CWA of Washington September 2013 Action Alert

Willing: Are you willing to stand for God’s Word no matter what the cost?

Dear CWA of Washington Member,

In our last action alert, we discussed God’s truth and man’s attempt to distort that truth. Feminists and secular progressives have sadly but successfully promoted their opinions for more than a generation. They believe that if you have the right attitude about anything you can forget the consequences. Never mind that those consequences are ripping apart the social and moral fabric of this nation. However, just having a politically correct opinion or “right attitude” is not the same as knowing God’s truth and promoting the best for His people. We could easily lose this nation if as a culture we do not return to our moral and spiritual foundations. God’s Word tells us: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.'” (Psalm 14:1)

President John Adams warned that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” (October 11, 1798 to the military). In his Farewell Address, September 19, 1796, President George Washington wrote, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens.” And President Ronald Reagan stated, “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under.”

Are you willing to stand in defense of the twin pillars of morality and religion? CWA has initiated a new campaign for conservative Christian women and like-minded men: WILLING. Simply put, the campaign is calling us to take a stand for God and His Holy Bible.

Are you willing to stand up for Truth, whatever the cost? “Willing” is our pledge to GOD, as testimony to the world, that we will never deny Him or His Word, whatever the cost. Jesus Christ told us that “If they persecuted [Him], they will also persecute you.” (John 15:20) Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised when the world rejects us. We need to remain faithful to Him in every area and endure whatever momentary afflictions we may endure, for our trust is in Him alone.

CWA of Washington has a supply of the WILLING bracelets which we want you to wear and share with others. As our thank you for standing with us in support, you can receive your own bracelet as a witness to your faith and your decision to stand in the gap to protect and promote Biblical values in our culture. When you send in membership form, we’ll mail you a WILLING bracelet!

It is time to put on our spiritual armor and head to the front lines of the culture battle! Go to 40daysforlife.com to locate a prayer vigil in your area. Sanctity of Life is CWA’s first core issue. Please do what you can to join the growing movement to promote respect for human life at all stages.

OPPORTUNITIES

Hebrews 10:25 exhorts, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

CWA is based on Biblical values promoted and protected through prayer, education and action. CWA’s seven core issues are Sanctity of Life, Family, Religious Liberty, Education, Sexual Exploitation, National Sovereignty and Support for Israel. Everything we do is related to those seven issues. Volunteers are the backbone of CWA, and we need you to be able to stand strong in the culture surrounding us. We have three ways you can do that in your community.

PRAYER/ACTION CHAPTERS: Please consider attending a Prayer/Action Chapter meeting in your area (Bremerton, Des Moines, Edmonds, Redmond, Snoqualmie, Tacoma, Vancouver and Woodinville), If your area is not listed, consider starting a chapter in order to meet with other CWA members: Prayer/Action Chapters join in prayer and action with other believers, in obedience to Ephesians 6:18: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit; being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for the saints.” Prayer/Action Leaders (PALS) facilitate monthly meetings in homes, community centers and may start with as few as two prayer warriors.

HOME TEAMS: The Home Team Captain (HTC) distributes information furnished by the national office and the state or area director. Using e-mail, fax and/or telephone, the HTC alerts members of his or her team of current information on which they are encouraged to read, pray and take action. This is an excellent way to get the word out if you don’t know of women in your area who could attend Prayer/Action Chapter meetings.

ENCOURAGE-A-LEGISLATOR! Please help us reach our goal of praying for every Washington State legislator in 2014! Simply fill out our EAL form and we will assign you to one of the men and women who represent us in Olympia. You simply pray every day of the session and send a weekly note of encouraging words which we supply.

I encourage you to get involved and stand for the Biblical foundations that have made our nation strong and successful.
