Capitol Hill Brief — Religious Discrimination

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Yesterday, I told you about a very important case before the Supreme Court. Trinity Lutheran v. Pauley is the only religious freedom case before the high court this term.

It is a case about a religious preschool that was rejected from a state program that provided reimbursement grants to purchase rubberized surface material for children’s playgrounds.

The children at the school were denied the grant solely because they were affiliated to a religious organization.

To be clear, religious people are not exempted from the fee on the tire purchases that funds these grants.  The government apparently has no problem with taking a religious person’s money, but they then feel free to discriminate against them with impunity.  This simply can’t stand and Concerned Women will be your voice in front of the Court.
