Missouri Bans Sex Changes for Minors, Boys from Playing in Female Sports

Gov. Mike Parson Signs Bills Protecting Children from These Harmful Trends

Washington, D.C. – Today, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) and Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Missouri praised Republican Gov. Mike Parson for signing a bill preventing minors in Missouri from accessing puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries that can alter their bodies irreparably.

St Louis Children’s Hospital became a focus of national attention when a former caseworker at its Washington University Transgender Center, Jamie Reed, went public with practices she described as “morally and medically appalling.” Beginning August 28, Missouri healthcare providers won’t be able to prescribe these harmful treatments for teens and children.

Gov. Parson also signed legislation that would ban biological men from playing on female sports teams from kindergarten through college.

“We are grateful to Gov. Parson for protecting children from both the physical and mental harm of gender transition surgery,” says Tracy Dougan, CWA of Missouri State Director. “We also applaud the Governor for protecting our Missouri female athletes, who will no longer have to feel the threat of having their dreams dashed by males identifying as females who seek to infiltrate female sports to steal trophies and scholarships.”

Missouri is the 20th state to adopt policies that will prevent harmful surgeries and experimental drugs from being administered to vulnerable children expressing a desire to transition to the opposite sex. The Show Me state becomes the 22nd state to enact laws protecting women’s sports for female athletes.

“Our children are vulnerable and impressionable, and they deserve protection. Thank you, Gov. Parson, for doing so,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC. “Puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery don’t solve the confusion children are experiencing; they aggravate it and can do irreversible harm. And, young female athletes need to be affirmed, not have their trophies stolen by boys who claim to identify as girls.”

Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee has been at the very forefront of this battle for our nation’s children by urging legislators and lawmakers to protect children in the medical field and hold those healthcare professionals abusing their position accountable.

Action Alert: Senate Committee to hear Don’t Harm Our Children Act

By | Louisiana | No Comments

Good news! HB648 (formally HB463, the “Don’t Harm Our Children Act,” sponsored by State Rep. Gabe Firment (R-District 22), passed the House Health and Welfare Committee (14-3) and the House Floor (71-24). The bill now moves to the Senate, where it will be heard in the Senate Health and Welfare Committee this Wednesday, May 24.

HB648 will prohibit certain procedures to alter the sex of a minor child. Louisiana has a governmental interest in protecting the health and safety of its citizens, especially vulnerable children. The risks associated with the allowance of irreversible, permanent reassignment surgery outweigh the scientific benefits. This law will exclude gender transition procedures for any person under 18 years of age from healthcare coverage reimbursement and provides that any provision of gender transition shall be subject to discipline by the licensed entity over the physician, mental health provider, or other healthcare professionals.

 Take Action:

  • Contact the members of the Louisiana Senate Health and Welfare Committee and ask them to support HB648. If you are a constituent, be sure to let them know. The Senate members are listed below my signature.
  • Forward this information to family and friends.

Please Pray:
Pray that Louisiana state senators will not be overcome with timidity and will be emboldened with courage to vote against child mutilation. Pray for the truth to prevail and lies to be exposed.

Urgent! Protect Missouri Children from Medical Mutilation

By | Missouri | No Comments

Concerned Women for America of Missouri is committed to protecting gender dysphoric children. With two weeks to go in the 102nd General Assembly, First Regular Session, we need your help to protect minor children from medical mutilation. Children struggling with gender identity should be treated with compassion but also protected from unethical medical interventions that ignore underlying causes, impede natural maturation, and reject long-term health and well-being.

“Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) agrees children who struggle with identity should be protected from harmful ‘gender reassignment’ medical practices causing serious health risks, irreversible damage, and increasingly, regret. Minors are incapable of giving informed consent to destructive medical interventions degrading their development and sterilizing their bodies,” said Doreen Denny, CWALAC Vice President of Government Relations. “Unfortunately, the Big Gender market is more interested in profit than ethical practice.”

Visit Concerned Women for America’s Protecting Vulnerable Children page for timely resources on this issue.

SB49, the “Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act” sponsored by Sen. Mike Moon (R-District 29), was introduced and endorsed by CWALAC to ban experimental transgender treatments and surgeries on minors and to protect taxpayers from paying for them.

The Senate passed SB 49 and was referred to the House, where it is now waiting to be sent to the House floor for a vote.

CALLS TO ACTION

Will you do these two things to protect Missouri children?

  1. Contact Speaker of the House, Rep. Dean Plocher (R), and ask him to place SB49 on the House calendar for a vote. E-mail Speaker Plocher at Plocher@house.mo.gov or call his office directly at 573-751-1544.
  2. E-mail, call, or tweet your State Representative through our Action Center HERE and urge them to vote YES on SB49, the “Missouri Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act.”

 CALL TO PRAYER

Pray the eyes of the members of the Missouri General Assembly be opened to see the need to protect the innocence of minor children in Missouri.

Thank you for acting and praying to protect Missouri children.

Sincerely,

Tracy Dougan

Harmful Transgender Treatment

Indiana & Idaho Governors Sign Legislation Banning “Gender-Affirming Care” for Minors

Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, April 5, both Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed bills that would ban all types of “gender affirming care” for minors statewide. This would include hormone therapy, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, surgery referrals for sex changes and transition surgeries– even if the child has parental approval.

Idaho and Indiana are joining the already 11 states that have either restricted, banned or are in the process of banning “gender-affirming care” for minors, including Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Utah, South Dakota, and West Virginia.

“Using children for medical experiments that have no basis in science must be stopped,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALCA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization. “The gender ideology obsession that manipulates children and instills confusion and hopelessness in young minds is a national disgrace. We are proud of Indiana and Idaho for recognizing the importance of implementing laws that will protect children.”

“Children who struggle with identity should be protected from harmful ‘gender reassignment’ medical practices causing serious health risks, irreversible damage, and regret. Minors are incapable of giving informed consent to destructive medical interventions degrading their development and sterilizing their bodies,” said Doreen Denny, CWALAC Senior Advisor.

“Unfortunately, big pharma and medical associations are more interested in profit than ethical practice. CWALAC stands against the medical mutilation of minors in the name of ‘gender confirmations.'”

Concerned Women for America encourages all states to ban this harmful medical practice and protect children.

Action Alert: Don’t Harm Our Children

By | South Dakota | No Comments

“It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.” Luke 17:2

You may recall our efforts to target Sanford Health for co-hosting the Midwest Gender Identity Summit with the Transformation Project on January 13 at the Sanford Research Center in Sioux Falls. The mission of the Transformation Project is “supporting and empowering transgender youth,” thus promoting the lie that “men and women can change their gender.”

We are grateful for HB1080, sponsored by Rep. Bethany Soye (R-District 9), to “prohibit certain medical and surgical interventions on minor children.”  HB1080 would prohibit the radical “treatment” for gender dysphoria, which involves puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and irreversible surgeries like double mastectomies and genital removal or reconstruction to “become” the opposite sex. Damages to the minor for such treatment may result in civil action.

Additionally, if a healthcare professional is in violation of the terms of HB1080, their professional license must be revoked. Furthermore, Concerned Women for America (CWA) of South Dakota finds these activities very disturbing, especially among a healthcare institution that takes an oath to “do not harm.” Ironically, healthcare providers blatantly deny the science that tells us one cannot change their God-given sex. Children struggling with gender dysphoria should be protected from unethical medical interventions that ignore underlying causes and reject long-term health and well-being.

You may find more information on CWA’s website here.

ACTION: Email your two representatives and urge them to Vote YES on HB1080 to protect our children. Click here for the list of representatives and their contact information. If you do not know who your state representatives are, click here. Include your name and address so they know you are a constituent. Legislators have asked that we indicate on the subject line your legislative district, for example, “from District 9.” They get so many emails and are only concerned about their constituents. Also, if you are a member of CWA of South Dakota, be sure to let them know.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we pray for those struggling with gender dysphoria that they will believe the truth about Your design for them found in Scripture and reject the lies of Satan. You say in Word in Genesis 1:27, “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” We ask for protection of the hearts and minds of all our children, and we pray for Christians to courageously and lovingly speak God’s truth about Your design for sexuality in a confused and needy world.

In Christ,|
