Question the Mules

By | Electoral College, LBB, Legal, News and Events | No Comments

Question the mules. That’s the only reasonable response to the evidence presented by Dinesh D’Souza’s new movie, 2000 Mules. The documentary offers concerning evidence of election fraud in the 2020 election that should be investigated. Whatever your views on former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden, they are not the focus of the investigation.

It is uncontroverted that states bent and amended election rules when faced with the COVID-19 pandemic. Mail-in and absentee ballots were greatly expanded with little time for proper implementation. Hundreds of drop-off boxes were added to ensure everyone had access to them while maintaining social distancing, but many went unmonitored. That’s where D’Souza’s documentary raises some critical questions and gives us an urgent cautionary tale for future elections. We must do better.

How secure were these drop boxes? Do we have a way to monitor them? How do we stop bad actors from abusing the system? No one needs to be depositing multiple ballots at 2:00 a.m.

The film does not answer all the questions. For example, the organizations from which these mules were allegedly getting ballots are generically referenced but not mentioned by name. But the evidence presented of people depositing several ballots at a time using gloves and taking pictures so as to document that they had deposited them is seriously suspicious and should be quickly investigated.

The attorneys general in the states involved should follow up with an investigation. True the Vote (TTV), the organization that provided the information to D’Souza, has the names of the individuals and organizations involved, and they are willing to cooperate with law enforcement. So why wouldn’t every state want to follow up and either clear the record or catch and expose the perpetrators as a strong deterrent for future elections?

Conspiracies are not good for our democracy, and ignoring the legitimate evidence presented in the documentary will only fuel those. On the other hand, an investigation would serve to tamper speculations and give confidence to voters, whatever the outcome, by answering some basic questions about what happened and punishing any bad actors.

The crux of the investigation is the identification of 2,000 individuals who deposited multiple ballots while visiting an average of 20-30 drop boxes and stopping by left-leaning non-profit organizations in between those visits. These are identified as the mules. TTV used commercial cell phone tracking data to identify and track these individuals. The evidence becomes compelling when they are able to obtain footage of some individuals depositing multiple ballots at locations that kept surveillance on some drop boxes.

Not all locations were on camera, though, which has raised some questions. Though it is not unreasonable to think they were doing the same at other sites, you are left wishing there was more on tape. The fact that some locations that were supposed to be monitored somehow were not also raises concerns. Again, the evidence is compelling enough for law enforcement to go and ask the questions at the very least. If nothing wrong was done, they should be able to confirm it.

The documentary features one person who says they believe they were involved in paying “mules” for this work, which is not legal in any state. But she cannot corroborate it completely because she can only say she assumes she was handing out checks. She also says she had been approached about her own ballot. It is conceivable that others may come forward if an investigation is started.

Contact your state attorney general and express your desire to see a full investigation into the matter.

The documentary is certainly a must watch for anyone interested in the topic. But ultimately, my prayer is that you are left inspired, not frustrated, to become part of the solution and get involved in the election process in your state. Sunshine is the best policy when it comes to our election procedures.

We Need Your Help in Georgia!

By | Georgia, National Sovereignty, News and Events | No Comments

Control of the U.S. Senate hinges on the January 5, 2021, Georgia runoffs between Sen. David Perdue (Republican-Incumbent) and Jon Ossoff (Democrat), and between Sen. Kelly Loeffler (Republican-Incumbent) and Raphael Warnock (Democrat). Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) is fully engaged in the GOTV and prayer efforts in Georgia for the two U.S. Senate runoff races, and we invite YOU to join in our efforts.

Background: Senate elections are normally staggered in the states. Though not typical, there is a reason why there are two Senate races in the same year and in the same state. Incumbent Sen. David Perdue (Republican) was up for reelection for another six-year term. Georgia law requires a 50% plus one vote for a race not to be thrown into a runoff. Sen. Perdue has a current 49.9% lead over his opponents. Incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (Republican) was appointed to her Senate seat last year by Gov. Brian Kemp to fill the vacancy of retired Sen. Johnny Isakson (Republican). The winner of the Loeffler/Warnock race will run again in 2022.

What’s at Stake with the Runoff Elections

  • Life – Would flip the Senate to a pro-abortion majority. Ending the filibuster rule requiring 60 votes would mean any bill to promote and pay for abortion could be enacted.
  • Judges – Even if the filibuster rule stays in place, it only takes 51 votes to confirm judges. Activist judges could be nominated and confirmed, and political court-packing would be possible.
  • Religious Freedom – Democrats would gut the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and impose government mandates forcing sexual and gender ideology on society through the Equality Act.

How You Can Help:

  • Travel to Georgia the weeks of November 30 and/or December 7 to assist with Get Out the Vote door to door canvassing and phone banking. You can go anytime your schedule allows, but the two weeks listed are the most critical. We can use you for a day, days, or the entire week!
  • Do phone banking either in Georgia or remotely from your home.
  • Organize a prayer event(s) to pray specifically for the Georgia runoff elections.

Volunteer Today:

Click here to fill out the form letting us know of your availability to help with the Georgia runoff races. While this is not a paid position, we can assist in helping you seek out housing options.

What sets CWA apart from other organizations?
Our emphasis on prayer and action at the grassroots.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord …and who labors fervently in prayer. The greatest force for change on behalf of our families and country is indeed prayer and the responsibilities that come with our citizenship in a free country. All the resources of God Almighty are at our disposal, and He rules in all the affairs of men, and nothing is too hard for Him.

The essential balance between the two

One only needs to read or listen to a daily news report or social media to recognize the destruction that is taking place.  Whether it be the increased violence in America, the rabid assault on the family, or the barrage of attacks on the leaders God has placed over us, we need to execute the power of prayer and then take the necessary action to back up our convictions.

Balance between both prayer and action is vital for all believers.  James speaks of this when commending heroes of the faith, “You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone” (2:24).

These elements are crucial to restoring our states and nation and to preserving our families. Truly, our 400+ Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams nationwide are the lifeblood of Concerned Women for America.

So how can you make a difference?

CWA’s Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams provide the perfect vehicle for you to stay engaged in local, state and federal policies as part of a united prayer and action network.

Ephesians 6: 18 and 20 provide one of the Scriptural foundations for Prayer/Action Chapters: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints … for which I am an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Prayer/Action chapters enable members to:

  • Be alert and informed on the issues (Ephesians 6:18b);
  • Pray about these issues (Ephesians 6:18a);
  • Act on those issues (Ephesians 6:20).

It’s easy to become a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter Leader or Home Team Captain. Simply join CWA if you’re not already a member and submit a leadership application. Upon approval of your application, we will send instructional materials to you. I will provide training and help prepare you to become the confident leader of a successful Prayer/Action Chapter.

Here’s what Prayer/Action Chapter Leaders from around the country have said:

“I was just praying about the next thing God wanted me to do, and I know that it is with CWA. He has made that very clear.  I believe the time is narrowing when He will return, and we must do everything within His will to work His plan.”

“It is an exciting time to make positive change. … I’m inspired, energized and full of hope by the unequivocal voice of the country.  It’s time for action.”

“I believe that this election let us know how important it is for Christians to stay involved. The Lord has been persistent in His message to me. My argument was time, but He has allowed me to see that this is a priority.  We must preserve our Christian nation for future generations.”

Remember, your prayers, personal involvement, and action are vital to the future of our children and of our nation.

Voter guides for Georgia’s May 22 primary election

By | Georgia | No Comments

Political television ads, radio ads, mail pieces, and yard signs must mean one thing – this is election season!  If you have not voted early, please be sure to vote this coming Tuesday in the May 22 primary election. Voter turnout is typically low in a non-presidential election year, but I cannot think of a more critical year to cast your vote than this year when all of Georgia’s Constitutional officers are up for election, starting with the Governor.

Voters have a significant impact upon the laws and government of this state and nation. It is important that we be informed, educated voters. We should know the candidates and the issues.

  • Who will best represent your values and concerns?
  • What are the candidates’ positions on current issues affecting you and your family?
  • Are the candidates’ campaign speeches in alignment with their voting record?
  • Who is endorsing each candidate?
  • How did each candidate vote on important issues in the past?

Be proactive – an uneducated vote is a wasted vote!

#1 Study voter guides/candidate surveys. Here are candidate surveys for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and State School Superintendent. *

#2 Attend candidate forums or watch them online. The Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young Debate Series is a great resource to learn where the candidates stand on issues. The debate series included the primary election debates for Governor, Lt. Governor, Insurance Commissioner, Secretary of State, State School Superintendent, Public Service Commission districts three and five, and Congressional Districts six, seven and ten. You can view any of the archived debates here.

#3 Visit the website and social media pages of each candidate.

#4 Listen to talk radio and watch state and national news.

While we are citizens of the United States of America, foremost, we are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven and our vote should mirror God’s views.

The institution of government was ordained by God. It is our duty, as Christians and citizens, to be active participants in the governmental process. Therefore, seek the Lord’s wisdom through prayer (and fasting) before you cast your vote.

“Select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and ten”(Exodus 18:21).

Thank you for making a difference for the Kingdom of God here in Georgia!

Georgia’s 2016 Legislative Wrap-Up

By | Georgia | No Comments

Concerned Women for America of Georgia Legislative Action Committee
2016 Legislative Session Wrap Up

The fast-paced 2016 state legislative session came to a close at midnight on March 24. The 40-day session opened on January 11, and State Director Tanya Ditty represented your interests as a volunteer lobbyist at the State Capitol throughout the entire legislative session.

Concerned Women for America’s seven core issues are: Sanctity of Life, Defense of Family, Education, Religious Liberty, National Sovereignty, Sexual Exploitation, and Support for Israel. Legislation this session encompassed several of these core issues. On-the-ground lobbying efforts combined with grassroots prayer and action gets results! Without calls and e-mails from CWA members and friends, successes would have been more difficult to achieve.

CWA of Georgia had an aggressive list of legislative priorities for the 2016 legislative session.  Many of the legislative priorities were not addresses by the General Assembly this year. We did want to highlight for you a few of the bills that we fought hard to support or oppose.

Religious Freedom
VETO-stampAfter a three-year battle to pass a religious freedom bill in Georgia, a compromise was reached between the House and Senate, and HB 757, the Free Exercise Protection Act was passed. Less than two weeks later, Gov. Nathan Deal caved and vetoed the bill. Was HB 757 perfect?  No.  Was the compromise bill worth supporting? Yes. Georgians saw nothing unreasonable in this legislation, yet Gov. Deal chose to turn his back on people of faith. Read CWA of Georgia press release.

In a poll taken by national pollster Clout Research after the passage of HB 757, this question was posed:  Should Gov. Nathan Deal sign the [religious freedom] legislation?  Sixty-six percent agreed that Gov. Deal should sign the legislation. There was majority support for the bill across political parties, in all fourteen congressional districts and across all demographic groups.  The poll also showed that 80 percent said the tide of political correctness has run amuck in this state, endangering our fundamental right to freedom of conscience – the right to think and believe what we want without fear of punishment.

At a press conference following the veto announcement, CWA of Georgia State Director Tanya Ditty made this statement, “Clearly Gov. Deal is out of touch with the people of our state. This is why people are angry with the politicians in our nation. They are elected to represent the will of the people – not Hollywood values, not Wall Street values. They are elected to represent the voters of Georgia, and that does not preclude the people of faith.”

Sadly, Gov. Deal sold our religious freedom protections for thirty pieces of silver. Instead of signing a bill that provided broad-based religious freedom protections for all Georgians, Deal buckled to the pressure of the LBGT community, the film industry, the NFL, Atlanta’s hometown teams the Falcons, Braves and Hawks, and large corporate interests, such as the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Home Depot, Delta, Coca Cola, SunTrust, UPS, Disney, and Salesforce.

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Speaker David Ralston have vowed to work on religious freedom legislation next year. There is a strong appetite for religious liberty in this state, and CWA of Georgia will continue to work tirelessly until a broad-based religious protections bill is passed and signed by the governor.

lobby 1Defense of Family
STOPPED sign“Georgia Civil Rights in Public Accommodations Act”
Introduced by Rep. Rich Golick (R-Smyrna), HB 849 would have placed in state code the federal code that prohibits public accommodations discrimination. Taken at face value, this bill posed no dangers to Georgians. However, CWA of Georgia opposed HB 849 for several reasons. First, HB 849 was not necessary – public accommodation protections are already codified in 42 U.S.C. Section 2000a.

Second, HB 849 could have easily been amended to include “sexual orientation”. Data shows that of the 45 states that have embodied the federal code in their respective state code, 22 states now prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and 18 prohibit discrimination based on gender identity.

Third, HB 849 was amended in committee to include “sex.” Here was the danger in the amendment: the Obama administration has deemed “sex” an elastic term, and regards “gender” (how one feels) synonymous with “sex” (biology), and is aggressively embedding “gender” as a part of federal policy, including Title IX funding.  As recent as December 2015, a Chicago suburb high school must now allow a transgendered male to female student full access to female restrooms and locker rooms or risk losing Title IX funding.  Passing the bill could have had grave consequences for our public school students.

Lastly, CWA of Georgia opposes any real or potential Sexual Orientation Gender Identity nondiscrimination legislation, i.e., “bathroom bills”, which would allow transgendered men and women to utilize the bathrooms, showers and locker rooms of their choice.

Stopping HB 849 was a victory for the privacy and safety of women and children.

Gambling: Casinos and horse racing
STOPPED signThe efforts to expand predatory gambling via casinos and pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing were stopped for this year! The following bills were passed out of their respective committees but were not voted on by either the House or Senate.

  • HR 807, the proposed constitutional amendment for casino gambling and HB 677, the enabling legislation for HR 807.  Bill sponsor: Rep. Ron Stephens (R-Savannah).
  • SR 135, the proposed constitutional amendment to allow pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing and SB 264, the enabling legislation for SR 135. Bill sponsor: Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta).

Stopping the gambling bills was a major victory, because any form of gambling is destructive and causes irreversible harm on individuals and families.

Marijuana:  In-state cultivation of marijuana
STOPPED signIntroduced by Rep. Allen Peake (R-Macon), HB 722 sought to permit in-state cultivation of marijuana for the purpose of extracting cannabis oil for medicinal purposes. The bill would have also expanded the medical conditions eligible for medical marijuana (cannabis oil). HB 722 passed the House but died in the Senate.

CWA of Georgia opposed HB 722 because it would have brought Georgia one step closer to the outright legalization of recreational marijuana.

Education
Textbook transparency

Introduced by Rep. Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville), HB 739  provides for an open and transparent approval process for state and local instructional materials and content. The bill also requires school districts to post online the textbooks that are currently be used in their schools. HB 739 passed the legislature and is awaiting the governor’s signature. CWA of Georgia supported this bill.

Digital Learning Platform transparency bill
Sponsored by Sen. William Ligon (R-Brunswick), SB 281 would require schools to notify parents prior to using any digital learning platform. The bill was tabled in the Senate Education and Youth Committee. CWA of Georgia supported this bill.

You can review all the bills that CWA of Georgia tracked this year by clicking here.

Encourage-A-Legislator Prayer Project
This was CWA of Georgia’s thirteenth year to pray for and send note cards of encouragement to state legislators. Scripture commands us in I Timothy 2:2 to pray for “kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness,” and over 60 volunteers did just that!  These volunteers prayed and encouraged 100 state legislators during the 40-day session.

So what lies ahead in 2016?
One doesn’t need to look far to see that powerful forces are at work to destroy not only our state and nation, but our culture, our families and our way of life. But even in these unsettling times, God had promised restoration to that nation whose people will humble themselves and pray.

In the midst of attacks on our faith, it is easy for people of faith to retreat and to simply close their hearts and minds to the madness happening all around them.

But we can do the opposite! Instead of retreating and closing off the world, CWA of Georgia is boldly moving forward in strength and confidence, seeking God’s face and calling on Him to reset our state…as we work to restore our foundational stones. CWA CEO and President Penny Nance said this, “During this time in our country’s history – with the cultural battle raging around us – it’s never been more important that the voice of conservative women be heard – loud and clear.”

Common Core Update for Georgia – Action Item Included

By | Georgia | No Comments

Over two and half years ago, a groundswell of support began growing all across this state to withdraw Georgia from the Common Core standards, national tests and the intrusive data-tracking system. This past March, the state legislature failed to pass SB 167, and, as a result, Georgia continues to align itself with the national standards and testing movement, In addition, the collection and tracking of student data by the Georgia Department of Education and private vendors goes unabated.

We must continue to fight against the reckless decision of Georgia’s former governor to shackle Georgia’s students to unvetted and untested standards.  The State Board of Education and the House Education Study Committee on the Role of Federal Government in Education are hosting hearings over the next three months. Take action today by attending the meetings and speaking out against the Common Core.  Citizens can sign up to speak, and we highly encourage you to do so.

Here are the details:

  • The State Board of Education (SBOE) is holding hearings on the Common Core in each congressional district. The meeting for each district is announced in the legal organs of each county two weeks prior to the meeting.  Citizens are encouraged to sign up to speak at the meetings. Click here for the meeting dates/times. (list updated 8-21-14)
  • The Georgia House of Representatives passed H.R. 550, a resolution that created the House Study Committee on the Role of Federal Government in Education.  The study committee is holding four hearings.  Citizens are encouraged to sign up to speak at the meetings. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2014.  Click here for details.

Pray without ceasing for Gov. Nathan Deal and the State Board of Education members that they will come to understand that the influencers of the Common Core mean harm for Georgia students. Pray they will take decisive action today to return control of all education decisions to the citizens of Georgia.

CWA of Georgia will not rest until we have reversed course and stopped the national standards movement in Georgia. It is imperative that all outside influences, including the federal government get out of the education business in Georgia. Educational solutions for Georgia children should be made in the state of Georgia.
