Biden’s Reckless Rhetoric puts Hostages>br> and our Greatest Ally at Risk

U.S. support for Israel and help to defeat terrorism must be highest priority

Washington, D.C. – Today, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) slammed President Joe Biden’s sanctimonious dictates and threats to withdraw support to Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, while they are fighting a war for their survival against Hamas terrorists. Israel has vowed to defeat its enemy and to protect its people from further attacks after the October 7th massacre in which thousands of Israelis were murdered, raped, tortured or kidnapped.

“Sunday marks six months since the brutal attacks on our greatest ally in the Middle East, while 100 hostages are still in captivity including six Americans, women and babies, Joe Biden dares to make threats to Israel and tell them how to fight for their survival,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC. “His rhetoric puts those lives at risk and deteriorates support when our ally needs it most. The United States has a moral obligation and a strategic one to help our closest ally in the region and give them the tools they need to defeat the terrorists who brutalized and murdered their citizens.”

CWALAC urges Congress to quickly pass the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act in the U.S. House of Representatives that would provide emergency supplemental funds to help them in their fight against Hamas terrorists and fund the U.S. military for support in the region. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has pushed for passage of the appropriations bill, and it is co-sponsored by numerous members.

The aid package would reinforce Israeli defense systems by helping replenish their missile defense systems and provide advanced weapons systems and enhance production and development of artillery and critical munitions.

“If President Biden dares to veto this bill, he will have proven once again that his feckless and feeble foreign policy has left our country less secure and our citizens less safe,” said Nance. “Helping our allies defeat terrorism in their region will keep Americans more safe in our own.”

Support for Israel is one of Concerned Women for America’s seven core issues. CWA and its Young Women for America (YWA) leaders have been holding prayer vigils for Israel on college campuses and at civic centers around the country to focus attention on the suffering of the Jewish people and victims of the horrific terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023.
