Dear CWA friend,
The bloodlust that has had a stranglehold on our nation for over 46 years took an additional dark turn in New York State this week, and that is why I am writing to those of you who live specifically in New York. On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the New York state Senate and Assembly passed, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law, the “Reproductive Health Act,” the most egregious, heart-wrenching, anti-life bill.
This new state law grievously permits abortion up to just before birth and allows medical professionals who are not doctors to perform abortions, therefore stretching the boundaries of Roe v. Wade. As the ink was drying at the bill signing, Gov. Cuomo said this about the new abortion law, “Today we are taking a giant step forward in the hard-fought battle to ensure a woman’s right to make her own decisions about her own personal health, including the ability to access an abortion. With the signing of this bill, we are sending a clear message that whatever happens in Washington, women in New York will always have the fundamental right to control their own body.”
CWA’s general counsel Mario Diaz sent out this compassionate challenge concerning the issue of life, “Let us resolve to speak ever more boldly for the unborn in New York and wherever we are. Let us recommit our efforts to support women in crisis pregnancy and to love each person at every stage of life for their intrinsic value, as created in the image of God.”
Psalm 11:3 says, “When the foundations are being destroyed what can the righteous do?” New York’s foundations are crumbling, and the righteous need to step up now for the sake of the generations to come.
This brings me to a few questions for you specifically. Are you ready? Have the actions of your state Senate, of your Assembly, and of your Governor inspired you enough to take the next step to getting involved? Are you now willing to raise your voice for the voiceless victims of abortion and to put your name on the line for life? Are you ready to stand up and impact the culture for Christ through education and public policy in New York? Do you feel God calling you to be a voice for the voiceless? If you are feeling that call, do not wait a minute longer.
Contact me today to learn more about opportunities for involvement in New York through the ministry of Concerned Women for America. The future of the pro-life movement depends on women like you!
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
