Christmas is a reminder that God is with us – to save, to lead, and to walk beside His people.
As we enter Christmas break, many believers tell me, “I see what is happening in California, but I do not know where to start.” Christmas gives us that starting point. The Child in the manger is our Savior and Lord, and He continues to invite His people to participate in His work, especially in places that feel dark or divided.
This month, I met with Assembly Member Diane Dixon in Orange County to thank her for opposing AB 84, a bill that would have increased state control over charter and alternative schools while limiting parental choice. Conversations like these matter. Many leaders are still shaping their convictions on life, parental rights, and gender policy. When people of faith engage with their representatives, whether school board members, city council members, county supervisors, or others, it helps connect proposed laws to the Biblical convictions held by many of their constituents.
So how do believers respond to the issues in California?
- Pray intentionally for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding regarding the policies and cultural issues affecting families in your community and our state.
- Pray that pastors and church leaders would seek the same clarity and courage – and equip their congregations to respond with truth and grace.
- Press into the Biblical promises of the Lord for California and consider joining a Prayer/Action chapter in your area.
Culture does not shift only in legislative chambers. It shifts when we pray, when truth is shared, and when people of faith engage. God placed you here, now, on purpose.

thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Prayer:
Lord, give California’s leaders wisdom, courage, and clarity. Strengthen those who defend family, parental rights, and truth. Cover our children and lead us into Your purposes for this state. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God is advancing His work in California, and He is calling His people to participate in what He is doing. Jesus still leads, and He uses women who pray, show up, and help leaders see the truth with grace.
