The Left has Left out Details (Again)

By now, you’ve heard the news circulating around the video which exposed Planned Parenthood’s disgraceful selling of aborted baby parts. One would think the other side would remain silent, for it would be absurd to comment on something that most Americans would agree is embarrassingly inhumane. Nonetheless, many pro-aborts are continuing to back Planned Parenthood, calling the video deceptive and misleading. Below are a few of the arguments coming from the pro-choice side, specifically from an article titled, “3 Deceptive Edits in the Video Claiming Planned Parenthood Is ‘Selling Aborted Baby Parts,’” followed by a rebuttal.  Let’s be honest; it wasn’t hard to do.

Article: “But The Unedited Footage Reveals PPFA Official Was Discussing Reimbursement Costs For Legal Donation Process During Those Missing Minutes. The unedited video reveals the full context for Nucatola’s cost comments. Right after the video jumps forward, Nucatola specifically references exact ‘shipping’ and other associated costs which could legally be reimbursed, before discussing affiliates’ general ‘bottom line’ attempts to ‘break even.’”

First of all, quit talking like this is a business deal. Planned Parenthood, you’re not shipping paper or food products; you are shipping human beings.

Second, the nine-minute video is not meant to be deceptive. Parts of the conversation would, naturally, be left out. That is the point of an edit. Let’s face it, in today’s culture, people do not want to spend 150 minutes watching a video. They want a quick version that recaps the major points. Also, the extra video footage was not a secret; the transcript and the longer version were also released for those who were interested in viewing the video in its entirety.

Article: “PPFA Official Repeatedly Referred to ‘Tissue Donation,’ Not Sale, In Unedited Transcript. Dr. Nucatola repeatedly refers to ‘tissue donation’ during the conversation.”

Talk of “tissue donation” holds no weight when Planned Parenthood has consistently shown a history of blatant disregard for human life. The ends do not justify the means. Since when is PP concerned about saving lives? Just because the tissue may be used for research does not cover up the fact that this group has killed over six million babies since the 1970s.

Article: “Federal Law Does Not Prohibit Donations Of Fetal Tissue With Consent. Federal law regarding the use of human fetal tissue does not prohibit the use of donated materials. Health and Human Services Independent Review Board: Providers May Accept Payment ‘For Reasonable Expenses’ With ‘Informed Consent.’”

Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it is moral. When you bring in the legal aspect and use language such as “donated materials,” you gloss over and ignore the fact that you first have to end the life of a child in order to obtain those “donated materials” … donated materials being the body parts of an innocent human being. Verbiage like this desensitizes people to the reality of abortion and makes murder seem, in a sense, a form of charity.

The Truth:

According to Susan B. Anthony List Fact Sheet, in the 2013-2014 Annual Report, Planned Parenthood:

  • Received $528 million in taxpayer funding
  • Performed 327,653 abortions
  • Performed 174 abortions for every adoption referral
  • Received $127 million in excess revenue, and over $1.4 billion in net assets

Since the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade, it is estimated that more than 56 million babies have been aborted in the U.S. — which, to put that number in perspective, is relatively equal to the population of Texas, North Carolina, and New York combined. Since the 1970s, Planned Parenthood has murdered over six million innocent human beings.

When pro-abortion activists are ready to talk those details and discrepancies, then we’ll engage in conversation. Until then, it is time to stop using verbiage which masks one of today’s largest and most inhumane industries — the murder, and now the selling, of vulnerable human beings whom our Creator purposely formed.
