A Series of Devotions by YWA Leaders Ahead of the Women’s Sports Cases at the Supreme Court

Unceasing Intercession

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance.” Ephesians 6:18

There is a great war between good and evil that has raged since Eden and will continue until Christ’s return. The devil seeks to twist God’s truth, and as Christ’s ambassadors, we are called to uphold it. Scripture describes believers as watchmen on the walls—steadfast in prayer and devotion, refusing to be silent. Though God’s plan is always perfectly in motion, He calls us to stand firm where He has placed us, lifting our voices to Him and praying for restoration. Trials in this life will come, but God grants us the strength to endure. As we learn the gift of perseverance, we are blessed to have a merciful God who will pour out His love on us in order to give us the strength to endure with hope when we are weak. Let this be a call to continue praying without ceasing, and to not lose heart for our country that was built on what is good and true. We are calling God to move in what he has already established to be virtuous. God has spoken; our prayers keep watch until He acts.

Excerpts from Morgan Haddock, Ambassador from Texas

Pray for a spirit of persistence in prayer. Ask God for a renewed devotion as we stand for virtue in our land. Ask the Lord to hear our cries and that we may be comforted by the truth that our efforts are not in vain.

A God of Truth and Justice

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and truth go before you.” Psalm 89:14

To know God’s mercy and love, we must first understand His righteous and just nature. Knowing what is good precedes knowing what is wicked, a truth established from the beginning in the garden. God, as the holy and righteous Judge, holds every evil deed accountable, and in that light, the weight of His grace becomes clear to all who seek His forgiveness and correction. As followers of Christ, we are called to live in this truth daily.

In a world where sin is celebrated and confusion replaces clarity, it is dire to amplify voices of truth. Though right is often shamed and wrong is celebrated, we are called to rise above the noise, standing firm in faith and bold in voice. Toxic empathy is presented as love, yet true love—God’s standard—shows that correction is rooted in compassion. Our boldness in truth is compassion for the hurting and clarity for the confused.

God’s truth sets people free, and we are privileged to share it. The freedom found in Christ is not meant to be kept to ourselves. Our Heavenly Father is powerful in both justice and compassion, able to break chains, restore hearts, and reveal beauty. Let us not grow weary, but stand firm as vessels of His light and love, speaking truth with grace and guiding others toward the fullness of life found in Him.

Excerpts from Emily Anasazi Barajas, Alumni from Texas and Ana Sofía Santiago-Russe, Ambassador from Puerto Rico

Praise God for His righteous and just nature. Thank Him for His immense love, rooted in compassion. Pray for a love of the truth that compels you to speak into the darkest parts of our world. Pray for compassionate hearts to love those that are confused and an ability to bring clarity and hope to those in your spheres of influence.

Male and Female: God’s Perfect Design

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalms 139:13-14

Our God, in His divine plan, intentionally created His creation to reflect His glory. An artist with a clear vision, our heavenly Father formed us—male and female—without error. The enemy seeks to sow confusion and undermine God’s authority, but in a world full of opinions about identity, we must remember how God created us. He intricately designs His children, forming our inward parts with care and intention. He is involved, purposeful, and knows us completely, directing our steps and understanding our thoughts.

To reject any part of how God created us is to question His wisdom and care. Wishing we were made differently suggests that God made a mistake—but God does not make mistakes. He did not create us carelessly or assign the wrong gender; He wove us together with purpose and love. May we remember this truth and pray for those who struggle to see that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Friend, embrace this truth with humility and grace, and let it lead you to praise your King.

Excerpts from Michaella Schaffer, Ambassador from Alaska

Pray for those who do not realize God’s intentional, beautiful creation of them as a man or woman. Pray for their minds to be enlightened and hearts softened by the grace of God. Praise the Lord that our identity can be secure in this life and renewed in the next in Him.

Blessed Assurance

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

We know that God is sovereign over all things, and even still it is tempting for Christians to look around at the present-day society and be discouraged by the unrighteousness that surrounds us: Unbiblical ideologies being pushed on our children, alternative lifestyles that go against God’s original design, people in places of authority leading our country in the wrong direction, churches not speaking out against ungodliness, the Body of Christ attacking each other. We begin to question speaking up for righteousness’ sake, or even being in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Yet–we are called to endure. Perseverance is a true representation of Christ. It is in difficult circumstances that a critical opportunity to partner with the Lord through prayer and action arises. What we labor to accomplish now is a faithful investment, even if we don’t see immediate results. The Lord will accomplish His ultimate plan and purposes, on His timeline. We can rest in this assurance. With this foundation, we have an unshakeable peace found in Jesus in the middle of what might feel like chaos in our world. From the small details of our lives, to the monumental obstacles that we face, God cares and is present in our sufferings. His heart breaks too. In the end, a beautiful restoration is coming. So take heart! We will see all things worked together for His glory, and our good.

Excerpts from Tori Thomas, Ambassador from California

Pray for a renewed assurance in the Lord’s sovereignty. Ask for a spirit of strength to endure the brokenness of this world. Pray for unity in the body of Christ to combat evil with goodness.
