The 2025 Colorado Legislative Session: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

By May 16, 2025Colorado

“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sins and heal their land.”
-II Chronicles 7:14

In the last few months, we have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in our great state. Let’s start with the good.

The Good: The Boulder Colorado Summer Trans Camp was CANCELLED! Praise the Lord! They say it was due to “safety concerns.” Interesting. From our perspective, it was a concern for the children’s safety that led us to call for it to be cancelled. It is good that our children will not have this option for their summer activities.

Colorado’s 2025 Legislative Session has ended. What do we have to show for it? Unfortunately, this is where the bad and the ugly come into play.

The Bad: HB25-1312, Legal Protections for Transgender Individuals, passed from the House side to the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 30 and passed along party lines (Democrats 5, Republicans 2). Testimony lasted until 1:00 a.m., with 670 people signed up to oppose this bill. This Bill now makes Colorado a sanctuary state for trans child custody disputes and adds deadnaming and misgendering definitions to Colorado’s ADA definitions. Despite the overwhelming opposition and national attention this Bill garnered, the committee voted to impose the state’s gender ideology on parents and faith-based institutions.

The Ugly: There is a theme in the bills protecting the pre-born and our Colorado children that were introduced and failed in this session; all failed along party lines.

Our children are under attack, and their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is ignored.

Take Action Through Prayer: What better way to combat the evil in our state than prayer?! Please join Concerned Women for America of Colorado’s prayer efforts. Consider joining a Prayer/Action Chapter, starting a Prayer/Action Chapter, or participating in our regular prayer walks and prayer times at the state capitol. Additionally, this summer, we will be launching a NEW prayer effort to pray for revival in our state capital. Watch for more information to come. Then, in the fall, we will be asking you to consider signing up for our annual Encourage-A-Legislator program. The time to act is NOW. Contact me to learn more about these opportunities.
