And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us … (Psalms 90:17)
What does it mean to remain resolute in a nation celebrating its 250th birthday? It means remembering what shaped us, recognizing what is at stake, and being willing to stand firm in our faith and convictions for the generations who will follow.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Pennsylvania was honored to join leaders from across the country for the 2026 CWA Leadership Summit, Resolute: One Nation Under God, held September 17–19 in Washington, D.C. More than 600 women gathered for three days of worship, prayer, fellowship, and engagement, renewing their commitment to stand firm in their faith and preserve the freedoms that have shaped our nation. We were privileged to hear from Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and other Christian leaders who encouraged us to remain steadfast in our convictions and faithful to our calling. Speaker Johnson declared, “Concerned Women for America is having its finest moment in history.”

One of the summit’s most moving moments came when Iranian American journalist and women’s rights activist Masih Alinejad shared her story of challenging the persecution of women in Iran. Despite facing death threats and surviving attempts on her life, she continues to speak out against oppression. I was deeply moved by her courage and grateful for her willingness to share her story. Her testimony renewed my appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy in America and reminded me that freedom is a gift we must never take for granted. I left grateful for women like Masih, who risk so much to defend women’s God-given dignity and rights and give a voice to those who cannot speak freely.
Taking Pennsylvania’s Voice to Capitol Hill
CWA leaders put that commitment into practice by meeting with members of Congress to advocate for legislation supporting mothers and their children.
CWA of Pennsylvania extends its sincere thanks to Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-District 15) for agreeing to cosponsor the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act. This legislation would help connect expectant mothers and families facing unexpected or difficult pregnancies with information about public and private resources available in their communities.
We appreciate Congressman Thompson’s willingness to support this legislation. When mothers and families face difficult circumstances, knowing where to turn for help matters. Our conversations on Capitol Hill reinforced the importance of bringing our convictions into the public square and working toward meaningful support for families.
Bringing the Commitment Home to Pennsylvania
The summit reminded us that each of us has a role in putting our faith into action. Here in Pennsylvania, Irene Harris, our Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Coordinator, was recognized with an award for her faithful service. Irene has encouraged women across the Commonwealth to pray for their legislators and build relationships through personal notes, letters, and other expressions of encouragement.

Please join me in congratulating Irene on this well-deserved recognition! We are grateful for her heart for this ministry and her dedication to inspiring others to put prayer into action. Thank you, Irene, for serving so faithfully and inspiring others to do the same!

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, we must ask ourselves: What legacy will we leave for the next generation? Preserving our nation’s freedoms requires more than remembering our history. It calls us to live out our faith, stand firm in our convictions, and faithfully pass these principles on to those who follow.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we ask You to guide our nation and grant our leaders wisdom, integrity, and courage. May our nation remain rooted in the principles of faith and freedom upon which it was founded. Help us to stand firm in our convictions, preserve these blessings, and pass them on to future generations. Keep us resolute in our faith and faithful to Your calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
