ACTION NEEDED: Protect Women’s Safety and Protection

Your action is needed this weekend for an important bill moving through the Louisiana legislature. This Monday, April 8, the House Civil Law and Procedure Committee will hear HB608, a good bill for women’s safety and protection. The bill is sponsored by Rep. Roger William Wilder (R-District 71).

The safety of women is continuing to be under attack. This important bill is needed because allowing men to enter women-only spaces just to appeal to how they feel” is a complete betrayal and mockery of a womans dignity. Allowing men who identify as women enter safe spaces such as women’s shelters and women’s prisons is diametrically opposed to the fundamental idea of womens rights. Many women are scared to speak up because theyre afraid of what may come against them.

HB608 will provide protections for women and girls against sexual assault,
harassment, and violence in correctional facilities, juvenile detention facilities, domestic violence shelters, dormitories, and restrooms, or where women have been traditionally afforded safety and protection from acts of abuse committed by biological men.

Take Action – Please contact the members of the House Civil Law and Procedures Committee and encourage them to support HB608. The committee contact information is listed below my signature.

Please pray for the hearts of the legislators as they hear the bill. Pray they will seek God’s wisdom as they vote.
