Impeachment 2.0: What are Dems so scared of?

By | National Sovereignty, News and Events, YWA | No Comments

Remember in 2019 when the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Trump? In a blatant display of how out of touch the average American is when it comes to matters of civics, Gen Zers and Millennials took to the internet to celebrate that Donald Trump was no longer president. Yikes! Civics professors everywhere were cringing and hopefully revising their syllabi to cover the U.S. Constitution. That’s a stretch, but we can hope. As we all know, Trump was acquitted by the Senate and remained in office.

Here we are, two years later, experiencing an embarrassing déjà vu as the House gets ready to start President Trump’s impeachment trial 2.0 with about as much of a chance for success as the first time. On January 11, 2021, House Resolution 24 proposed the impeachment of President Trump on the basis that he incited insurrection. The critical difference this time around – Donald Trump is no longer the president.

First, a basic review of impeachment. Impeachment is an important tenet of our system of checks and balances, which is found in Article II, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution. “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” The House has the sole power of impeachment, but the Senate has the sole power to try all impeachments and actually remove individuals from office. Two-thirds of the Senate must agree in order for removal to take place. In light of the fact that 45 Senators have vowed not to vote in favor of impeachment, this whole process is DOA and a complete waste of time. By the way, a former president has never, in the history of our nation, been impeached.

So why are Democrats, and a few Republicans, so insistent on wasting their most critical first 100 days of a new Congress trying to impeach a former president? The short and most probable answer – they are afraid of you.

A president who is impeached is barred from ever running for public office again, and as Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) expressed last month, that is their exact intent. The Biden Administration and Democrats on the Hill know that the “blue wave” was a myth. Seventy-four million Americans voted for Donald Trump, and while Biden, Harris, and the Dems talk a big talk, they’re scared it could happen again. If they were confident that their policies are truly better and their administration had more support among the American populace, they wouldn’t have to worry about Trump running again. He would just lose, right?

In fear, they are trying to bypass you, the people, by illegitimately and unconstitutionally removing someone from the possibility of public office. They do not trust you and are desperate to control the outcome of our future elections.

They might have sent Trump to the Sunshine State, but half of America voted for Donald Trump because they love this country, respect the Constitution, and stand on their convictions. They aren’t going anywhere. There is no concern that this impeachment trial will result in anything except a colossal waste of time, but it should make us ask why? Here the Democrats are with the White House, the House, and the Senate, and they’re playing defense and a bad one at that.

Why are they willing to waste their time and our money? Could it be that they are scared? I think so. They’re scared of Donald Trump and you.

Political Revenge Impeachment Not Good for the Country

Washington, D.C. – This evening, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and House Democrats will formally transmit the article of impeachment against former President Donald J. Trump to the United States Senate. House impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) is expected to read the article of impeachment on the Senate floor at roughly 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), had this to say concerning the prospect of a political impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate:

“At a time when the country needs healing and reconciliation, the Democrats’ insistence on this constitutionally dubious political assault on a former president and his approximately 74 million supporters is unconscionable.

“There are serious issues that require immediate congressional action—from the pandemic to the economy to our national defense. That Democratic leadership finds it appropriate to waste the country’s time on yet another attempt at getting their political nemesis, Donald Trump, shows what little regard they have for the public’s needs. They are willing to inflict further damage on our frail national social fabric in order to get their political revenge.

“Senators from both sides of the aisle should consider what is best for the country as they proceed. They should not risk the nation’s long-term welfare for petty political resentment. They should put an end to this impeachment charade and move forward with the people’s business.”

Statement from Penny Nance on Impeachment Proceedings

By | CEO, News and Events | No Comments

Concerned Women for America‘s CEO and President Penny Nance released this statement regarding the impeachment proceedings against President Trump:

“If President-elect Joe Biden wants to bring the country together, we need congressional leaders to focus on a productive and peaceful transition of power, not foment political punishment. Our emotions are raw, and this nation needs time to heal. The violence and destruction at the U.S. Capitol last week is indefensible. Wielding political power to weaponize retribution and punish political opponents is antithetical to American ideals. Joe Biden has the opportunity to seek unity and healing, but that will not happen by creating greater strife and rubbing salt into our wounds.”

CWALAC: Not Guilty Indeed

Washington, D.C.Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), had this to say after the U.S. Senate vote to acquit President Donald Trump:

“Now that the anticlimactic partisan impeachment is over, we hope Senate Democrats take a break from their relentless abuse of power to try to remove the President and instead join him in continuing the great comeback he outlined in last night’s State of the Union Address.

“That is what I hear from our CWA supporters around the country. The overwhelming sense is that the whole impeachment sham was a total waste of time and taxpayer money.

“That is why, in the middle of all this political theatrics, the President’s approval numbers are the highest he has ever had. The people can recognize an injustice when they see it, and what the Democrats did to the President with this impeachment process was completely unjust.

“The President should be praised for the way he has handled the people’s business while a whole party dedicated itself full time to frustrating his every effort on behalf of the American people. They have failed today, as they have on every attempt before.

“The President won today, and with him the American people, too.”

Impeachment Questions Day Two

By | Blog, LBB, News and Events | No Comments

The highlight of day two was Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court John Roberts’ refusal to ask a question by Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). Some speculated it was because Sen. Paul would identify the whistleblower. But Sen. Paul released the content of his question, surprising the media. Take a look:

As you can hear, though Sen. Paul mentions some names in his question, he does not mention the whistleblower. He argued his question goes to the motive for impeachment, which is something we have talked about since the beginning.

It seems incontestable that a group of liberal operatives actively looked to impeach the president since before he was sworn into office. This is a matter of public record. Because of that, a discussion into the people involved in starting this whole process would seem highly relevant to try to assess the validity of the arguments being presented.

Whatever the case, the Chief Justice, as the presiding officer made the call and it cannot be challenged at the moment. Perhaps a discussion might be in order tomorrow when the Senate will entertain a series of motions that will determine the direction of the trial going forward.

That is why it is imperative that you call and write to your Senators today! Click here to visit our Impeachment Central, where we give you all the information you need to unite your voice to the hundreds of thousands of CWA supporters around the country.

Calls Needed to End the Fake Impeachment Charade

By | Maine | No Comments

The impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump is at a climax, and it is critical that both Sen. Susan Collins (Republican) and Sen. Angus King (Democrat) hear from you TODAY.

Contact the offices of Sens. Collins and King and urge them to vote against the need to hear from more witnesses. It’s unnecessary, and it would prolong the impeachment process and cause even more harm to the country. Please visit CWA Impeachment to view information and talking points shared throughout the Senate process.

Three Ways to Take Action

  1. Call the offices of Sens. Collins and King. Sen. Collins: (202) 224-2523; Sen. King (202) 224-5344. Be sure to let them know you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Maine.
  2. Visit CWA’s Impeachment Central, where you can write to Sens. Collins and King to let know what you think about this impeachment.
  3. Please send this e-alert to friends and family immediately.

Please Pray:  Father, we call on You to protect President Donald J. Trump, who has been demonized ever since he announced that he was running for the presidency. The injustice is overwhelming.  We ask You to restore justice in our land.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen

Ezekiel 45:9 “Thus saith the Lord God; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord God.”

Fake Concern on Impeachment

By | Blog, LBB, News and Events | No Comments

It is maddening to try to follow the liberal’s “AstroTurf” outrage about President Trump’s supposed impeachable conduct. Everything they allege President Trump of doing the Democrats have unquestionably done themselves.

The Russia hoax was their first attempt. “He colluded with the Russians to interfere with the election,” they yelled. Only, it turns out the Mueller Report found no evidence of this. In fact, what we found is that liberals had conspired to produce the infamous fake Russian dossier and used it to abuse our judicial system to violate candidate Trump’s civil rights.

The FBI has now actually apologized for the abuse of power as outlined in the recent Inspector General report where the FBI actually falsified documents in order to continue its illegal investigation of candidate Trump.

It is painful to watch Adam Schiff, the mastermind behind the impeachment, talk about the scandal that is President Trump withholding “vital lethal aid” to Ukraine for a couple of weeks. But then you find out that President Obama never gave the aid during his entire time in office. President Trump actually gave the aid and only delayed further future assistance for a few weeks. The Ukrainians didn’t even know there was a delay until the press created the scandal.

They went on and on for weeks about the “quid pro quo,” the worst kind of impeachable offense in their mind. Then you see a clip of Joe Biden bragging about the tactic during the Obama Administration. They have spent millions of dollars investigating President Trump’s alleged quid pro quo, with nothing to show, but somehow to investigate the Biden incident is beyond the pale.

This impeachment is a joke. It will forever be a stain on our country and especially on the Democrats who have engaged in the worst kind of political manipulation of the American people.

Today, as the first day of questions is underway, we have seen more of the same political theater. No minds are being changed. They are playing to the cameras. Which is to say, they are playing you and me, the viewers—the American people.

Enough is enough. It’s time to end this fake impeachment.

Let your voice be heard. Visit CWA’s Impeachment Central and let your senator know what you think about this impeachment. Tell them it is time to put an end to this charade and get back to the business of the people.

And be sure to check out today’s briefing for more on what is taking place in the Senate:

Impeachment Must End

By | Blog, LBB, News and Events | No Comments

We have now heard from both sides of the impeachment trial. The House Managers presented their case. The president’s team concluded today presenting their defense. And one cannot help but ask how in the world did the majority of Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives get away with such a miscarriage of justice?

The two articles they presented are so amorphous they could be used to impeach every single president in history. Even the linchpin of their argument, President Trump’s call with President Zelensky of Ukraine, has collapsed under the weight of the evidence.

The whole exercise has been pure political theatre with no redeemable aspect.

So now it is time for senators to hear from you! The Democrats’ dangerous manipulation of the impeachment process must not go unanswered. Please visit our Impeachment Central page at ConcernedWomen.org/impeachmentcentral for the latest news and to take action.

Please write, tweet, and call your senators and let them know they should oppose these baseless impeachment articles because they simply do not meet the constitutional standard established by the Founders.

Your voice matters. Please take action and share our Impeachment Central page with your family and friends. Together we can stand for justice!

Finally, check out our latest briefing where Toni DeLancey, CWA’s Chief Operating Officer, joins me in exploring what is really driving these impeachment proceedings. You won’t want to miss it.

The President’s Team Sets the Record Straight

By | Blog, LBB, News and Events | No Comments

There was simply no link between investigations and security assistance. As the president’s personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow, said, “First, the transcript shows that the President did not condition either security assistance or a meeting on anything. The paused security assistance funds aren’t even mentioned on the call.” Ukrainian President Zelensky said there was no pressure on him, and they did not even know that some aid had been delayed at the time of the call. Those who spoke directly to the President say there was no quid pro quo. All aid was given, and nothing was received in return. Indeed, President Trump gave Ukraine the crucial missiles it needed to defend itself that had been previously withheld under the Obama Administration.

The President was right to be concerned about corruption in Ukraine. There are legitimate concerns surrounding Hunter Biden and his relationship with Burisma. It is entirely appropriate for the president to press for an investigation into corruption.

The bottom line continues to be that the whole impeachment process has been tainted by political aspirations that have clouded the proceedings and demand these charges be dismissed. Jay Sekulow again:

I want to contrast the solemn nature of these proceedings and what is been laid out before us from a both historical and constitutional perspective. I want you to think about this – the history, the importance, the solemnity of what we are engaged in here in this great body – with what took place in the House of Representatives upon the signing of articles of impeachment. Pens distributed to the impeachment managers – a celebratory moment.

Impeachment Day 3 Recap

We continued to hear the same unproven allegations from the House managers as they presented their case to remove the President before the Senate on day two of their opening statements. And, the mindboggling thing is how long they have been preparing for this dud.

Vanity Fair, December 15, 2016: “Democrats are Paving the Way to Impeach Donald Trump.”

Washington Post, January 2017: “The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.”

TIME, January 20, 2017: “There’s Already a Campaign to Impeach President Donald Trump.”

Washington Post, February 24, 2017: “Impeach Trump? Most Democrats already say ‘yes.’”

CNN, February 6, 2017: “Rep. Maxine Waters: Trump’s actions ‘leading himself’ to impeachment.”

INDEPENDENT, February 23, 2017: “Keith Ellison calls for impeachment investigations of Donald Trump.”

This is not a serious process the Democrats entered into because of a phone call. To conclude otherwise is to ignore the clear evidence before us. However, the result of the political manipulation of such a powerful constitutional provision could be devastating to our country.

Check out today’s Impeachment Briefing to hear more about the dangerous rhetoric being used by House Managers that threatens the legitimacy of our elections. In today’s episode, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Penny Nance joins us to comment on some exciting news and her take on impeachment.

The Hot Air Impeachment Continues

By | Blog, LBB, News and Events | No Comments

The rhetoric certainly remained at a high pitch. But on day two of the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, the Democrats have, once again, failed to meet the clear constitutional threshold to remove a president of the United States. Opening statements for the House managers began today, and we heard virtually the same arguments we’ve heard all along.

The impeachment case is empty. The evidence presented does not support their claims. One must read into the evidence some imaginary nefarious motive which they are all too willing to do in order to make any sense of it. And even then, the legal case is still in shambles.

This is, of course, why they are spending so much time trying to acquire new evidence. No reasonable person could vote to impeach a president under these set of circumstances. But their irresponsible rush through the House proceedings is their blunder, not the Senate’s. Wishing there would be more evidence does not make it so. The Senate is under no obligation to go on such a fishing expedition.

The fact is that the President released the phone call in question, and it said nothing about tying aid to anything. The President called for an investigation into corruption that had been highlighted by numerous news organizations. Ukraine received the money without any action on their part.

Those are the plain facts. Pair that with the uncontested fact that Democrats swore they would impeach this President from the moment he took office, and one must conclude this is not a serious investigation. Senators, from both parties, should reject it outright.

Watch the video below for a recap of Day 1:
