The majority of our state legislative body wants to make Californians complicit in the act of abortion. Senate Bill 245 forces all private and public health insurance plans in California to cover abortions with no co-pays or deductibles. This is a serious concern because it violates the consciences of millions of pro-life Californians by forcing abortion funding through their health insurance. This legislation also violates the Weldon Amendment, which prohibits discrimination against health care plans that do not cover abortion.
Every year we lose more than 800,000 babies to abortion in the United States. SB 245 seeks to expand that number by encouraging more moms and dads to opt for abortion in California with the incentives of free abortion coverage. It is our moral and civic duty to let our legislators know that we oppose this appalling bill.

- Contact your Assembly member and urge him or her to vote NO on SB 245. The bill may be voted in the Assembly at any time, so it is critical to make calls and send emails today. If you are a member of Concerned Women for America of California, please be sure to let them know.
