Value Them Both Amendment Fails in the House

Last week, the pro-life Value Them Both Amendment that you faithfully prayed for and took action on failed to get the necessary 84 votes to pass the Kansas House. The amendment had previously passed the Kansas Senate. It was a disheartening defeat because of the potential lives lost of both mothers and their unborn babies.

Take Action: It is important that we contact our legislators after a crucial vote like this.  They need to know that we take note of how they vote.

  1. Click here to view how your House member voted on the amendment. Contact the legislator and thank them if they voted yes on the amendment and express your disappointment if they voted against the amendment. Be sure to let them know you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Kansas. Click here and then click on “Find Your Legislator” to contact your Kansas House members.  You can also call the Legislative Hot Line at 1-800-432-3924.
  2. Contact Speaker of the House, Ron Ryckman (Republican D-78) and Senate President Susan Wagle (Republican D-30) and thank them for their leadership on the pro-life amendment. Be sure to let them know you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Kansas.

Speaker Ryckman – 785-296-2302 | ron.ryckman@house.ks.gov
Senate President Wagle, 785-296-2419 | susan.wagle@senate.ks.gov.

Please join me in prayer:  Father in Heaven, we thank you for the favor the amendment has had with the Speaker of the House and the Senate President.  We thank you for the work the pro-life representatives did last Friday.  We put our trust in You as You are always in control. Psalms 62:8 says, “In God we Trust.”

Thank you for all you have done in contacting your legislators and especially the prayers.

Blessings,
