Gov. Doug Burgum Signs Protecting Women’s Sports Bills into Law

Bismarck, North Dakota – Today, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed two bills into law banning transgender girls from participating in girls’ sports at the K-12 and college levels. These laws protect girls’ sports by ensuring that biological males cannot compete in girls’ sports. North Dakota now joins 17 other states that have passed protections for female athletes.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) of North Dakota applauds Gov. Doug Burgum for his courageous action to protect women’s rights to fair play in sporting events. Today in North Dakota, fair competition and equality in girls’ sports for all female athletes is secured.

CWA of North Dakota State Director Linda Thorson has this to say: “We thank Gov. Burgum for standing on the side of female athletes. Not only is this bill about the protection of athletics, but it stands in truth that men and women are different. Thank you, North Dakota, for fighting back against the efforts to erase women and standing with us for all we have accomplished.”
