Your North Carolina Representative Needs to Hear From You!

We have the largest number of Republicans in the House in nearly a century thanks to conservative value voters in the last two elections. Now the country has been betrayed by the Republican Party majority in Congress.

I am angry and frustrated that the Republican Party in the House of Representatives passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill, H.R.2019, Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016, by a vote of 316-to-113 that will give Obama everything he wants. It fully funds Obamacare. It fully funds Obama’s Muslim refugee program, and it fully funds Planned Parenthood to continue its slaughter of unborn babies.

The Republican leaders are afraid to stand up to Obama’s spending for fear the liberal media will excuse them of wanting to shut down the government. Unfortunately, House Speaker Ryan inherited this mess from former Speaker Boehner and there was very little Ryan could do about it.  Ryan has vowed to take Congress through the correct appropriations channels next session, and we will continue to encourage him to do so.

This spending bill posed a bipartisan challenge because the democrats are rarely for budget cuts, and this legislation still had to pass the desk of our extremely pro-abortion president who will veto anything too controversial. There’s still hope in getting Planned Parenthood defunding language to the desk of the President because of the Reconciliation bill which will probably go to the floor for a vote in late January.

For more information, read CWA’s press release on the matter, Penny Nance Urges House Speaker Ryan to Return to Conservative Spending Principles.

Here is how our North Carolina U.S. representatives voted:

Take action by contacting your U.S. representative and respectfully express your displeasure or appreciation of their vote accordingly. (Click here to find out who your representative is and how to contact them.)  Encourage them to work with leadership to take the appropriations process through the correct channels next session and return to regular order. Additionally, ask your member to vote “yes” on H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015, which will divert funds away from Planned Parenthood and defund key parts of Obamacare. Here is the fact sheet on the legislation.

Pray that the Lord will guide our leaders with His wisdom, truth and courage, in Jesus’ Name.
