Tomorrow in the Texas House of Representatives, we will stand in support of H.B. 5510, the Woman and Child Protection Act. This bill strengthens Texas’s pro-life laws by expanding civil enforcement mechanisms of the Texas Heartbeat Act to target trafficking, distribution, and facilitation of abortion-inducing drugs.
You may remember that we asked for your prayers and action on the companion bill S.B. 2880 in the Senate last month, which will probably be passed in the Senate soon. We testified on your behalf and will now do so before the House State Affairs Committee tomorrow morning, Friday, April 25. We appreciate your quick action and prayers for this bill.
We are expecting great opposition on-site to this bill from pro-choice groups like Planned Parenthood.
