President Trump to Reverse Transgender Military Policy

Washington, D.C. – Today President Trump tweeted that after meeting with his Generals and military experts that transgender individuals would no longer be serving in any capacity in the U.S. Military. This reverses a policy which had previously been instated by the Defense Department under the previous administration in which the United States Federal Government was projected to pay millions of dollars in gender-reassignment surgeries.

Penny Nance, CEO & President of Concerned Women for America (CWA), had this to say:

“Concerned Women for America (CWA) applauds the White House decision to forgo accepting transgender personnel in the military. Thank you, Representative Vicky Hartzler, for bringing this to the attention of the American people by questioning the funding for transgender surgeries in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

“The U.S. military has one job and that is to protect and defend the United States at home and abroad. Any policy that doesn’t make us safer or a better fighting force should be jettisoned. There is no right to serve in the military. Restrictions are already made based on many factors, including age and readiness to serve.

“The costly Obama policy on transgender soldiers was based on social engineering, not military readiness. CWA opposes any policy that makes our armed services weaker.”
