“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
Proverbs 31:8
Human trafficking is a real and growing concern in Pennsylvania.
Between 2020 and 2024, nearly 1,500 human trafficking offenses were filed in Pennsylvania. This crisis is not happening somewhere else – it is happening in our communities.
I was honored to represent Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Pennsylvania at the Berks County Patriots meeting on June 18, alongside Doug Legenfelder. Doug is a staffer for Pennsylvania State Sen. Chris Dush (R-District 25). Doug is actively involved in efforts to combat human trafficking through The ASSERVO Project, an organization focused on awareness, prevention, and education.

During our discussion, we addressed the realities of human trafficking in Pennsylvania and the need for people to be informed and alert. I shared about recognizing warning signs, staying vigilant, and the responsibility we all carry in helping protect the vulnerable. We also highlighted the importance of collaboration among families, churches, and local partners and the role they play in preventing trafficking and supporting victims.
I am grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside others who are committed to defending human dignity, raising awareness, and working toward freedom and restoration for those impacted by this horrific crime.
This is not an issue to push aside or forget. It needs to be on the front burner where awareness leads to attention and action.
If you would be interested in having someone speak on this issue at your church, community group, or organization, please contact me. I would be honored to help raise awareness of this important cause.
PRAY:
Please pray for the victims of human trafficking—that they would be rescued, protected, and restored. Pray for law enforcement officers, legislators, advocates, and organizations working to expose traffickers and bring justice. Ask God to give parents, educators, pastors, and community leaders discernment to recognize warning signs and courage to act when they see someone at risk.
TAKE ACTION:
Are you passionate about protecting the vulnerable and making a difference in your community? Human trafficking is just one of the many issues Concerned Women for America (CWA) addresses through prayer, education, and action. If you are interested in this issue or any of CWA’s core concerns, contact me today. I would be happy to let you know if there is a CWA of Pennsylvania Prayer/Action Chapter in your area. If there isn’t one nearby, perhaps God is calling you to help start one.
There is a place for you in CWA, and together we can make a difference for Pennsylvania and our nation.
