Good news! HB648 (formally HB463, the “Don’t Harm Our Children Act,” sponsored by State Rep. Gabe Firment (R-District 22), passed the House Health and Welfare Committee (14-3) and the House Floor (71-24). The bill now moves to the Senate, where it will be heard in the Senate Health and Welfare Committee this Wednesday, May 24.
HB648 will prohibit certain procedures to alter the sex of a minor child. Louisiana has a governmental interest in protecting the health and safety of its citizens, especially vulnerable children. The risks associated with the allowance of irreversible, permanent reassignment surgery outweigh the scientific benefits. This law will exclude gender transition procedures for any person under 18 years of age from healthcare coverage reimbursement and provides that any provision of gender transition shall be subject to discipline by the licensed entity over the physician, mental health provider, or other healthcare professionals.

Please Pray:
Pray that Louisiana state senators will not be overcome with timidity and will be emboldened with courage to vote against child mutilation. Pray for the truth to prevail and lies to be exposed.

Concerned Women for America of Missouri is committed to protecting gender dysphoric children. With two weeks to go in the 102nd General Assembly, First Regular Session, we need your help to protect minor children from medical mutilation. Children struggling with gender identity should be treated with compassion but also protected from unethical medical interventions that ignore underlying causes, impede natural maturation, and reject long-term health and well-being.
“Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) agrees children who struggle with identity should be protected from harmful ‘gender reassignment’ medical practices causing serious health risks, irreversible damage, and increasingly, regret. Minors are incapable of giving informed consent to destructive medical interventions degrading their development and sterilizing their bodies,” said Doreen Denny, CWALAC Vice President of Government Relations. “Unfortunately, the Big Gender market is more interested in profit than ethical practice.”

SB49, the “Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act” sponsored by Sen. Mike Moon (R-District 29), was introduced and endorsed by CWALAC to ban experimental transgender treatments and surgeries on minors and to protect taxpayers from paying for them.
The Senate passed SB 49 and was referred to the House, where it is now waiting to be sent to the House floor for a vote.
CALLS TO ACTION
Will you do these two things to protect Missouri children?
- Contact Speaker of the House, Rep. Dean Plocher (R), and ask him to place SB49 on the House calendar for a vote. E-mail Speaker Plocher at Plocher@house.mo.gov or call his office directly at 573-751-1544.
- E-mail, call, or tweet your State Representative through our Action Center HERE and urge them to vote YES on SB49, the “Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act.”
CALL TO PRAYER
Pray the eyes of the members of the Missouri General Assembly be opened to see the need to protect the innocence of minor children in Missouri.
Thank you for acting and praying to protect Missouri children.
Sincerely,
Tracy Dougan
State Director

“It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.” Luke 17:2
You may recall our efforts to target Sanford Health for co-hosting the Midwest Gender Identity Summit with the Transformation Project on January 13 at the Sanford Research Center in Sioux Falls. The mission of the Transformation Project is “supporting and empowering transgender youth,” thus promoting the lie that “men and women can change their gender.”
We are grateful for HB1080, sponsored by Rep. Bethany Soye (R-District 9), to “prohibit certain medical and surgical interventions on minor children.” HB1080 would prohibit the radical “treatment” for gender dysphoria, which involves puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and irreversible surgeries like double mastectomies and genital removal or reconstruction to “become” the opposite sex. Damages to the minor for such treatment may result in civil action.
Additionally, if a healthcare professional is in violation of the terms of HB1080, their professional license must be revoked. Furthermore, Concerned Women for America (CWA) of South Dakota finds these activities very disturbing, especially among a healthcare institution that takes an oath to “do not harm.” Ironically, healthcare providers blatantly deny the science that tells us one cannot change their God-given sex. Children struggling with gender dysphoria should be protected from unethical medical interventions that ignore underlying causes and reject long-term health and well-being.
You may find more information on CWA’s website here.
ACTION: Email your two representatives and urge them to Vote YES on HB1080 to protect our children. Click here for the list of representatives and their contact information. If you do not know who your state representatives are, click here. Include your name and address so they know you are a constituent. Legislators have asked that we indicate on the subject line your legislative district, for example, “from District 9.” They get so many emails and are only concerned about their constituents. Also, if you are a member of CWA of South Dakota, be sure to let them know.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we pray for those struggling with gender dysphoria that they will believe the truth about Your design for them found in Scripture and reject the lies of Satan. You say in Word in Genesis 1:27, “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” We ask for protection of the hearts and minds of all our children, and we pray for Christians to courageously and lovingly speak God’s truth about Your design for sexuality in a confused and needy world.
In Christ,|
