Urgent: Mid-Session Florida State Legislative Update

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” -Psalm 51:12-19

Believe it or not, we are already almost halfway through our state legislative session! Currently, we have two bills for which we would like you to pray and act – one more urgent than the other.

HB 1255, sponsored by Dana Trabulsy (R-District 84). This bill requires schools to show a video of fetal development in the womb. It passed out of the House Student Academic Success Subcommittee with a bi-partisan vote.

This bill is expected to be voted on in the House PreK-12 Budget Subcommittee TOMORROW at 12:30 p.m.

Take Action: Please contact the members of the House PreK-12 Budget Subcommittee immediately. Ask them to vote YES on HB 1255. Be sure to let them know that you were informed by Concerned Women for America of Florida.

Please Pray that it continues to pass through committees and goes to the floor for a vote. Pray for each committee member as you contact them.

SB 440 and HB 1495, Gender Identity Employment Practices, sponsored by Sen. Stan McClain (R-District 9) and Rep. Rachel Plakon (R-District 36). This bill prohibits employers from requiring the use of special pronouns.

SB 440 passed out of the Government Oversight and Accountability Committee. It is now in the Senate Committee on Judiciary. A date has not yet been set for a vote.

Take Action: Please contact the members of the Senate Committee on Judiciary. Ask them to vote YES on SB 440. Be sure to let them know that you were informed by Concerned Women for America of Florida.

The LGBTQ and pro-abortion advocates previously protested at the Capitol, causing a one-week delay on the progress of these bills.

Pray these bills pass with no further disruptions from the LGBTQ community. Pray that the legislators stand firm for righteousness and don’t waver. Pray for God to protect the legislators from the physical, spiritual, and emotional attacks of the enemy.
