Pro-Life Bills Moving – Action Needed!

HUGE! The Pennsylvania House Health Committee recently passed three pro-life bills, and now the bills move to the full House for consideration. Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Pennsylvania is working actively to see these bills passed. Here is a brief description of the bills:

HB 904, the Heartbeat Bill, sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-District 76), would prohibit abortion once a fetal heartbeat can be detected (6-8 weeks). We have all experienced the significance of a beating heart. Whether it is at the bedside of a loved one passing from this life into the next or in the doctor’s office hearing the heartbeat of a new life just beginning, with the passage of SB 378 and HB 904, that same indicator of life will finally be acknowledged and protected in the womb.

HB1500, the Down Syndrome Protection Act, sponsored by Rep. Kate Klunk (R-District 169), would ban the abortion of a baby solely for the reason of a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome. Every life is a gift. Each of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. If our society advocates for equality and opportunity for all, we must ensure the right to life, especially for those who cannot speak up for themselves. No one should receive a prenatal death sentence.

HB 118, the Unborn Child Dignity Act, sponsored by Francis Ryan (R-District 101), would ensure parents have the option of burial or cremation of babies lost before birth. Often, babies that are miscarried as treated as medical, hazardous waste.  Deceased unborn infants deserve the same respect as other human beings.

Take Action!

  1. Call or e-mail your state representative and urge him or her to support HB 904, HB 1500, and HB 118. Use this link to find out who represents you in the state legislature. If you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Pennsylvania, be sure to let them know.
  2. Forward this e-mail to like-minded friends and family. Encourage them to pray and take action on this important legislation.

Please pray: Father, we thank You for leaders who care about the issues impacting the most vulnerable. We ask that You will intervene in a miraculous way in each state representative’s heart, giving each the courage he or she will need to stand for the preborn in Pennsylvania for we know “what is impossible with man, is possible with God” (Luke 18:27) In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God bless you for your faithfulness in prayer and action.
