“America is back,” said President Donald Trump as he gave his first address of his second term to the joint session of Congress. With those words, the President struck a positive, upbeat, and optimistic tone that gave hope to all Americans, regardless of party affiliation.
He spoke of common sense, and that theme carried him as he outlined his vision for the country. “Our country will be woke no longer,” a refreshing and reassuring sound to those who suffered under the oppressive actions of a woke Biden regime that utilized the power of government to go against parents at schoolboard meetings, peaceful pro-life protestors, and even political opponents.
No longer is ideology primary for advancement. He said, “We believe whether you are a doctor, an accountant, a lawyer or an air traffic controller, you should be hired and promoted based on skill and competence not race or gender.”
Concerned Women for America (CWA) members cheered as he affirmed, “We have removed the poison of Critical Race Theory from our public schools, and I signed an order making it the official policy of the U.S. government that there are only two genders: male or female.”
The president had invited Payton McNabb as an example of the grave injustice that woke policies have had for women.
“Three years ago, Payton McNabb was an all-star high school athlete, one of the best, preparing for a future in college sports. But when her girls’ volleyball match was invaded by a man, he smashed the ball so hard in Payton’s face, causing traumatic brain injury, partially paralyzing her right side and ending her athletic career. It was a shot like she’d never seen before. She’s never seen anything like it. Payton is here tonight in the gallery, and Payton, from now on, schools will kick the men off the girls’ team or they will lose all federal funding.”
He also reminded Americans he “signed an executive order to ban men from playing in women’s sports.”
“It’s demeaning for women, and it’s very bad for our country. We’re not going to put up with it any longer,” he concluded, as he described it all as a commonsense revolution.
It all fits together. Even the cuts in waste, fraud, and abuse outlined as he described the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) strikes any reasonable person as common sense. Take a look at some of the spending he listed. Remember this spending comes out of the money the government takes from your paycheck.
- $45 million for diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarships in Burma.
- $40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants. Nobody knows what that is.
- $8 million to promote L.G.B.T.Q.I.+ in the African nation of Lesotho.
- $60 million for Indigenous peoples and Afro-Caribbean empowerment in Central America.
- $8 million for making mice transgender.
- $32 million for a left-wing propaganda operation in Moldova.
- $10 million for male circumcision in Mozambique.
- $20 million for the Arab “Sesame Street” in the Middle East.
- $14 million for social cohesion in Mali.
- $59 million for illegal alien hotel rooms in New York City.
- $250,000 to increase vegan local climate action innovation in Zambia.
- $42 million for social and behavioral change in Uganda.
- And $101 million for D.E.I. contracts at the Department of Education.
No American working several jobs to sustain their family wants to take money from their paycheck for this type of nonsense.
The President even said his aim is to balance the federal budget, something conservatives have only dreamed of because it seemed so far off.
All this mismanagement has been done, for the most part, not by elected officials, but by the permanent D.C. bureaucracy, which has frustrated Americans everywhere. The president decried that, too. “The days of rule by unelected bureaucrats are OVER!”
Perhaps the most moving words from the president came as he talked about loving children as created in the image of God. He spoke of a very special guest that allowed him to discuss this essential topic:
“My administration is also working to protect our children from toxic ideologies in our schools. A few years ago, January Littlejohn and her husband discovered that their daughter’s school had secretly socially transitioned their 13-year-old little girl; teachers and administrators conspired to deceive January and her husband while encouraging their daughter to use a new name and pronouns – they/them pronouns actually. All without telling January, who is here tonight and is now a courageous advocate against this form of child abuse. January, thank you.”
The president then reminded us of his executive order banning public schools from indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology. He said, “I also signed an order to cut off all taxpayer funding to any institution that engages in the sexual mutilation of our youth.” He then asked Congress to act to make the ban permanent. He said he wants to end “the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body. This is a big lie.”
He concluded saying, “Our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you.”
Amen, Mr. President. Amen!
