MORAL DECAY

Dear CWA Member,

General Douglas MacArthur warned in a speech to the Salvation Army, December 12, 1951:

History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.

Benjamin Franklin wrote on April 17, 1787:

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.

Charles Carroll, signer of the Declaration of Independence, wrote …

Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion … are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments.

If the church is the conscience of the government, should the government have power to silence its conscience?  During the Ugandan revival, Pastor Jackson Senyonga commented, “The condition of society is the report card of the church.”  Given the growth of secular government’s intrusion into our work, personal and religious lives, how is the church doing?  Who is able and should provide the moral and spiritual compass for the people?  Our government was founded to protect our inalienable God-given rights and President Ronald Reagan wisely pointed out that any government big enough to give you everything you need is also big enough to take away everything you have.  For years now, the government has failed to contain itself to the limits of the U. S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  Remember that our founders—both men and women, by the way, e.g. Abigail Adams’ influence on and support of John Adams– chose a constitutional republic as our form of government and wrote the Constitution to LIMIT what that government could do, thus protecting “we the people” from the tyranny we rebelled against in King George!

PRAYER:  What can “we the people” do?  First of all, we can pray that God will have mercy on us and that He will allow another revival based on Biblical principles and faith.   Please pray about and consider starting a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter or Home Team in your community with like-minded women and men.  Then we need to study and educate ourselves on our Declaration of Independence, U. S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and stand up in defense of those founding documents.  Principles do not go out of date and neither do nations founded on them.  Finally, we need to act on those principles and our sincerely-held religious beliefs in order to produce public policy built on God’s moral and spiritual plumb line. CWA can help you with all of the above.  Go to the national website (www.concernedwomen.org) to educate yourself on the issues, then contact the state office to tell us where you want to be involved with CWA of Washington.

As a Prayer/Action Chapter Leader (PAL) or Home Team Captain (HTC) in your community, gathering your friends, church brethren and family once a month to pray for our nation, our faith, our families and our freedoms, you can help guide us back to God’s Word and the principles that have made this nation the place to which people from around the world seek to immigrate.

ACTION:  Next, step up and VOTE!  We need to encourage all like-minded citizens to vote, also.  The church has neglected this responsibility for too long, and the culture is suffering the consequences of that apathy.  When we choose not to vote, others who do not share our values choose our leaders and thus influence public policy through legislation that either ignores or opposes our values.  Your vote will determine not only your future but that of your children and grandchildren.  Otherwise, as President Reagan said:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.  We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream.  It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

CWA of Washington’s Legislative Action Committee will be posting a voter’s guide and a way to contact other like-minded citizens to encourage them to vote on our website in mid-October.  Please check out those resources and share with others.

Speaking of the next generations, Young Women for America is spreading across America with a growing number of chapters on college campuses.  Follow their progress at https://concernedwomen.org/special-projects/ywa/ and share that information with young women on high school and university campuses.

As orthodox Islam continues its drive to dominate the world, we need to educate ourselves and others on the consequences.  While feminists choose silence, Penny Nance has addressed this issue boldly: https://concernedwomen.org/a-real-war-on-women/

Another source of education on orthodox Islam is Pastor Shahram Hadian, a valuable and experienced speaker who is available to address the true nature and history of Islam plus the blasphemous blending of Christianity and Islam called Chrislam.  Please check out his website and share the materials with others in your community:  www.tilproject.com.

More prayer needs:

  • Pray that the Body of Christ will take the lead in the culture, educating ourselves and others in our communities.
  • Pastors and other Christian leaders have a God-given responsibility to stand in the gap and speak the truth about pertinent issues. Churches and pastors have a lot of freedom to address Biblical and moral issues and to encourage people to vote in the November 4 elections.  Across the nation there are choices to be made; let’s choose wisely according to God’s Word and His principles!
  • Pray about becoming a CWA leader!  Talk with your friends and send in your application (attached).

This verse is CWA’s national call to its members as we face the consequences of immoral decisions and Constitutional ignorance from our government and others in authority.  In order to live in peace, we must step into the gap for America and her families.  Pray for those government and church authorities, then educate yourself, and take action!  We look forward to standing alongside you as we fight for our faith, our families and our God-given freedoms.
