Life Bills Moving Forward in Louisiana! Join Us in Prayer!

“So God created man in His own image;
in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them.”
-Genesis 1:27

Two excellent pro-life bills, HB 425, authored by Rep. Josh Carlson (R-District 43), and HB 575, authored by Rep. Lauren Ventrella (R-District 65), are both scheduled to move into the Senate this week for committee assignments.

HB425, The Stop Coerced Abortion Act, broadens the current definition of coercion to encompass tactics often used by abusers that force a woman to undergo an abortion against her will. Louisiana law already prohibits coerced abortion. This legislation will be modified to include the ways abusers use force, control, and/or intimidation.

HB575, Justice for Victims of Abortion Drug Dealer Act, will help us, through legislation, to fight the abortion industry’s abortion pill machine. It will help mothers, fathers, and grandparents who are hurt by abortion! This empowers Louisiana citizens with the ability to file suit against abortion drug dealers who illegally provide abortion pills in the state. It makes clear that those involved in providing abortion pills, from manufacturers to street dealers, can be held civilly liable for the damage they cause.

Let Us Pray Together: Heavenly Father, we know that fighting for all life will always be a concern. You are the giver of life, and You treasure and cherish human life, seeing each life as sacred. Give our legislators the eyes to see the sacredness of each life and the courage and strength to protect those who cannot protect themselves. In Your Holy name, Amen

“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this, does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?’” – Proverbs 24:10-12a

Action: Watch for a forthcoming e-alert. Once these bills have been assigned to a committee, we will ask you to contact the committee members to encourage them to protect life.
