Black Women Targeted for Abortion

Abortion benefits black women and families? Abortion is SELF-CARE for black women? This is the snake oil that The Afiya Center (TAC) is selling us through their most recent billboard campaign in Texas.

I am a free thinking, informed and intuitive black woman, and I don’t buy it! Over 30 years ago I survived the abortion, but my baby didn’t! Since 1973, abortion has reduced the black population by over 25 percent. That means that one out of four of us has been exterminated through abortion. According to the Center for Disease Control, twice as many African Americans have died from abortion than have died from AIDS, accidents, violent crimes, cancer, and heart disease combined. 84 percent of Planned Parenthood clinics are located in minority communities. We make up less than thirteen percent of the female population, yet we have around 35 percent of the abortions in America. (1)

By targeting the African American community, TAC is promoting genocide. The definition of genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation. As such, TAC women sell out their own.

TAC is run by black women! Shame on them! They are complicit and are puppets in the hands of abortion providers. It’s the same as Africans assisting in the kidnapping of other Africans and selling them into bondage as part of the transatlantic slave trade! TAC women are no different! Margaret Sanger’s Negro Project is still alive and well!

African Americans being a target of genocide is not new. We’ve been traditionally targeted in the abortion industry by those who believe that African Americans are inferior and a drain on society’s resources. With insidious intent, manipulation and lies, Planned Parenthood and others like it have continued their scourge on the Black community, even utilizing the black church to indoctrinate its members to this horror (Margaret Sanger’s letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 1939).

TAC is lying to black women! Abortion as self-care and its benefits is a flagrant pack of lies! The butchery of our babies doesn’t benefit us, our families, our communities, or the human race. The truth is, it eliminates us, one by one.

What if the mothers of these individuals had believed the lies – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, Shirley Chisholm, Ida B. Wells, Madame C. J. Walker, Harriet Tubman, Dr. Charles Drew, Dr. Ben Carson, Garrett A. Morgan, you and me? Imagine the greatness that would have been lost! Moreover, believing that abortion is self-care is counter-intuitive. It defies sound reasoning. Their narrative says that abortion is self-care and is beneficial to black women, yet death and destruction are the results.

Is it self-care when having an abortion leaves your body with free radicals that cause cancer or that scar tissue from abortion has left some women infertile? That’s just two conditions. Over one hundred complications have been associated with induced abortions. A few major complications include infection, ripping or perforation of the uterus, and cervical injury which may lead to sterility, and hemorrhaging which may cause death. (2)

A 1993 Howard University study showed that African American women over age 50 were 4.7 times more likely to get breast cancer if they had had any abortions compared to women who had not had any abortions.

Is it self-care when women suppress the guilt of having an abortion, resulting in symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Deep down inside we ALL know that we are mothers killing our babies! Statistics show that women who have undergone post-abortion counseling report over 100 major reactions to abortion. Among the most frequently reported are: depression, loss of self-esteem, self-destructive behavior, sexual dysfunction, dramatic personality changes, guilt and remorse, difficulty grieving, and difficulty bonding with later children. (2)

Wake up! This is genocide by design. The abortion industry’s version of self-care is a grave injustice to that baby and her mother. Let’s be clear. I’ve learned the value of life from the womb to the tomb, and I’ve concluded that ALL LIVES MATTER.
