Background: A 17-year old girl, an undocumented immigrant from Central America, is currently in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is suing the United States government, claiming that when young, pregnant mothers cross the border illegally, they are instantly granted a constitutional right to abortion. They are demanding that the government authorize abortions for young women and girls in its care.
