Concerned Women for America Responds to Latest Development in Susan G. Komen/Planned Parenthood Partnership

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Washington, D.C. — The Susan. G. Komen Foundation released a new statement today about the continued controversy of their financial partnership with Planned Parenthood, leading many to believe they have caved to political pressure to continue funding Planned Parenthood. Penny Nance, President and CEO of Concerned Women for America, the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization said:

We are still weeding through what exactly happened here, but none of this changes the fact that Planned Parenthood is under investigation. If Planned Parenthood is found guilty in those criminal investigations, (Medicaid fraud in Texas and California, fraudulent reporting and illegal abortions in Kansas, and yes, the federal congressional investigation, etc.), Komen’s criteria will still disqualify Planned Parenthood from receiving grants, as it should.

Planned Parenthood is corrupt and criminal at its core. For Komen to cut their financial partnership with the pro-abortion system and question Planned Parenthood funding at all shows how far we’ve come as a movement. To watch Planned Parenthood’s very public mafia-style shakedown of the Susan G. Komen Foundation shows the extremes to which they will go to keep their funding. The lesson to be learned here is that if a non-profit should ever decide to give a donation to Planned Parenthood, the minute they stop, they will become a target. I believe this started a much needed conversation on where people’s money goes when they give to organizations like Susan G. Komen and Planned Parenthood.
