Merry Christmas from CWA of Virginia!

Concerned Women for America of Virginia
Wishes you a Merry Christmas!

As Christmas Day approaches, we reflect on what the Lord has done in and through us this year. We stand amazed at the reality of Jesus’ presence with us as we visited legislators, participated in multiple pro-life events, encouraged legislators with daily prayer and weekly hand-written notes, grew our prayer/action footprint throughout the state, and so much more. Our Lord has been with us in our times of rejoicing and success and in our times of discouragement and defeat.

We are grateful to God for your involvement in the ministry of Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia. Whether you are a participating member or in a leadership role, your engagement in your community and in the Commonwealth has made a significant difference for good.

We are looking ahead to 2023 and all that lies ahead with great anticipation. We believe that with concerted prayer, seeking the Lord’s wisdom in all that we do, extending both truth and grace in all that we do, that new doors of opportunity will be opened, the Lord will be glorified, and His perfect will, will be done.

We are so thankful for each of you and your partnership with CWA of Virginia. We have seen Jesus’ presence in the rich relationships that He has blessed us with over this past year. Your prayers and financial support allow us to stand at the ready, come what may.

CWA of Virginia’s team is ready to engage in a post-Roe America! We are poised, positioned, and prepared to execute CWA’s post-Roe America ground game. Thru intentional prayer, education, and action, we will bring back a culture of life in our state!

Thank you for standing with us in 2023!

Public Comment Period Open for Virginia Schools 2022 Model Policies

By | Virginia | No Comments

Gov. Glen Younkin (Republican) released the new 2022 Model Policies on the Privacy, Dignity, and Respect for All Students and Parents in Virginia’s Public Schools.

The model policies uphold parents’ basic rights to oversee their child’s education and well-being. This policy strikes down former Gov. Ralph Northam’s administration policy, which held a radical gender ideology that endangered students’ privacy and safety, infringed on free speech, and created a rift between parents and their children.

The redrawn draft of Gov. Youngkin’s 2022 Model Policies offers a significant breakthrough. The policies:

  • Exclude all gender terms and clarifies that “sex” refers simply to biological sex;
  • Provide statutory and legal references that back policies safeguarding protections for parental rights and students’ privacy and safety rights;
  • Restrain schools from encouraging or instructing school workforce from keeping from their parent or legal guardian, gender-related information about a student;
  • Declare student participation in athletics must correspond with their biological sex.

There is a public comment period for the citizens of Virginia to weigh in on the 2022 model policies. The deadline to submit comments is Wednesday, October 26, 2022. This revised model policy is only a draft and does not have a final approval. Your comments are vitally important to ensure passage.

Join us in prayer: Father God, we thank you for Gov. Youngkin’s actions to restore parental rights to oversee their children’s education and well-being while reversing dangerous radical gender ideology in Virginia’s schools.  Jesus said, “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.” Luke 17:2. Protect the minds and hearts of our school children.

Thank you!

Meet CWA of Virginia’s New State Director!

By | Virginia | No Comments

I am very excited to introduce to you Teresa Pregnall, CWA’s new Virginia State Director. Teresa’s involvement with CWA started several years ago when she became active in a local CWA Prayer/Action Chapter. Teresa was drawn to CWA because of our balanced emphasis on education, prayer, and action. Because of this, Teresa very much looks forward to visiting CWA of Virginia’s existing chapters and developing new ones throughout the state. In addition, she is excited to see what the Lord does as she and Janet Robey, friend and seasoned Associate State Director, prayerfully grow the steering committee, increase influence at the state capitol, and draw fellow believers into the ministry of CWA.

Teresa’s life as a homemaker, wife, and mother has been her primary ministry and has brought Teresa great joy and fulfillment. Additionally, Teresa served in active military service with the United States Marine Corps and has been a Bible teacher to young women since 1999, opening her home to many college-age, young professional, and married women over the years.

Teresa has been passionately involved in short-term missions for over 22 years, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in Eastern Europe, South America, Central America, and Asia. Teresa and her husband Herbert (Herb) Pregnall. Jr. resides in Forest, Virginia, and are the proud parents of daughter Christine and son-in-law Bryan.

A note from Teresa:
I look forward to promoting CWA’s purposes and concerns wherever possible, as well as being available to you for help and encouragement, as together we build a strong state organization that honors Christ and brings Him glory!

Virginia: Encourage A Legislator Prayer Project Opportunity

By | Virginia | No Comments

Wow! What a year this has been. Many bills harmful to families and unborn babies were passed by the Virginia General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Ralph Northam (Democrat). And on a national level, it has also been a year like we have never experienced in our lifetime – the coronavirus and its lockdowns, lawlessness in our streets, and questions of election integrity.

Now is not the time to grow weary. Isaiah 54:17 promises us that no weapon forged against us will prevail. Prayer opens the keys to Kingdom power and is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us.

So, are you ready to pray?! I am looking for volunteers for Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia’s Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program for Virginia’s 2021 legislative session, which begins January 13, 2021.

If you are new to CWA, EAL is a program of encouragement and prayer for our Virginia legislators while the General Assembly is in session. It involves sending a postcard every week for six weeks and praying daily for a legislator. Click here to review the EAL brochure, which further explains the program.

We have received several notes of gratitude and appreciation from our legislators over the years. Here are a few:

“Thanks for your many prayers and words of encouragement.”
“Thank you for your cards of support . . . they mean a great deal to me.”

If you would like to participate in the 2021 EAL program, please click here to sign up online, and I will be in contact with you.

This is also a great project for your whole family, students, a Sunday School class, or a Bible study group.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve the Lord and your fellow citizens.

CWA of Virginia response to DOJ Ruling on ERA

Breaking! CWA of Virginia Responds to DOJ Ruling on the ERA

By | Virginia | No Comments

Today, Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia represented you in Richmond by participating in the Celebrate Womanhood, Do Not ERAse It! rally/lobby day to oppose the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). I spoke at the morning press conference, and our CWA of Virginia team lobbied state legislators to discuss our opposition to the ERA.

While we were working to oppose the ERA efforts, the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel ruled that the Equal Rights Amendment ratification from 40 years ago is dead! Read my press release here.

Thank you for your support in prayer and action!
