“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
– Matthew 5:44
This is a story of First Amendment Rights, Christian courage, and the transforming power of God’s love.
The Drip Café, located on Santa Fe Dr. in Denver, has been open for two years and exists to feed the homeless, provide jobs for those in need, and share God’s love. Jamie Sanchez, the owner, is also the founder of Recycle God’s Love, a ministry dedicated to sharing and honoring Biblical principles, God’s design for marriage, and serving the homeless of Denver.
What Jamie did not anticipate was that his ministry would provoke protests for the past two years, property damage to the Café, and threats of violence from LGBTQ+ and ANTIFA. According to organizers, they have used the Café protests as opportunities to “practice increasingly violent acts.”
But God had a different plan.
In his testimony, Jamie shares how he initially prayed for the protests to stop. Over time, however, God changed his heart, showing him that the deeper calling was not to remove his enemies but to love them. Instead of retreating, Jamie began opening the café on protest nights to Denver area praise and worship teams, filling the street with prayer, music, and the message of God’s forgiveness.
