CWALAC_MediaStatementWashington, D.C. – The following quote can be attributed to Penny Nance, President and CEO of Concerned Women for America, the nations largest public policy women’s organization, on the news that the Supreme Court will soon hear several cases regarding same-sex marriage:

“We hope the Court will show the restraint that should be characteristic of the judicial branch and not take the bait from radical activists to make the same mistake it committed in the disastrous Roe v. Wade decision. The question before the Court is very limited, who gets to choose what the definition of marriage is? These state marriage amendments were voted in by an overwhelming majority of Americans and for a handful of judges to overturn their votes unilaterally cuts at the heart of the foundational statement in our Constitution, ‘We the people’. Concerned Women for America (CWA) is committed to both the principles of traditional marriage and the idea that it is ‘We the people’ who should get to decide what marriage is, not unelected judges.”
