Our voices were silenced in the legislature on SB25-183 and HB25-1312 by the Majority Party in power, Democrats in the Colorado House. The right to debate and represent your voices on harmful bills was taken away as the Democrats invoked Rule 14 (limiting debate) on SB25-183, and Rule 16 (immediate vote) on HB25-1312.
Our voices will no longer be silenced. Join us, and make your voice heard today!
SB25-183, Coverage for Pregnancy-Related Services, tax-payer-funded Medicaid abortions, was passed in the Senate and last passed in the House Sunday night, April 6. It needs the House Speaker’s signature and then goes quickly to Gov. Jared Polis’s desk.
SB25-183 mandates that a minimum of 1.5 million dollars per year will be allocated out of the Colorado general revenue fund for state-funded Medicaid-covered elective abortions.

HB25-1312, Legal Protections for Transgender Individuals, forbids removal of a child from a parent seeking gender-affirming treatment for the child, thus, favoring parents seeking gender-affirming treatment, and can make Colorado a sanctuary for parents seeking gender-affirming care to avoid legal consequences. This bill redefines “coercive control,” making it possible for parents to lose custody of their child in family court or by Child Protective Services for misgendering or deadnaming their child. Lastly, HB25-1312 prohibits schools from enforcing dress codes based on gender. HB25-1312 passed in the House Sunday night, April 6, after Democrats invoked Rule 16 (immediate vote). It now goes to the Senate for a vote and then to the Governor to be signed.
