North Dakota Leaders Gain Ground in D.C.

Last week, I had the privilege of joining five Concerned Women for America of North Dakota leaders and nearly 300 women in Washington, D.C., for CWA’s Gaining Ground Summit. Together, we boldly declared: “Every human life is valued, family is sacred, and our nation’s security matters.”

While in D.C., we met with North Dakota Sens. Kevin Cramer (R) and John Hoeven (R) to advocate for the MOMs Act and the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act.

I was deeply encouraged when Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana 4th) said, “Concerned Women for America is having its finest moment in history.” We also had the honor of hearing from inspiring leaders such as Education Secretary Linda McMahon, Vanessa Sivadge, Ronen and Orna Neutra, Megan Basham, and keynote speaker Eric Metaxas.

In addition to our opportunity to talk with our senators, we also participated in training to strengthen various aspects of our state organization, including our Prayer/Action Chapters.

Our nondenominational Prayer/Action Chapter meetings serve as an arm of the Church to encourage informed prayer and action for our nation and its leaders. We do this by educating Christians on issues that affect our Biblically-based standards. If we join in prayer and action with other believers, our nation, state, and communities will change for the better. More importantly, we will be obeying the instructions given in God’s Word: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).

On September 15, I shared my reflections on the Summit and my perspective going forward after the death of Charlie Kirk. You can begin listening at the 35:13 minute mark of Scott Hennen’s “What’s on Your Mind” radio show here.

Now more than ever, I am committed to leading CWA of North Dakota in prayer, education, and advocacy for life, family, and freedom.
