Together, we are standing against Human Trafficking in Pennsylvania

“Where there is no guidance, a people falls,
but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
– Proverbs 11:14

Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Pennsylvania had the wonderful opportunity to attend a bipartisan, bicameral press conference at the state Capitol to announce the formation of a new Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) Caucus.

This initiative will bring together bipartisan support and cooperation with lawmakers from both chambers and across party lines with a shared commitment to combat the scourge of human trafficking and to support victims and survivors throughout our state.

Speakers from across the aisle stressed the need for unified, coordinated efforts to address this ongoing crisis in our communities.  We are thankful for the following legislators of this newly formed group:

  • Cris Dush, Co-Chair (R-District 25)
  • Maria Collett (D-District 12)
  • Marty Flynn (D-District 22)
  • Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-District 28)
  • Danilo Burgos (D-District 197)
  • Kate Klunk (R-District 169)
  • Clint Owlett (R-District 68)
  • Regina Young (D- District 185)

Words cannot express how refreshing it is to see and hear speaker after speaker from across the aisle share such strong bipartisan support for a cause that touches so many vulnerable people in our state and nation. This caucus is a powerful symbol of the growing understanding that human trafficking is not a partisan issue.

We look forward to following the work of this caucus and partnering alongside this significant effort. Together, we must fight to end this evil.

PRAYER: Father, we thank You for bold voices that are speaking truth and shining light into hidden places.  We ask that You give wisdom and courage to our lawmakers and organizations working to end human trafficking.  Oh God, mend hearts that have been broken and restore dignity as You surround them with loving and safe communities.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
