Calling All Christians: Be A Doer, Not A Bystander

By | News and Events, Support for Israel | No Comments

neveragainAntisemitism is on the rise, and Israel is in crisis. Christians need to ask themselves, “What are we going to do about it?” On a recent trip to Israel, I once again toured Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. I was struck by the lovely grove of trees outside the building, figuratively reliving the years between 1938 and 1942 alongside the museum’s visitors. These trees commemorate “The Righteous Among the Nations,” people who tried to protect Jews at great risk and for no personal gain. People like Dutch Christian Corrie Ten Boom are honored there. Contrast those honored in Israel with another group of people exhibited in the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. The display reads:

Bystanders

The great majority of Europeans during the period of the Holocaust were neither killers nor victims. But whether or not they were involved in the ongoing genocide or understood the full extent of the “Final Solution,” most could observe small events forming part of the catastrophe as it unfolded in their own communities. … Some bystanders sought to exploit the situation of the Jews for personal gain, but most merely stood by, neither collaborating nor coming to the aid of the victims. This passivity amounted to acquiescence, and the planners and executors of the “Final Solution” counted on bystanders not intervening in the process of genocide.

Here is my nagging question: If I were alive during the Holocaust, who would I have been? Would I be the Christian who hid my Jewish neighbor in my home, risking a concentration camp for my own children, or the “bystander” who turned away, unwilling to help or even care? One can never know the answer in retrospect, but one can determine today’s actions.

According to the Antisemitism Worldwide 2014 Annual Report, published by Tel Aviv University’s Kantor Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry and the European Jewish Congress (EJC), antisemitism increased almost 40 percent from 2013 to 2014. In fact, 2014 was reported as one of the worst years in the last decade concerning anti-Semitic activity. In the U.S., 139 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in July of 2014, a 157 percent increase from July of 2013.

Thus far, in 2015, Israel has lost 11 innocent lives and 66 have been injured in terrorist attacks. One of those victims is 78-year-old Haim Haviv, who died when two Palestinians shot and stabbed passengers on a bus. That same day, 60-year-old Rabbi Yeshayahu Krishevsky was killed when a Palestinian worker for the Israeli telephone company rammed into pedestrians at a bus stop and then hacked them with a cleaver. Another, a 13-year-old Israeli boy, not much younger than my own son, was attacked by two Palestinians while he was innocently out for a bike ride.

In light of the events unfolding in Israel today, and even here in the U.S., we have an opportunity to begin to answer that question of “Who would I have been?” Do we sit by passively as our neighbors or our ally is vilified, or do we respond in an active way? Have we, in fact, acquiesced, or have we found the boldness to speak out?

The recent escalation of violence and terrorism in Israel should be of grave concern to the world, but particularly to peace-loving Americans. Make no mistake; this is a pivotal moment in the US-Israel relationship. Israel is in crisis, and what we do next matters not just to her but also to our very souls. We can never go back and right the wrongs of history, but we can each determine in our hearts to do everything in our power today to be active rather than passive. We must resist passive behavior and not just acquiesce. Speak to your neighbors, friends, and family about the violence in Israel and contact the U.S. Department of State to tell Secretary of State John Kerry to support Israel. Let’s not be bystanders.

To Call ‘Good’ ‘Evil’

By | Blog, News and Events, Support for Israel | No Comments

I was there. … I sat for hours watching Cecile Richards defend Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States. For the first hour, I couldn’t even get into the packed House Committee room. When I did, it was the world of Isaiah 5:20: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”

1.      What is Justice?

The left characterized the Center for Medical Progress as the true bad guys, saying that they should be the one’s investigated for recording undercover videos and setting up phony companies.  They see this “deception” as the real problem, instead of the murder of millions of children at the hands of Planned Parenthood.

2.      What is Truth?

Misleading statistics were thrown out by Miss Richards such as the highly dubious “only three percent of all Planned Parenthood services are abortion” statistic. As this video explains, many services more frequent and less profitable than abortion are figured into the equation in order to arrive at the three-percent figure. In reality, Planned Parenthood makes a lot of excess revenue, profits greatly from abortion, and 94 out of 100 pregnant women are served through abortion instead of adoption referral or prenatal care!

3.      What defines “Life-Saving”?

The left kept saying that fetal tissue donation is “life-saving research.” The sad truth is that some vaccines are developed with fetal tissue; however, this does not justify fetal tissue research. There are alternatives like induced pluripotent stem cells. More importantly, the intentional killing of one person so that another might be saved is deeply and ethically wrong.  The 1973 sci-fi movie, Soylent Green, exposed the fact that “Soylent Green is People!” The premise of the film was that they were killing the old to save the young. Fast forward to today, and we are killing the young to try to save the old.

4.      What is Love?

Planned Parenthood needs abortion because their view of sexuality can only function with abortion. “Free love” — sex without consequence — will inevitably result in unplanned pregnancy, with or without birth control (which has an inevitable failure rate). The more women are taught to rely on birth control, the more sex they will have and the more risk of birth control’s failure and an unplanned pregnancy.  Abortion is, thus, the back-up form of birth control to enable a culture that does not value sexuality and marriage. Abortion is the symptom of much larger cultural problems.

5.      What is Caring?

Planned Parenthood’s tagline is “Care: No Matter What.” If they mean “care” as in, “I care about you,” then they don’t seem to understand that truly loving a patient — truly caring for them — is not letting them do something hurtful to others and themselves.  “Caring” does not meant you blindly “respect and encourage” any choice whatsoever that someone makes. No one would say to a woman struggling with an addiction that she should just be cared for as is. No. At times, truly caring requires intervention.

6.      What is Equality?

In the classic Planned Parenthood, leftist worldview, fertility is a disability, and women cannot be equal with men as a result. Though they won’t acknowledge it, they believe that women’s equality is dependent on a woman’s ability to kill her own offspring. They define equality as sameness, not acknowledging that two different things can be both unique and equal.

7.      What is Private and What is Public?

During the hearing, Planned Parenthood supporters kept calling abortion “a private decision between a woman and her doctor.” They do not answer why taxpayers should have to publicly support organizations which provide private services. The irony being, if abortion is so private then leave public money out of it! Furthermore, Planned Parenthood’s insistence that public money is not going to abortion intentionally misses the point that public money frees up their private funds.

8.      What is the Meaning of the Body?

Planned Parenthood and Democrats say over and over that you can’t tell a woman what she should do with her body. They have no acknowledgement of the separate body within the mom — the child as both united and distinct from her — as in reality we are all both dependent and unique from one another. They also do not understand the beauty of giving to one another as a gift.

Let us expose this upside-down, topsy-turvy world of Planned Parenthood and pray for the truth to be revealed in each of these areas. Let us pray that the scales will be removed from the eyes of those who look so that they will see the Truth.

Members of the House Oppose Iran Deal

By | National Sovereignty, News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel | No Comments

Washington, D.C. – After hearing from their constituents about the extreme dangers posed by the Iran Nuclear Deal, the House voted yesterday and today on multiple measures to oppose it.  Penny Nance, CEO andCWALAC_MediaStatement President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, had this to say:

“The House abided by the views held by 56% of Americans who overwhelmingly oppose the deal with Iran, recognizing this deal is bad news for America and worse for Israel.  Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently said that Iran would not negotiate with the Satan (the United States) beyond the recently negotiated agreement and that Israel would not exist in 25 years and ‘the spirit of fighting, heroism and jihad will keep [Israel] worried every moment.’

“The Iran Nuclear Deal was not negotiated by an honest nation but rather one that sponsors terrorism.  Once implemented, this deal will release $150 billion in sanctions relief. A good portion of that could be used to fund terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah – both groups which reside around Israel and have carried out attacks against our ally.

“Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee will continue to support every effort to ensure that the Iran Nuclear Deal is not implemented. We must fight to ensure that Iran will never have nuclear weapon capabilities.”

Senate Democrats Obstruct Iran Deal Resolution of Disapproval

By | National Sovereignty, News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel | No Comments

Washington, D.C. – This afternoon, Senate Democrats filibustered and blocked a final vote on the Iranian nuclear deal. Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, hCWALAC_MediaStatementad this to say:

“Senate Democrats have heard from their constituents at home and here in Washington, D.C. over the last two months. Unfortunately, party politics won when Democrats blocked a final vote on advancing the Iran deal disapproval resolution. Constituents expect their senators to at least allow a vote on this deal. It is unacceptable that 98-1 Senators voted in May to have a vote on this agreement and now Democrats kept the Chamber from proceeding with that vote.

“This deal is unpopular with American voters; 58% say this deal will make the world less safe. Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism. Once implemented, this deal will release $150 billion in sanctions relief. A good portion of that could be used to fund terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah – both groups which reside around Israel and have carried out attacks against our ally.

“Iran’s Supreme Leader has reaffirmed hostility toward the U.S. and Israel. Earlier this week Ayatollah Khamenei stated that Israel would not exist in 25 years and referred to the United States as ‘Satan.’

“The ramifications of this agreement will outlive the Obama Administration. Those who support this deal will be held accountable for the part they play.”

CWA Praises GOP Candidates for Addressing Social Issues

By | Defense of Family, News and Events, Press Releases, Sanctity of Life, Support for Israel, Uncategorized | No Comments

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women for America’s CEO and President Penny Nance praised GOP presidential candidates who addressed the issues that are near and dear to the hearts of social conservatives:CWALAC_MediaStatement

“Tonight’s debates gave the candidates a variety of social issues to address.  Statements made about the life issue make it clear that this is an issue that needs to be fought for and it is vital that we have a president who will do just that.  It is also apparent from tonight’s debates that social conservatives need to hold all of these candidates accountable not only for the lives of the unborn, but for the safety and protection of all American citizens.

“In the earlier debate, the topic of Planned Parenthood was addressed early and by every candidate. CWA applauds Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pennsylvania) for bringing the topic of the Planned Parenthood videos showing negotiations for the sale of the remains of aborted babies to the GOP presidential debate stage. It is one of the most important issues of our time.  Gov. George Pataki’s (R-New York) position to defund Planned Parenthood is an indication that the parts-for-sale videos are uniting pro-life and pro-choice Americans on this front.

“We appreciate FOX News making the social issues of abortion, marriage, the Iran deal, and the support of our ally Israel a key part of the GOP presidential primary debate.  The nation is well-served by the mainstream focus and exposure.”

Conservative Leaders Join in Opposition to the deal with Iran

By | News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel | No Comments

WaCWALAC_MediaStatementshington, D.C. – Today, conservative leaders joined together in support of a resolution of disapproval to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the so-called “deal” the Obama Administration made with Iran regarding its nuclear program. Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), had this to say:

“The content of this deal with Iran is greatly troubling. It is a bad deal for the U.S., our ally Israel, and the four American hostages who were left behind.

“The inclusion that the United Nations embargo on arms and ballistic missiles sales to Iran will be lifted makes the U.S. vulnerable and places Israel in formidable danger. No deal is better than a bad deal that locks in the negative consequences currently incorporated.

“Israel is America’s greatest ally in the Middle East, period. This announced deal has the potential to put our ally in grave danger. Oddly, the administration chooses to trust Iran’s other promises, but ignores that it has explicitly stated its hatred for the U.S. and its intentions to annihilate the Jewish state. On this point, CWALAC takes Iran at her word. Iran has insidious goals in the Middle East which have not changed, including sponsoring terror groups like Hezbollah.

“Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, tweeted out an image over the weekend of President Obama holding a gun to his own head and stated ‘We welcome no war, nor do we initiate any war, but if any war happens, the one who will emerge loser will be the aggressive and criminal U.S.’ It is clear Khamenei is not afraid of our U.S. leadership.

“Finally, CWALAC members reject the administration’s talking point for not including the American hostages in this deal, that their freedom is a separate issue. What could be more central to normalizing relations with any country than their treatment of our fellow countrymen? The president’s willingness to leave American hostages behind is unacceptable.

“The American people have not forgotten Pastor Saeed Abendini, former Marine Amir Hekati, Washington Post Iran Bureau Chief Jason Rezaian, and ex-FBI Agent Robert Levinson. That is why Concerned Women for America LAC will be working to oppose the deal with Iran and specifically the fact that it leaves American hostages behind. Our hope is that political figures and fellow citizens will gather to show support for those forgotten by this administration.

“Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee sees a resolution of disapproval as a top priority and the only way forward to ensure the safety of the U.S. and Israel. As a result, CWALAC will activate and educate our half-a-million members to ensure its passage in Congress.”

Presidential Math

By | Blog, News and Events, Support for Israel | No Comments

Quick! Someone Common Core this for me!

Have you ever heard the one-liner, “Over 78% of statistics are made up on the spot”? Well, that joke has now made it to the White House — and the president loves to tell variations of it at his press conferences.

obamairanpresser

Most recently, the president claimed that “99% of the world community” thinks his Iran “deal” (read: “disaster”) is a great idea that will do exactly what we know it won’t (i.e., keep the “Death to America/Death to Israel”-chanting Iranians from building nukes with which to make good on those chants).

President Obama said:

“I’m hearing a lot of talking points being repeated that this is a bad deal. That this is a historically bad deal. This will threaten Israel and threaten the world and threaten the United States.  There’s been a lot of that. What I haven’t heard is what is your alternative. If 99% of the world community and the majority of nuclear experts look at this and say ‘This will prevent Iran from getting the bomb,’ and you are arguing either that it does not, or even if it does it’s temporary, or because they are going to get a windfall of their accounts being unfrozen they’ll cause more problems, then you should have some alternative to present.”

So if 99% of the world community loves Obama’s plan, then that one percent that doesn’t love it must include the 71% of respondents to a March NBC/Wall Street Journal poll and 64% from an end-of-June CNN/ORC poll who believe that the president’s deal would not keep Iran from producing nuclear weapons. And it must also include Israel. And it must also include the entirety of the Middle East which, according to U.S. officials and experts — who obviously weren’t included in Obama’s “majority of nuclear experts” — will likely initiate “a wave of nuclear research and threatening rhetoric that will make the region even more of a tinderbox than it is now.” Kind of a sizable one percent, don’t you think?

And as for an alternative? As they said over at the Gateway Pundit, “As if [Obama] would listen to an opponent’s alternative. Get real.” But let’s start with this old, tried-and-true principle: “Don’t negotiate with terrorists.” Peace through strength and resolve. Follow that simple idea, and America and Israel wouldn’t now be in the crosshairs of a lunatic government, and the rest of the Middle East wouldn’t be scrambling for defensive measures.

But this is only the most recent example of “presidential math.” Let’s not forget this doozy:

“Today, the average full-time working woman earns just 77 cents for every dollar a man earns.” — President Obama in remarks on equal pay for equal work, April 8, 2014.

This is something even the liberal-leaning Washington Post took issue with and a point addressed and debunked in Concerned Women for America’s booklet, A War No More: The Truth Behind the “War on Women.”

There’s also this one:

“We’re going to work with your employer to lower the cost of your premiums by up to $2,500 a year.”

Lower … raise … minus … plus. It’s all the same, right? And I’ll bet if we like our plan we get to keep our plan. (The Washington Post gave him two “Pinocchios” for the $2,500 claim.)

Then, of course, there’s the politically motivated move to make community college “free.” Granted, the taxpayers would be on the hook for roughly $80 billion over the next 10 years, but who’s counting? Well, frankly, those of us who are paying for it.

But I wonder if the kids who are cheering for those four years of free tuition have done the simple math and figured out that 10 – 4 = 6. And I wonder if they realize that, under that plan, they might not pay for four years of community college, but they’ll be on the hook with the rest of us for that last six years?

So yeah, the president’s math kinda stinks, but just try to keep laughing. And remember, “84% of statistics are made up on the spot.”

Penny Nance Responds to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest

By | News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel, Uncategorized | No Comments

CWALAC_MediaStatementWashington, D.C. — Penny Nance responds to White House press secretary Josh Earnest’s characterization of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee’s rally today in Lafayette Park as “pro-war.” Attending the rally was Armed Services Subcommittee Chairman Vicky Hartzler (R-Missouri), Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and others.

Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) CEO and President Penny Nance had this to say:

“I’m disappointed that White House press secretary Josh Earnest chose to double down on politics instead of listening to our message. The truth is, any agreement with Iran that makes the U.S. and Israel less safe and leaves behind four American hostages is a bad deal. CWALAC opposes the deal with Iran based on the fact that it makes America and Israel vulnerable.

“He’s foolish to insult the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization. Many of our members have served in the U.S. military or are the wife or mother of a U.S. military member. If he were a gentleman, he would apologize.”

CWALAC Rally a Red, White, and Blue (and Pink!) Success!

By | News and Events, Support for Israel | No Comments

The sound of flags unfurled and waving in the wind was the loudest sound we heard as we walked up to CWALAC’s rally, “Protesting a Bad Deal with Iran, American Hostages Left Behind.” The mood was tense. Surrounding the podium were members of the notoriously liberal Code Pink group.

cwaflagsunfurled

They had earlier shown up at another function for the express purpose of cheering on Secretary of State John Kerry. Now they were here to shut down debate.

As tension mounted, Code Pink began singing the word “peace” in several languages. CWALAC responded by singing, “America the Beautiful.” One side with “Peace with Iran,” the other with “Bring Our Hostages Home.” It was a true war of ideology.

Once things cooled down a bit, CWALAC CEO and President Penny Nance led the event by reminding the gathered audience and media that our president and his state department is guilty of ignoring Americans being held hostage in Iran.

hartzler-iran

Truly, it is reminiscent of 1979, when Iranian students stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran and successfully captured fifty-two Americans. All these years later, U.S. citizens are still being mistreated and unjustly imprisoned by the theocratic, Islamic regime.

Later, Rep. Vicky Hartzler spoke powerfully in defense of the hostages who were left abandoned and adrift in the midst of this so-called “deal.” She brought eloquence and strength to the truth about this crisis we’re in, and left the audience with a lot to consider. It was easy to see why she’s considered such a shining star in the dark sky of Washington politics.

The real battle would come as Sen. Ted Cruz attempted to speak. Clearly, Code Pink was there to shut him down, and with the National Park Service Police there to only keep the peace, it seemed there was nothing CWALAC could do to stop Code Pink. … until Sen. Cruz invited Code Pink forward and gave them a forum.

rallyptCode Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin accused Cruz of numerous things, including pushing the country closer to war. Cruz cut to the heart of it, responding by pointing out what Benjamin had conveniently left out. “You did not respond to the irrefutable point that this deal would send over $100 billion dollars to Iran and those billions of dollars will be used to murder Americans by jihadists.” He went on to point out Code Pink’s “Peace with Iran” signs and to remind them that the prevailing sentiment in Iran was not one of peace but of “Death to America.”

Following the exchange, the more vocal members of Code Pink left, leaving confused college-aged members to ponder the truth they had heard. And we’re glad they stayed. They heard from Sarah Stern, Founder and President of the Endowment for Middle East Truth; Tiffany Barrans, American Center for Law and Justice Legal Representative for Pastor Saeed; David Parsons, Media Director for International Christian Embassy Jerusalem; Gary Bauer, Director of Christians United for Israel Action Fund; Faith McDonnell, Director of Religious Liberty Programs, The Institute on Religion & Democracy; and Deydra Cavazos, Director of Advocacy, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

iranrallypynIt was truth followed by truth followed by truth. Over and over, the sentiments flowed that we must never forget — and must continue to fight tooth and nail to free — the four current hostages, who have been held far longer than the 444 days the Americans in 1979. Pastor Saeed Abedini has been held over 1,000 days (three years), former-Marine Amir Hekmati has been imprisoned since 2011 (four years), former-FBI agent Robert Levinson has been missing since 2007 (eight years), and Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian has been a prisoner for a year.

In solidarity with our fellow Americans being held by this repressive regime, we are wearing yellow ribbons to remember their plight and bring awareness to others here at home.

iranrallypyntcSen. Cruz echoed Penny who said the recent negotiations with Iran evoked horrible memories from past dealings under the Carter Administration’s sweaty-palmed foreign policy and ineptitude. And he reminded us that on the very day that President Ronald Reagan was sworn into office, those hostages were released.

Peace through strength and resolve.

Let us all now call on Congress to pass a resolution of disapproval of this so-called Iran “deal.” It is little more than a bit of poor judgement and lack of content — as worthless as the proverbial paper it’s written on. Let us also demand that the president work toward the immediate release of U.S. hostages that were abandoned on the negotiation table in Iran.

We can do no less.

Iran Review Legislation Unanimously Moves through Senate Foreign Relations Committee

By | News and Events, Support for Israel | No Comments

It is essential that Congress be allowed to review any agreement the Obama Administration makes with Iran regarding that country’s nuclear weapons program. Yesterday afternoon, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee took a strong step forward toward congressional review by unanimously adopting the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, S. 615. CWALAC CEO and President Praises Congress’ Passage of the U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Act

By | News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel | No Comments

CWALAC_MediaStatementWASHINGTON, D.C. — Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee applauds Congress for final passage of the United States-Israel Strategic Partnership Act (S.2673). Senator Blunt (R-Missouri), one of the sponsors of S. 2673, states that the bill, “Authorizes an increase of $200 million in the value of U.S. weapons held in Israel, to a total of $1.8 billion. This stockpile is intended for use by U.S. forces in the event of a crisis, but it can also be used by Israel in the event of an emergency with Israel reimbursing the U.S. for any weapons used.” S. 2673 also seeks to broaden cooperation efforts regarding research and development, business, agriculture, water management, and academics.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, responded:

“CWALAC strongly supports Israel and efforts to strengthen the U.S.-Israeli relationship. Yesterday, the House of Representatives approved S. 2673, which the Senate unanimously passed in September, naming Israel a ‘major strategic partner’ of the United States.

“In doing this, Congress reaffirms the United States’ commitment to its long-standing relationship with Israel, including but not limited to defense, security assistance, diplomatic relations, energy development, and encourages increase cooperation in academics and business.

“With hostilities in the Middle East, the approval of this legislation sends a clear message that the United States Congress recognizes the importance of our relationship with Israel, the only democracy in a region full of oppression and violence.”

CWA Responds to Terror Attack in Jerusalem: Protecting Israel – Cornerstone for 2016 Presidential Nomination

By | News and Events, Press Releases, Support for Israel | No Comments

CWALAC_MediaStatementWashington, D.C. – Four innocent people, including three Americans with dual U.S.- Israeli citizenship, were murdered in Tuesday morning’s horrific terrorist attack in Jerusalem. The continued violence in Israel and constant turmoil in the Middle East makes a clear and comprehensive foreign policy agenda a must for any potential conservative presidential candidate. In a piece in today’s Christian Post, Penny Nance, Joel Rosenberg, and Ralph Reed explain why support for Israel should be a centerpiece of that foreign policy – and they outline six other crucial positions conservative voters will be looking for in the next president. One relevant excerpt reads:

ISRAEL AND RADICAL ISLAM – Does the candidate have a clear and coherent view of U.S. vital interests in the Middle East, including a demonstrated, consistent, long-standing support for Israel and a solid understanding of why Israel matters to the U.S.? Does the candidate have a clear understanding of the urgency of the threats posed by Iran, ISIS, and Radical Islam more broadly, and a serious approach towards dealing with such threats? Does he or she have proven wisdom and experience in dealing with the Middle East issues, or is the candidate too new to the foreign policy arena?”

Ten-Dollar Women and Out-of-Touch Liberals

By | Blog, News and Events, Sanctity of Life, Support for Israel | No Comments

WNMHashtagNews from the front line of the real war on women: ISIS is selling women for $10 to attract new recruits. But liberal Democrats would rather focus on $10 birth control readily available at Walmart than address the plight of these women that are being kidnapped, raped, and killed. Their continued “war on women” pandering has done nothing to advance true freedom of women, but rather worked to promote free “things.”

The question before us is, “Will Liberal Democrats still pretending to fight over $10 birth control in a made up “war on women” work in the midterms?” As things fall apart, the answer is a resounding “no.” This election season, we’ve seen liberal editorial boards like those in Colorado endorsing the Republican candidate (Corey Gardner) citing the liberal candidate’s (Mark Udall) refusal to get off the phony war on women rhetoric. The Colorado Springs Gazette said Mark Udall’s message was a waste of time and money:

“Few believe the pretense of a Republican war on women. The message was at first a waste of money and time. Now, it has backfired. On the average day for the past several months, Udall’s campaign has produced multiple statements with each mentioning his support of ‘birth control,’ ‘contraception’ and/or ‘abortion’ a dozen times or more. They did not come from 527s or other outside groups, but directly from the campaign. One might think Roe v. Wade hadn’t been decided 41 years ago. Or that women had no other pressing concerns.”

Unfortunately, so-called “women’s advocates” groups like the National Organization for Women and Planned Parenthood continue to discuss it, ignoring reality, and instead jumping on the bandwagon of poor messaging.

Both groups ignore the threat of ISIS for the health, wellness, and lives of women. But rest assured, multiple references to “attacks on reproductive rights” and the Republican “war on women” is given plenty of precious website capital. In fact, search NOW’s website and you will not find one single mention of ISIS. Add to that, if you search ISIS on Planned Parenthood’s website, you will kindly be redirected to a page that says “Did you mean abortion/birth control?” Because surely, when looking at what an “advocate for women” has to say about a terrorist group, you intended to find out about free birth control. At some point, and hopefully soon, it’ll be time to declare #WarNoMore.
