WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) praised the Supreme Court ruling (Chiles v. Salazar) that nullified a Colorado law that forced counselors to only affirm children who are struggling with gender dysphoria in their new identity.

“This is a win for free speech and for children and families. Colorado’s law was unjust and immoral, preventing counselors from truly helping children struggling with gender dysphoria. Colorado even prohibited counselors from helping children who wanted to change their emotions to align with their sex. Kaley Chiles, a Colorado counselor, courageously set out to challenge this law, and now the Supreme Court has given her this victory,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.

“Children with gender dysphoria deserve to have counselors who will be able to truly help and counsel them, not to be affirmed, under threat of law, in the lie that they were born in the wrong body, or that they can change into the opposite sex. God created us male and female. This victory is further affirmation that truth will win,” Nance said.
