Capitol Hill Brief — Codify Hyde

The idea that women are successful only when the government pays for their abortions is simply insulting. Children do not inhibit upward mobility, in fact, they provide motivation for it. Most American women understand that.

Recent polling found that 62 percent of Americans surveyed, including 45 percent of those identified as “pro-choice,” opposed taxpayer funding for abortion.

That’s why the U.S. House of Representatives voted to codify what is known as the “Hyde Amendment,” to make sure our taxpayer dollars are never used to pay for abortions.

While abortion is unfortunately still legal in America, there is no reason all Americans should be forced to participate in it through their tax dollars.

It’s time to move taxpayer funding away from Planned Parenthood and support local Federally Qualified Health Centers. Tell Mitch McConnell that you’ll fight by his side to defend the unborn.
