Washington, D.C. – Today, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, blasted the Biden Administration’s final Title IX Rule announced today. Biden’s revision of Title IX  removes federal protections “on the basis of sex” that have safeguarded women’s rights and enabled female students to excel in education and sports for nearly 52 years. The final Rule reinterprets the meaning of “sex” with the vague, undefined, subjective category of “gender identity,” thus stripping women and girls of vital protections based on sex under civil rights law.  

Under President Joe Biden’s radical rewrite of Title IX, female students will no longer have federal protection against sex discrimination in educational activities, including athletics. Biden’s rule rejects that “sex” is defined as biologically male and female. Women and girls lose their rights to equality of opportunity because males self-identifying as women are given new rights to take their place, use their bathrooms and locker rooms, and play on their sports teams.  

“Shame on Joe Biden and all those feminists around him who claim to care about women’s rights! He has just abolished over 50 years of female opportunity and achievement,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC. “Biden’s regressive rule erases our status as women and the protections that should go with it, disproportionately harming biological women and girls for the new ‘heroes’ of the day, men who claim to be women. The Caitlin Clarks of this world must make way for mediocre, self-obsessed males to steal our status, our spaces, and our sports.  

“Where are the feminists? The women’s rights movement that wears Title IX as its badge of honor has sold out women. The same people who claim to be champions of women’s rights and equality are the same people taking those very rights and protections away from women.

“This Rule has nothing to do with fairness and equal opportunity for women. It has everything to do with pleasing a very small fringe minority that Joe Biden is counting on to vote for him in November.”

Title IX was established in 1972 to provide equal opportunity for female students in education and athletes who were denied the same benefits as their male peers on the basis of our natural biological sex. 

“Men are the new women,” said Doreen Denny, CWA Senior Advisor. “Transgender identity is the new sex. Males like Lia Thomas declaring ‘womanhood’ have the upper hand in civil rights claims under this Biden rule. A male’s feminine feelings and desires are prioritized over any psychological turmoil foisted on female students and athletes suffering the injustice. The disadvantage and harm goes one way: female students are being assaulted in school restrooms; female athletes are forced to surrender their privacy in the locker rooms and have their opportunities and achievements stolen in their own sports.”
