Crucial Florida Anti-Life Amendments Fail

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reports that the Sunshine State’s Amendment 4, seeking to protect abortion in the state’s constitution, has failed. The amendment said,

“… no law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.”

The amendment needed 60% of the vote to pass, and it just failed with 57.2% of the vote. This is great news for life. Thousands of babies and their mothers will be protected from harm.

The numbers show us, though, that we have a long way to go to convince many of our fellow citizens that protecting life and supporting mothers is the best policy for our nation.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) praises God for this outcome and commits to supporting every mom and child until we make abortion unthinkable.

Florida’s Amendment 3, seeking to legalize Marijuana, has also failed. The amendment would have “Allow[ed] adults 21 years or older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption by smoking, ingestion, or otherwise …”

This is yet another pro-life, pro-family policy that is sure to prevent the loss of life and promote families flourishing in Florida. Recreational Marijuana use has been proven harmful in many ways, especially when it comes to our children’s future.
