Pray:

Pray that God would allow this bill to grow in strength and for partisan walls to be overcome. Ask God to put the well-being of our children and youth on the hearts of our state legislators, no matter their political leanings.

Thank you for standing with us to protect our children.
