Washington, D.C. – Today, Congress failed to reach the necessary votes to override the president’s veto of H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015. Concerned Women for America CEO and President Penny Nance had this to say:

“Although Congress failed to reach the necessary votes for a veto override on the reconciliation bill, this is still a victory for the pro-life movement. This is a victory because the American people spoke and Congress responded appropriately. They took their constituents wishes to the furthest extent the Constitution would allow.

“We applaud leadership for listening to the American people and taking the steps they did. We thank them for instilling hope in America for our future. Taking this bill as far as we have has set a great precedent for our future, and we will not let that slide through our fingers.

“We look forward to continuing this fight through research found by the new Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. The truth will come out, and the American people will once again be heard. With a pro-life president in office, we will get the job done.”
