URGENT: Our Pro-Life Efforts in Louisiana Will Not Be Undone!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Attorney General Jeff Landry is fighting to ensure that the pro-life bills passed in the 2016 legislative session will stand. We MUST stand with him!

Urgent!  We need for you to make some phone calls TODAY concerning this matter before Friday’s meeting!

The Situation:

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has submitted a budget request to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget which will meet on Friday, September 16, 2016, to discuss important issues, one of which includes mid-year adjustments to the state’s budget.  He is asking for sufficient funds to defend the lawsuit that has been filed by pro-abortion groups challenging the seven pro-life bills that were signed into law during the last legislative session.  Louisiana is a strong, pro-life state, and we have been blessed with tremendous support and approval for our pro-life legislation from our legislators and by Gov. Edwards.

Pro-abortion legal groups have gotten bolder because of recent court decision striking down laws dealing with hospital admitting privilege requirements for abortionists. They are relentless and are taking every opportunity to defy the will of Louisiana’s citizens.  Concerned Women for America of Louisiana stands firm against these legal antics to undo our effort to protect the lives of the unborn and regulate the abortion industry.

Working to safeguard our pro-life laws, the Attorney General’s office will need additional resources, research, additional staff, attorneys, and expert witness testimony.

Sadly, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget has yet to add the Attorney General’s request for these additional funds to the meeting agenda. But we intend for that to change!

We are asking the members of the Committee to add the Attorney General’s request for additional funding to their agenda. We are asking them to honor the will of the people of Louisiana and to help protect and defend our pro-life bills!

 Please Pray:

  • Pray that Attorney General Landry’s budget adjustment request to the September 16 meeting agenda will be approved. Approval of this funding is necessary to protect the lives of women and unborn children of Louisiana.
  • That Attorney General Landry and our legislators will be strengthened in their call to fight for the lives of Louisiana’s unborn babies and the health and life of women.
  • That God will uphold Louisiana’s efforts to remove the evil of abortion from our great state.
  • That Louisiana’s win in this fight will embolden many other states to stand and fight and win.

Please Act:

  • Contact Attorney General Jeff Landry and thank him for his work to safeguard our pro-life, pro-women bills. Let his office know that you have been kept up to date by Concerned Women for America of Louisiana and that you are now going to call each member of the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget to express your support of his budget adjustment request to the September 16 meeting concerning for funds to help protect the current pro-life pro-women bills.
  • Contact each member of the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and ask them to approve Attorney General Landry’s budget adjustment requests to the September 16 meeting agenda. Let them know that you have been kept up to date on this issue by Concerned Women for America of Louisiana.

Call the House (H) switchboard at 225-342-6945 and the Senate (S) switchboard at 225-342-2040 and ask for each Committee member by name.
