#1 – Linda Thorson’s, interview on Real Presence Radio Station (Podcast):

Linda and Fr. James Cheney talk about the Planned Parenthood and North Dakota State University provision of a Sex Education Professional Development credit to ND teachers.

Interview on this topic begins at the 6: 10-minute mark.

#2 – Columnist from the Fargo Forum recognizes a discouraging and disappointing friendship between Planned Parenthood and NDSU.

“Linda Thorson, state director for Concerned Women for America, offered a fitting analogy in her letter, asking how taxpayers would feel if North Dakota, which leads the nation in binge and underage drinking, were to partner with Anheuser-Busch to provide training on safe alcohol consumption, then funnel grant money back to its instructors.”

Link to Thorson’s letter.

#3 – Questions Answered:  State Senator and past State Director of CWA of ND discusses AMA lawsuit against ND abortion laws.

CWA of North Dakota is mentioned by Host Joel Heitkamp at the 11:31 mark of the interview.

#4 – Read CWA of North Dakota’s Press Release.

Hear CWA of North Dakota this Thursday, June 27

By | North Dakota | No Comments

Despite the concerns of many lawmakers and citizens like YOU, the president of North Dakota State University (NDSU), Dean Bresciani, did not cancel the Safe Spaces teacher professional development courses offered this month by Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota (Planned Parenthood). Sadly, President Bresciani has allowed this partnership with Planned Parenthood and NDSU to remain.

Read Concerned Women for America (CWA) of North Dakota’s concerns about the partnership here.

This discussion is not over!  Join me this coming Thursday, June 27, at 9:05 a.m. on Real Presence Radio, 1370AM, 1280AM, and 101.9 FM, where I will be speaking on how Planned Parenthood’s tactics usurp the authority given to school districts to choose curriculum. Also speaking is Fr. Jim Cheney from the NDSU Newman Center who will discuss the issue from the NDSU perspective.

CWA of North Dakota would like to thank the eighty-nine legislators who signed a letter expressing their displeasure with NDSU’s continued public partnership with Planned Parenthood (names are listed at the bottom of this email.) Pray for each legislator by name. Thank God for their willingness to stand up against the attempts of Planned Parenthood to infiltrate our schools. Pray fervently 2 Thessalonians 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

To our CWA of North Dakota members who contacted President Bresciani’s office in April and May about this partnership, thank you!

Please Take Action
Once again, we need everyone to take the opportunity to protect North Dakota’s children from Planned Parenthood’s harmful propaganda.

  1. Contact NDSU President Dean Bresciani with a message you are disappointed the teacher training workshops scheduled in Dickinson, Fargo and Grand Forks were not canceled. Contact information for the president: Chris Wilson, Chief of Staff, (701) 231-6409 and [email protected]. When talking to President Dean Bresciani’s office, be sure to let them know that you are a member of Concerned Women for America of North Dakota.
  2. Donate to CWA of North Dakota to help us continue educating on the lies of Planned Parenthood and their targeted education propaganda.
  3. Please forward this email to family and friends.

Planned Parenthood and NDSU have teamed up AGAIN

By | North Dakota | No Comments

Planned Parenthood is using the backdoor to enter North Dakota schools by offering a free workshop to classroom teachers! Their plan is obvious – what better way to influence children but through building a relationship with teachers. North Dakota State University (NDSU) is offering the workshop, Safe Spaces, a professional development class for sex education teachers. Planned Parenthood is even offering scholarships to teachers so that the NDSU Professional Development credit is covered by Planned Parenthood. Classes will be held June 3-4 in Dickinson, June 6-7 in Fargo, and June 13-14 in Grand Forks. The classes are open to any teacher with students kindergarten through grade 12!

More about Safe Spaces
The Safe Spaces course is offered through a partnership between NDSU and Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota. It is advertised as a “comprehensive, medically-accurate, and age appropriate” course. You can watch Minnesota legislators debate the Safe Spaces curriculum here.

The materials recommended in Safe Spaces do not belong in the classroom! Under the category of “Books for Children,” Planned Parenthood’s recommended curriculum for children as young as ten years old includes, It’s Perfectly Normal by Robbie Harris, a former member of Planned Parthood’s National Board of Advocates. This book for elementary aged children contains graphic drawings of female and male anatomy and cover topics such as sexual intercourse (vaginal, oral and anal sex), abortion, and homosexuality.

(Caution, some of the links below are offensive and inappropriate for children.)

Click here to learn more about Planned Parenthood’s recommended sex education curriculum for all students, aged kindergarten through high school.

Together, again, we can stop the Safe Spaces courses from taking place!
Just last year, CWA and other pro-family voices spoke out against the Safe Spaces teacher training workshops that were scheduled to held in Mandan, Minot, and Jamestown. Because you took action, two of the three events were canceled

Please Take Action:
1. Contact NDSU President, Dean Bresciani, at [email protected] and ask him to cancel all Safe Spaces classes and to discontinue NDSU’s affiliation with Planned Parenthood. Others to contact in President Bresciani’s office:

  • Chief of Staff Chris Wilson: [email protected]  and (701) 231-6409
  • Executive Assistant to the President Stephanie Wawers: [email protected] and(701) 231-7211
  • Associate Executive Assistant to the President LaDonna DeGeldere: [email protected] and (701) 231-8522

2. Considering sharing the additional Planned Parenthood talking points at the bottom of the page when talking with NDSU.
3. Forward this on to friends and family and ask them to both pray and take action.

Please Pray! Join me in thanking God for opportunities to protect our children from harm. “He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.”  Proverbs 21:21

Planned Parenthood is the last group we want teaching our teachers how to teach our children! This issue is so very important!  We must speak up and keep Planned Parenthood away from our students!

Thank you for your commitment to both prayer and action.

Linda Thorson
State Director
CWA of North Dakota

Additional Planned Parenthood talking points:
There is a well-documented connection between Planned Parenthood and sex traffickers. When sex trafficked victims become pregnant as a result of their abuse, they are often coerced into having abortions.  Planned Parenthood has been caught on film helping pimps obtain abortions for their victims, including minors!  The only thing Planned Parenthood did to fix the situation after it was made public was train employees how to avoid making incriminating statements, not how to identify victims of sex trafficking. You can read more about this in the January 2018 Washington Times story.

Planned Parenthood has also been known to teach acceptance of BDSM (bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadomasochism) to our youth.

CWA of North Dakota Attends Bill Signing Ceremony

By | North Dakota | No Comments

Last week, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed into law HB 1546, a bill making it a felony for a physician in North Dakota to perform a dismemberment abortion. See story here and Concerned Women for America (CWA) of North Dakota’s alert here.

Today at the State Capitol in Bismarck, CWA of North Dakota State Director, Linda Thorson, joined Gov. Doug Burgum, North Dakota legislators, and other pro-life leaders for the Bill Signing Ceremony for HB 1546.

CWA of North Dakota is very grateful for every one of these pro-life leaders!

“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice
before the Lord.”  Psalm 96: 11,12
