The Virginia General Assembly is back in session, and Concerned Women for America of Virginia is actively combating bills that devalue life, disregard parental rights, demean women, and more. We’re expecting over 2,000 bills this session under the guidance of radical anti-family Gov. Abigail Spanberger. Praise the Lord, we still have faithful men and women working in the Assembly to introduce bills that recognize the dignity of all human beings, and they need all our support to pass this legislation. We expect these to be heard in their respective committees very soon, so here are the four bills you can act on TODAY:
House Bill 1242 (HB1242) requires sports teams sponsored by public schools or a member of Virginia High School League to be designated based on the biological sex of the students who participate. Teams will be either male, female, or co-ed. The bill prohibits any team or sport that is expressly designated to females from being open to biological males.
The bill also allows any student who suffers harm as a result of a violation of this bill or of reporting a violation of this bill to make a civil case.
Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia strongly supports this bill because it recognizes the inherent differences between men and women, boys and girls and seeks to prevent women’s sport teams and women athletes from competing with men.
HB1242 is expected to be heard in the House Education Committee very soon. Call and/or email House Education Committee members. Click here to find the committee members and ask them to support HB1242.
Senate Bill 563 (SB563) provides that parents of public elementary and secondary school children have the fundamental right to opt their children out, without penalty, of any instruction, reading, discussion, presentation, including any audio-visual presentation, school assembly, or activity that includes any gender identity, sexual orientation, transgenderism, or drag show theme or content, and the elementary or secondary school shall make reasonable accommodations during such opt-out period.
The bill also requires any public secondary school student who is 18 years of age or older to, by request of such student, opt-out, without penalty, of any such instruction, reading, discussion, presentation, including any audio-visual presentation, school assembly, or activity, and requires the secondary school to make reasonable accommodations during such opt-out period. A parent should be able to remove their child from anything in the classroom that goes against their morals. This bill provides that option.
House Bill 531 (HB531) Born Alive Infant Protection Act protects newborn children by requiring medical professionals to provide lifesaving care to those infants who survive abortion attempts.
Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia strongly supports this bill because it recognizes the inherent value of all children and ensures that medical professionals use the same degree of professional care to preserve the life and health of any human infant, regardless of the circumstances of their birth.
HB531 is expected to be heard in the House Health and Human Services Committee very soon. Click here to find the committee members and ask them to support HB531.
House Bill 532, Sage’s Law, protects children by requiring schools to notify, get permission from, and actively involve parents when their child expresses sexual incongruence (defined as a difference between an individual’s biological sex and such individual’s perceived or desired gender). Furthermore, a parent’s decision to raise their child in a way that affirms a child’s biological sex shall not be deemed abuse or neglect.
Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia strongly supports Sage’s Law because it recognizes the potentially irreversible, consequential nature of permitting schools and children to navigate this confusion without the parent’s knowledge, active oversight, and involvement.
HB 532 is expected to be heard in the House Education Committee very soon. Click here to find the committee members and ask them to support HB532.

Join us in prayer: Father God, it is not Your will for children to die before they have a chance to live or for children to go the way of sexual confusion. Help parents and medical professionals see the value in every human life and work to protect it. We ask that You protect the children of Virginia from gender confusion. Help parents to change school boards, policies, and curriculum, etc. to create a more favorable environment for their children. Please also protect all the young men and women who will participate in Virginia sports. Keep them safe physically, emotionally and spiritually. Please move the legislators to pass HB1242, HB531, HB532, and SB563.
